Attitude. Skills. Plan.
I’ve said it 20 times on here. LAPD needs to have their cops wear shoulder mics. The fact that they consistently one-hand it with their radio in one and gun in the other is absolutely insane to me.
That aside, these guys did great work.
I know right! Somebody upgrade their gear!
Nypd runs the same gear. Makes no sense at all
B...But tradition!
Can't they just buy their own gear? They shouldn't have to..but still
Like with the mic always on? Seems like 100+ voices at once will be very confusing.
glad he nailed the asphalt temp challange like a pro
Sure did! He displayed dedication and superb technique.
@Florian R.B. its okay, i nailed your dad like a pro tho
BEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE LIKE A PRO.
Every judge gave him 10 out of 10! Perfect score. 😂
like he was born for that moment
That guy in the blue shirt next to the victim could tell something wasn’t right and started to walk away. Great intuition and he listened to it.
"Wounds proved fatal"music to my ears.
Dude just standing on the wall is the definition of "Not my Problem " 🤣
"Not my monkeys. Not my circus."
That bystander definitely looked hit. They way he dropped down and appeared to struggle crawling away. Hope he’s okay.
More than likely he isn't a sane sober moral prudent person for being shot at like that.
@@dancollins8296 Not up to us to make that judgment.
@@dancollins8296 So the victims of crazy people and mass murders are only insane and immoral people? You are either stupid or crazy.
@@dancollins8296 I guess all gas station workers and neighborhood watch folks that have been shot up are more than likely not sane sober moral prudent persons then.

Dude at 1:20 didn't flinch a muscle, clearly isn't the first time he's seen someone get into a shoot out with police in that neightborhood.
lol he moved his leg a lil
Training Day area, lots of Mexican shootouts last 22 years
Or it was the first time he’s seen someone get into a shootout, and froze like a deer
@@MegaSpacemanSpliff when someone is in a shootout In front of you?
I’m guessing he’s Deaf and blind.. He never even flinched from the noise, I jump when my wife opens the cinnamon rolls !!!!
As a rule, I try to run the opposite direction from where the cops are running.
@@Rico401Prov and wait for that ricochet or stray rounds coming from the direction they're headed? No thanks.
I can understand why the bystander didn't want to run if he saw a cop shooting at some guy running right in front of him. He stood still as to say I'm not a criminal.
Fright, flight or freeze. Bystander chose chill
he prolly just didn't wanna get shot for running 😆
You two break it down in a way thats admissable in court!
And sometimes we do! :)
5:23 Those that complain about a perp running away and getting shot in the back need to watch this vid.
love the guy that's just standing there 😂
This is my old neighborhood good to see it hasn’t changed 😂
Mr Blue Shirt saw it coming and bounced.
This is a picture perfect moment of someone who completely deserved to be wasted by the police, well done to the officers that responded to this situation
Bless you guys! Love ASP lessons! 👍👆
Imagine living however many years, to do some dumb shit like this, and then die by some old recliners sitting outside
Right at the front of the pickup the officer needed to stop and take a shooting stance at 1:22. Very easy shot.
And the bystander in white pants uncrossed his leg and scooched his butt closer to hug the wall. Then looked up on his device "how to make yourself smaller in a gunfight"
Great job, officers!
John is pulling a Tom Cruise by standing on a block 😂😂
the random dude heard all those shots, seen the suspect run pass him and get into a shootout with police and never moved an inch 😂
So much to learn and to be prepared for anything!
Two things LAPD needs... 1st most obvious is the PTT so they dont have to put a mic in their hands when they are fighting, radio is their lifeline and if you drop it because you are having to pull it from its carrier can have horrible results. second thing is a sensor for their Duty holster, so when they draw their weapon it activates their body cam. My small town department of 7 Officers have these things. They should too.
Divine intervention. Do the right thing because justice can be immediate on your hind parts.
Counter-Point: God picked the unarmed person to die.
This is a nasty area of LA in terms of crime. Literally about 15 to 20 different gangs smoking each other out every night. Some call it Rampart, others call it Pico-Union.
This is why more people need to get trained and be armed. A random criminal out to commit violence and people flee and wait for the police. Instead of stopping the threat.
"A militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed."

I dig the 80s handheld radio. LAPD living in the past. I wonder if they will bring the K frame back to match the radios...
I wish we can see this in Chicago
Notice how you can hear the dispatcher call the suspect a victim LOL that's Los Angeles for you

