Great post @ellicel. I feel the same. It’s indicative of what’s great about this show. (Even Rogue One - we know how it all ends but the writers and directors made something much bigger out of something so small). This show is doing the same - really really great characters and world building 10/10 scifi-drama
Another little bit: the KX droid kept saying "hang" to Cassian (in reference to the shore trooper telling it to "hang onto him"), and death by hanging is how Clem dies in retaliation for the stone incident
I’m excited that they showed how Cassian is not a good person, showing how selfish and greedy he can be is such a refreshing storyline. Star Wars has enough good vs bad in its cannon. We need to see much more moral ambiguity from Star Wars and Tony Gilroy has delivered hugely. Charlie, thank you for filling in some of the uncolored corners of this masterpiece. For some 14 or 15 years, Bail Organa has been secretly using his wealth and resources and political power and influence for humanitarian relief efforts, and to recruit and coordinate rebel cell activity against the Empire. Ahsoka was within Organa's network of rebel factions when she took command of Organa's intellegence network and called herself "Fulcrum." Discontent for the Imperial Government inspires an increasing amount of independent rebel activity against the Empire, but the network of rebel cells that Organa has established, the one that the common man on the street has evidently been calling, "Rebellion," is growing so fast that it seems like anything anyone does is IMMEDIATELY perceived as Rebellion, or Rebel activity. (On the street, the 2 terms are interchangeable, since no one in the galaxy knows the difference anyway.) So when Sgt Mosk heard about the 2 dead officers, he brought up the "pockets of fomenting," likely associating Cassian Andor with the Rebellion. He never directly said it, but he did bring up the Rebellion, what he or anyone else would know of it, while talking about Cassian. Either way, Karn came away from that conversation thinking Cassian part of the Rebellion. When he sees the report about the Aldhani heist, it seems like he might think Andor could be a part of it. Either way, in Episode 7, Karn calls Cassian a rebel, having no evidence that the death of the officers has anything at all to do with Rebel activity, and no evidence that Cassian was ever associated with Rebel activity in the past. Dedra Meero, having not even any HINT of evidence that the Starpath unit theft was even REMOTELY related to Rebel activity, ASSUMED that Rebels took it, and she considered all rebel activity to be part of a unified group. She didn't say the words then, but what she said left no room for doubt as to what she was thinking. And then in Episode 7, she came right out and said it. Her mind INSTANTLY went to Rebellion, to something coordinated, again, since the man on the street doesn't know about independent cell activity; it's all Rebellion to him, like Andor killing the 2 guards, and the Starpath unit theft. Whether the word is specifically used or not, you know what they're thinking by the way they speak of it. The viewer of the show knows the difference, but the people in the show don't. The man in Luthen's shop said that the news reported "a big Rebel attack" (capital R) only a few hours after the heist, immediately associating it with the Rebellion before a proper investigation can make the determination. The only person who MIGHT have made a distinction between the organized Rebel activity, or Rebellion, and independent rebel activity, and this is a big "MIGHT," because I can't really tell, is Wulf Yularen. The point of this is, there is already a Rebellion that has been growing in activity and size so that the word Rebellion is evidently already in very common use before the first episode, thr Rebellion is what's spoken of when people in the show use the word Rebel. The Rebellion is the FIRST THING on people's minds even for activity that's 100% unrelated to rebel activity. I'm beginning to think that part of the success of the Rebellion is the fact that anytime someone did anything, there are people who think it's part of an organized rebel movement. That heist on Aldhani was done by a rebel cell, not an organized Rebellion. But the news reports the very next day made a sensationalized claim, as if an orgnaization attacked the Empire. The heist really can be perceived as an announcement, but it's not in the least what Dedra meant when she said i
I think its a fair guess, the Rebellion wasnt as linked as we see in the OT until Mothma gives her speech in Rebels- Ahsoka as Fulcrum was a mainplayer at this time, hope we see more of it in her show
@@garyfrombrooklyn not really the empire has a totalitarian vibe with a strong streak of racism, the underground during Nazi Germany was far deadlier and the empire was directly copied from Nazi Germany
Why is this show already better than the last 3 or 4 star war films I’ve seen in the past. It doesn’t even feel like I’m watching a show. It’s like a movie split up in different episodes.

Yeah, right? Feels like a treat of some sort. Almost an apology.
Cassian going to jail is not for nothing. That power-thirsty beach trooper got the man himself and didn't even know it. That's great writing once again for this show.
