Have you actually read the books? One thing you have wrong was the direction of tunnelling. The tunnelling was from Silo 18 to 17. Remember Solo and the kids in 17 watched the digger break through into their silo.

Thank you for this. My inner 2yr old was torturing me with suspense, getting me frustrated with the shows slow pace. Now I can relax and enjoy watching it like I did with Breaking Bad. The spoilers feel like more of a movie trailer than anything else.

I thought the silos were supposed to have150 levels, Silo 18 had 147 levels but the drilling machine broke down before finishing them. This is what tipped me off that there were other silos.
I see people saying this is like fallout. The story of nukes destroying the earth and people living in bunkers is so old even the outer limits made a story about that in black n white. But the fallout story is better because the overall purpose of the vault was studying for humans to survive the trip off the planet. So each vault had a different experiment. The whole story of the humans who left the vaults and explore the messed up world after. Silo is not bad but not as good because yeah nano bots is the killer, so the over purpose of the silos, vaults, it was people lame when you compare the reason why humanity died. But the stories of the characters is what this is all about.
I read the books and really enjoyed season one. Now I’m only remembering the basics of the second two books and find myself questioning the whole plausibility of the silo existence. I’m really just getting enjoyment out of seeing Juliette work out the obstacles she faces for survival.

for me it was the time, the years that passed and the slow degeneration of the society, where everything was recycled and paper was a valuable resource, home made to keep it going. Things were not questioned and bad guys had to clean the camera lens before they died from being sent outside. The time scale for all of this and then reading further into the books to know the prequill for it was fascinating as well. Read his other books where the world is covered totally by sand hundreds of meters deep and people swim down to skyscrapers to retrieve artifacts, also a good summation of a society broken.

Comparing Solo to GoT isn't a good comparison. The reason GoT went off the rails was because Martin refuses to finish the books so GoT had to make it all up. Whereas Dust is a complete series. It's finished.
Great video! i've not read the books but i'm liking what i see so far, my main concern though is the longevity of modern shows and from what you've just described, there's a lot of material to be covered, but this show is REALLY slow at covering it. i mean, maybe, just maybe they have 10 seasons planned but these days it seems we're lucky to get 1 or 2 before the shows get cancelled. can we expect it to pick up this season with something really juicy to get us excited (and still interested in watching)?

After watching season one and realizing that beacon 23 were both by Howey, I burned through these books. I was only disappointed they didn’t do the coveralls in the tv series to further caste the people.

The biggest problem with these expensive American series is the following. We will no doubt get a few re commissioned series of silo , but once the audience figures drop there’s a far chance it’ll be dropped, numerous American series have got off to a great start only to be decommissioned after 3or4 seasons. Personally I got to point where I only watch after they are at least 4 seasons under their belt . The second biggest problem is if the show is really popular they milk and milk it until the story line becomes absurd. Only time will tell.
*I am just glad they stayed true to the story and did not inject any LGBTQ aganda into this show. I am Gay and I hate when books are altered to reflact ANYONE's special agenda be it Gay, Political and Religious, etc.*
The series is good and bad. Feels part like a terrible young adult novel but instead of adults playing young adults its about adults playing adults but then I'm a sucker for this kind of material.

The series is good and bad. Feels part like a terrible young adult novel but instead of adults playing young adults its about adults playing adults but then I'm a sucker for this kind of material.