That intro to the holiday planet with the birds flying over the water, and the stereotypical RUclips influencer music playing made me laugh. So cool to see sarcastic humour like that in a Star Wars release.
The conversation between Andor and his adopted mother is similar between a conversation in a deleted scene between Biggs Darklighter and Luke Skywalker from ANH.
Wulff Yularen is in the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope. I didn't know his name until I saw Clone Wars. The only thing I remember about him in the first movie is that white suit he was wearing, which might be the same one he was wearing last night. As soon as I saw him, I stood up and clapped. The only thing messed up about Dedra Meera is that she mistakenly thinks that the rebel activity is colrdonated attacks. That's why the "too random to be random" actually is random. The S9 Starpath Unit theft was a personal thing that Andor did as unrelated to anything coordinated as the theft of the 80 million credits. But her wrong supposition will likely lead her to the right place.
I didn't see the credits ,but if that's meant to be Admiral yularen that's really freaking cool seeing him!!! He's the only one with that iconic white hair, and mustache 😂😂.
I got an Audio Easter egg for episode 7. The end credits music has a number of phases and the second phase matches a piece of music from around 1994 by a British band called Pop Will Eat Itself or simply PWEI. The piece of music in question by PWEI is "Everything's Cool". The second phase of "Everthing's Cool" matches musically the second phase of the Andor end credit's of episode 7. The important part though is the lyrics in "Everything's Cool" it matches the temperament at this point of the series with the beginning of "The Rebellion"
I like that other bit of foreshadowing about the high collars. Definitely emphasizes that the security guy (I can't remember name) will be a strong tool for the empire.
Right. There is a lot of talk of “tightening” or “loosening” grips (which we have taken to mean choking) the. The emphasis on Karen’s and Dedra’s collars drives that home even more.
So happy it was Wullf Yularen in live action once more and be speaking!🙏🏽 as much as I like cameos in Star Wars some are on the nose but happy how Yularen was brought in smoothly
Syril sitting in a cubicle --> Microserfs, Star Wars style Excellent comment about Ahsoka/Fulcrum and Luthen listening to Ahsoka's voice! As far as Mon Mothma, Perrin feels the heat and backstabs her, reporting her to his friends to save his own hide. Mon Mothma then has to evacuate Coruscant with Luthen, and eventually runs off with her other friend who has connections. End of marriage.
And the one thing that I mentioned a week or 2 ago about Bail Organa's Rebellion was exposed by Dedra Meero in Episode 7. She mistakenly thought that the theft of the Starpath Unit was part of a Rebel effort. And when she tried to prove it and asked for a report of missing Imperial property across the galaxy, she found EXACTLY what Bail Organa has been doing for many years. She said: "There is a focused, organized effort to acquire highly-restricted Imperial military components." Then said, ""i can now prove a link between the theft if our most secret equipment and its distrubution to rebel groups across the galaxy." Bail Organa had been refitting for combat, small innocuous ships, and freighters that you might ordinarily think nothing of at first with stolen Empirial military equipment. Ezra and Kanan were stealing from the Empire weapons that even the Empire was not allowed to have in the 2nd episode of Rebels, and that's what made him interested in knowing who they were so that he secretly kept tabs on them for at least a year afterward. Deedra might have been mistaken about the Starpath Unit, but it did lead her to what she wanted to know about, the Rebellion, the real Rebellion that Organa has established. That ragtag group on Aldhani were not part of the Rebellion. They were being used as a fallback plan to give the Empire a little sting, and to probably fund a larger attack against the Empire in the name of rebellion.
I’m quite sure separatists is what they would call rebels. To the empire and people of the empire, it would seem like they won the civil war then the war progressed into a guerrilla war stage with new cells on different planets. There’s no clue they are distinct from separatists.
OK, I went back to make sure. Did anyone else notice when Cass knocked on Bix's window he used "Shave and a Haircut" as their signal? Man, that sting's older than I thought.
Aaaigh! I just realized who plays Tay Kolma! It’s Ben Miles. He played Patrick in the BBC show Coupling. It’s been killing me all day!! I loved all the non-humans at the resort.
It’s wonderful to see him here and I hope he gets much more screen time. He was also in Netflix’s The Crown, where he played first love interest for Queen Elizabeth’s younger sister during the first 2 seasons. I thought he was great in that, even if I kept expecting him to be a bit dim! 😂 I wonder if some of that might be affecting me now, because I kept wanting to scream at “Patrick” every time he forgot his fake smile. I’m wondering if he can be trusted to maintain a ruse successfully. Still….so happy to find him here!
The Empire’s plan to increase taxes on trade routes reminds me of Netflix’s plan to begin charging for shared passwords… it will backfire in their face 😂
5:30 it makes sense why Luthen would want this. If he wants the common people on his side shit has to get a lot worse for them to have enough reason to fight. Only when the masses are uncomfortable and suffering would anything have traction galaxy wide
Fuel purity is a good gig, the pay is good, the work environment is low stress, it is really amazing how fuel from all over the galaxy can be brought to the same purity levels for use anywhere in the galaxy. I take great pride in identifying vendors that are providing a great product and helping to improve those that aren't. I hope all these people find a way to get along, its a shame hearing about all these people getting killed and millions of credits in property being destroyed.
I know this sounds rough, but I seriously hope things get even worse for Cassian. He states in RO how he's been "in this fight since he was 6 years old!", I mean, it hasn't exactly been a joyride for him so far, but I think to pay off that quote, quite a bit more needs to happen to him. That said, this series is 🔥 🔥 🔥 Who knows, maybe we'll get more in-series flashbacks that tell us stuff we don't already know about what's happened to him..
This show has been a delight after watching She-Hulk lol… Seriously tho what a great follow up to last weeks top tier episode. Everyone has been amazing even Syril and his overbearing mother. My favorite scenes were Mon Mothma’s convo with Luthen and Tay.
One thing you missed was mentioning when Mon Mothma was talking to Tay Kolma, she specifically told him not to discuss this with her husband Perrin is not in on her plans, and that he is not to be trusted! She is hardcore into the job of organizing the rebellion, doesn't even trust her own husband.
It's interesting that in the world where the Empire rules Syril's attributes have landed him where he is, like he's being punished. I hope he realizes this world is failing him, not the other way around, and ends up joining the rebellion. Andor being imprisoned by the Empire "for doing nothing" is ironic when actually he helped steal 80 million credits from them. It's like Palpatine's rule is so absolute he's even in control of coincidence.
the whole “joke” about the sentence is not how long it is. It’s more about the fact that he actually caused his own sentence by being the one to make the empire change the laws in the first place yet he gets picked up for sweating and not for the massive robbery he had just committed 😂
I think the sister is the blond woman from the ISB. There has been some cuts in earlier episodes where they were mentioning him looking for her, and then they cut to the blond lady.
Saw Guerrera and Luthen Rael would make a great team. And Mothma is more on the pacifist side. She doesn't like how those 2 operate. That guerrilla stuff isn't cool to her. I don't know why, but there seems to still be something called Separatist. I noticed that Jun Sato made a false claim of being with something Separatist, and I had been wondering about it for months, and then I hear it again last night. Now I'm curious. There must be some small remnants of the Separatist Movement, or something that originated with that movement, that's still in existence.
I love the show but I feel the show forced an inconsistency with Andor's character in this episode. At least with him getting captured. Andor has shown to be a very savvy and a street wise person up to this point. He was just involved in a big heist against the Empire. I think he would do his darn best to avoid getting arrested. I don't see him hanging out on a planet that had imperial officers patrolling around, and if he did see any imperial officers he would leave that area in flash. Andor is street wise enough to realize something illegal had gone down with those other people running past him. It would be more realistic to Andor's character to see him return straight back to his room and wait until the heat had cooled off.
It was a good episode getting to the building rebellion also Debra got some back up and niamos was like a Miami and California Esque planet more modern in the Star Wars franchise
Loving the slow rise of the rebellion, as Sheldon Cooper would say. The story of a 🐸frog “that's put in a pot of water that's heated so gradually he doesn't realize he's boiling to death”.🙀
I think it’s appropriate to finally show Emperor Papeltine being briefed by Imperial officers as to certain events taking place on other systems, such as rebel activity. It shows he has a much bigger job than just hunting down Jedi and recruiting Sith.
I don’t know why, but I feel like it’ll be dark, like her family will betray her and they will die but it’ll be them that look like the rebels and she’ll continue being a senator until we get closer to the rebels timeline… make sense?
I'm not fully versed in Star Wars canon/lore, but could Dedra actually be Cassian's long lost sister? P.S. I need more red droid interactions. lol P.S.S. This episode has shown us the quickest drive-thru "due process" legal system I think I've EVER seen. lmbo
@@MrDshack soooooo no hair dye in Star Wars? You make a good point, I just feel like they could work it in somehow. Or even the Kleya character. idk...just spit balling ideas/theories
@@MrTresBN They could definitely work it in but that would be a plot contriviance. For now the series managed to avoid such mistakes and I hope it stays that way. Not everybody in that galaxy is related (even if the movies seem to suggest so!) 🙂
Good to see so much world building. I hope it pays off, worries me that not everyone is watching this and it may reinforce in Disney the idea that what fans want is simple crap rather than a real, complex, living world. Tis very cool to see the opinions of rich coreworld players like Mon Mothmas friend. In the main cannon you never really see much of the core beside Coruscent and you could almost forget these are the other very rich, very advanced human core worlds where the Empire's mindset is completly at odds with everything they've been about for thousands of years.
The Imperial guy (Yularon?) seemed very noble and kind (albeit very professional) in the Clone Wars show. He sure drank the Empire Kool-Aid. Bad leadership creates bad people.
0:38 I don't want to see Palpatine at all in this series, none of them, maybe only Leia. I like this all new faces approach, seeing a different side and how the rebellion reached to Rogue One. Those characters have gotten enough screen time, Star Wars need a new look.
I read a series of books back in the day, with Thrawn and clone of Luke. The emperor had a tree planted that was a recording device in Mon Mothma building of some kind. It was mentioned in episode of a leak and many frames where there was a tree in the background inside the office..... ????? Maybe?
Is it just me or does the music playing when we first see the beach planet at the end of the episode sound a little like "Scarif Beach Party" song from the lego star wars special. Not exactly the same but close.
It is the Blaster Pistol that Solo uses in the shop, without the mod attachment on the front, like a silencer almost. I am surprised you did not realize that, what is with people today, first why files guy sats Feu Fighters was random, when it was because Feu is Fire in French and they looked like fire in the sky. Second, you missed the easiest Blaster we should all recognize, Solo blaster without mods, come on guys!
5:15 this character I like a lot. She is extremely smart, unfortunately she is on the wrong side. But that's how I am, doesn't matter which side character is on, once you're good I give credit. The character & actress is delivering well.
havent seen ep 7 yet but based on the thumbnail and how it says palpatine scenes im gonna assume that no sooner than Andor dealt with Skeen did he now have to deal with Palpatine, lightsaber drawn, coming in for a cut of that 80 million credits as well

The heist really can be perceived as an announcement, but it's not in the least what Dedra meant when she said i
6:22 I doubt it's Ashoka's voice on the comm. There's no way she's the only person doing comms for an organization as large as the rebellion.
I think its a fair guess, the Rebellion wasnt as linked as we see in the OT until Mothma gives her speech in Rebels- Ahsoka as Fulcrum was a mainplayer at this time, hope we see more of it in her show
This is an amazing series, this episode had a Cold War East/West Berlin vibe.
Eh more post ww2 Germany
@@ev17dan that’s kind of the same thing. But I’m thinking more ‘60-70s
So correct. This writing and execution is impeccable. So much better than last 3 Star Wars films.
Cassian going to jail is not for nothing. That power-thirsty beach trooper got the man himself and didn't even know it. That's great writing once again for this show.
Yeah, he got arrested for walking while sweating ;-)
I think Dedra is Andor's sister. If you look closely she's not a natural blonde and as you said they're most likely going to end up on opposing sides.
Wasn’t he an admiral? Charlie said colonel but he was admiral in the other shows.
the subtitles in the show said Yularen so yep its him!
@@krislucas8761 He transferred from the Navy to the ISB and received the rank of Colonel. "Admiral" was his Navy rank.
Logos to know! When did that happen?
It was a cool deep cut bringing him to live action!
What an episode love seeing more of the empire side.
Syril sitting in a cubicle --> Microserfs, Star Wars style
Excellent comment about Ahsoka/Fulcrum and Luthen listening to Ahsoka's voice!
I’m not sure if it was mentioned before, but I saw a gungan shield in Luthen’s shop
Is it just me , but didn’t Cleya look like she is Princess Leia?
I assumed it was a deliberate fake out due to the Leia vibes
Yeah, she looks like Leia, but Leia would already be well known in politics at that point because of her family.
Did anyone notice how Jango Fett's armor was gone out of Luthen's shop this episode? Wasn't in its usual spot.
Historically rebellions don't start with a bang, they start with a whisper, after a horrific event.
I didn't realize that was Yularin in the episode! I prob should've known though considering it's the ISB.
"6 years for bein' weird" got me bruh.
😆😆😆
I recognised him as well from Coupling I'm like hey its Patrick in Star Wars 🤯
Thanks for the reminder about the soul-crushing job thingy..
Would love to hear the history on some of the pieces, especially the Plo Koon mask. I know the chances of that happening are 3720 to 1.
It could be a single episode deal, kind of like those Star Wars fly-bys. That would be awesome!
Where is 11:43 from? Before the third movie?
I love how accurate your references and details are in regards to all the other shows and where the characters appeared etc 👊🏻
Detra is probably Andor's sister, she is different than other ISBs
I like how they're building up Syril to (hopefully) something major. He's like that serial killer getting short scenes in the Mindhunters.
6:36 she should cameo to set up her series. She did in Bubba Fet, well Mando 2.5 😂🤣
In this episode around time stamp 9:17 two items to the left of the Jedi Temple Guardian Armor is that a version of a Kalikori
Better picture of it at 10:11. Also what is in carbonate in the back room at 9:27?
the whole “joke” about the sentence is not how long it is. It’s more about the fact that he actually caused his own sentence by being the one to make the empire change the laws in the first place yet he gets picked up for sweating and not for the massive robbery he had just committed 😂
Would be pretty cool if the rebel speaking with Vel was Cassians sister...
But that's Luthen's Shop Assistant ...
I think the sister is the blond woman from the ISB. There has been some cuts in earlier episodes where they were mentioning him looking for her, and then they cut to the blond lady.
The arrest of Andor was a social commentary of our own law enforcement, very good tension and innuendo going on in this show.
Those damn armed IRS agents.
It would be more realistic to Andor's character to see him return straight back to his room and wait until the heat had cooled off.
interesting episode. How ironic that Andor gets arrested for doing nothing when he's actually one of the culprits.
Aren't ethnic minorities always suspect? I guess the show DOES reflect the world we live in haha
It was a good episode getting to the building rebellion also Debra got some back up and niamos was like a Miami and California Esque planet more modern in the Star Wars franchise
A Star Wars Risa?
Loving the slow rise of the rebellion, as Sheldon Cooper would say. The story of a 🐸frog “that's put in a pot of water that's heated so gradually he doesn't realize he's boiling to death”.🙀
Alan Tudyk is listed in the IMDB credits for the show, I don't know if it means anything.
8:11 I did wonder where they got money to fund them, this surely explained that 😂
Been waiting all day! Thanks
Thanks! Lots of stuff to cover in this episode!
P.S. I need more red droid interactions. lol
P.S.S. This episode has shown us the quickest drive-thru "due process" legal system I think I've EVER seen. lmbo
It's not in the canon or the lore - yet. We're watching that lore being established. But I don't think she's his sister. And I hope she's not.
The Kenari kids were all quite dark skinned and dark haired like Diego Luna is so doesn’t make sense for Dedra to be from there.
Not everybody in that galaxy is related (even if the movies seem to suggest so!) 🙂
@@Peterski lol. 👍🏾
Admiral Yularen's first appearance was in A New Hope, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe Filoni gave him a name.
I doubt Luthen was talking to Ahsoka cause she wouldn’t order someone to kill.
This is series is different class. Just brilliant.
Thank you for this video.
Best Star Wars content ever!!!
Such an awesome episode! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I read a series of books back in the day, with Thrawn and clone of Luke. The emperor had a tree planted that was a recording device in Mon Mothma building of some kind. It was mentioned in episode of a leak and many frames where there was a tree in the background inside the office..... ????? Maybe?
I love how this show is exploring the everyday life of Star Wars.
Is it just me or does the music playing when we first see the beach planet at the end of the episode sound a little like "Scarif Beach Party" song from the lego star wars special. Not exactly the same but close.
Wasn’t Yularen an admiral in the navy? How’d he get demoted to colonel??
Maybe the Empire changed the rank system? Or he had to work his way up again in the new political situation.
"The Republic will be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire!"
Was waiting for this breakdown
No problem!
I can't wait for the next episodes🔥🤙🏻😀
Awesome! My Andor Episode 8 video will post next week!
@@emergencyawesome 👌🏼
Yes, I'm already looking forward to it, as always🤙🏻😁
5:15 this character I like a lot. She is extremely smart, unfortunately she is on the wrong side. But that's how I am, doesn't matter which side character is on, once you're good I give credit. The character & actress is delivering well.
havent seen ep 7 yet but based on the thumbnail and how it says palpatine scenes im gonna assume that no sooner than Andor dealt with Skeen did he now have to deal with Palpatine, lightsaber drawn, coming in for a cut of that 80 million credits as well