“Victim down” lol I think the dispatcher should say “suspect down”
Almost exactly how I was saved after getting shot up. A cop pulled up to a red light as I was getting hit with the final rounds from a coward, cop was about 30 yards away, heard the shots and hit his lights and headed towards us. The cowards jump back into their car and took off. Cop took off after them, I'm guessing he radioed it in cause a bunch of other cops showed up within minutes to throw me into the backseat of a police car to rush me to the nearest hospital. To this day I truly believe if that cop wasn't there, the coward would had walked up over top of me to finish me off. Cops being at the right spot at the right time is a rare thing, but when it does happen, it saves lives.
I forgot to say, yes, cops do pick up shooting and stabbing victims and rush them to the hospital. I can't speak on all cities, but here in Philly cops call it the "Scoop-and-run". They saved many, and I mean many lives ever since they implemented that technique by allowing cops to pick victims up and rush them to the hospital, every minute counts, so waiting on an ambulance, odds of surviving drops. I truly believe that every city should implement that rule for allowing cops to do that, it does save lives.
Great looking out by the P.D!
Thank you very much...
I don't blame the bystander 1:19 for not moving to run away. There is no telling that if he would have decided to run away also, the officers may have thought him to be an accomplice and shoot him too. Sometimes it makes sense not to bolt. Another reason could be that this person is de-sensitized....meaning nothing scares, nothing shocks the senses anymore.
Besides, where is a safe place to go to? On a long wall. No cover, only potentially concealment behind the cars.
Wow great video!
Wow! That's actually an amazing bird eye view that guy had
Perfect outcome.
Well....what great timing.
Police on the ball at this one.
And the bonus is, not going to be released on a bond... great shot as well.
Be safe..be ready. 1875 Law.
Another one bites the dust. Good job officers
Good old Rampart Division, great job, guys.
Thank you John
you have been the only channel ive seen that knows how bodycams work and that the police did not mute the audio but thats how the bodycam functions. so many other channels labels it as police editing the video to mute it idk why
Thank you officers for saving us on court costs 👍🏿
The bystander was just waiting for the right moment to jump on his Escape Skateboard, parked ready for his getaway in the parking spot right in front of him!
Got to admit, I like when the perp takes the concrete temperature challenge.
Glad that guy didn't make it. Karma came around quick.
Los angles born n raised
The men n women of the LAPD are pretty chill cops especially the crash unit
Good job officers
That still frame. You got the flash and bullet nice lol
I was once hunting with friends. 4 of us, we got split up.
After a few minutes I heard what sounded like bees flying by. My buddy whom I was with, just got out of the army was with me. As I looked his direction to see what is going on. He had hit the dirt, me just standing there with these bees flying by , realizing there not bees!
I took forever to meet the ground . 😅
Thank goodness this cop had a partner.
Terrific police work!
@@phillhuddleston9445 Your comments all over this video seem to believe cops can see the future, round corners, and can time travel. Police are a reactionary force, when they can’t see what is happening they don’t know it happened. They saw the gunman after as he ran towards them. Do you really expect them to see someone pull a gun on someone a block away around a corner?
Nice Shoot'n in the Wild West!
I disagree about the bystander. If he took off running he would turn himself into another target for the cops.
Oops!! He wasn’t expecting that cop car lol!! Made the worst mistake of his life
Nice job. Cheap justice and no wasted money in the system. Imagine what society could be done with all of the funds wasted on these thugs.
0:56 looks like a successful defensive knife use. You can see the spark from the bullet hitting something on his hip.
I live two blocks from where this happened, I don't let my wife go outside after dark and I ALWAYS carry wherever I go cuz this happens quiet often.
Bystander just looking for a hit for a lawsuit.
What is the reason for the buffering of sound on cop badge cams? Seems counter productive to me. A cop could yell _"Police stop running"_ and then shoot but it would look like he just opened fire.
When the camera goes on so should the mic.
The camera is in continuous video record, but only saving (in a buffer) the last 30 - 120 seconds until placed into "event mode". There is no delay when the audio capture begins. Beginning of audio capture indicates when full continuous recording was initiated. The buffered video is simply added to the beginning of the recording. LAPD needs to change their settings to factory default of 30 seconds. They also need to start as soon as exiting the car, not during a full sprint.
Run, Run, Run at training--> then go to the shooting stand (cover/ concealment), then GET IT OUT, GET IT ON, then assess your target// threat.
Open communications with partner.
[ at Grand Jury; always tell the truth without comparing incident w/ the other involved LEO]. HOPE they received a department commendation. BRAVO.

The Revenue from traffic citations is the sole purpose for patrol from Governments eyes. Any crime in progress is incidental & not priority by any means. Most officers are told not to abandon a lucrative stop to chase petty criminals.
The best shots ,are the ones that hit target
Hearing Rampart reminded me of the Adam 12 TV show.
When I saw the bodycam footage, I became melancholic. It reminded me of my 1996 webcam...
Kickin ass and taking names

Lots of cops in that side of town. Trust me, they are needed.
I like how the innocent guy became part of the wall.
This is what’s known as instant karma
Having to turn on badge cam and holster radio while running, giving verbal commands, not getting shot, and safely shooting - I ain’t gonna ding him for failing to activate his weapon mounted light.
Crazy story
Too bad the police cant see me clapping and cheering for them. Good job officers.

Crazy
Oooooff those LEO were working in the varrio. I know this area very, very well.
What is the reasoning/justification for the 2 min buffer? Seems like a bad idea.
Police cameras are designed to be in a constant recording loop. So, whenever the officer remembers to activate his camera (too many times the incident is a surprise) it will have a 2 minute buffer (different departments/different equipment/different buffers) where it keeps the video of the prior 2 minutes before the officer hit "record". It helps give the incident a little background but it does not record sound to prevent police operations/procedures/tactics from being out in the general public whenever possible and to save cloud space, yes it is expensive and police departments pay millions of dollars to store hours of video
Wow that officer couldn’t hardly breathe after that 50-100 yard sprint..
LOL, COL, dude just stays near the shot being directed towards him, "Just another day in S@#$%3hole LA"

Don't they have emergency alert on radio or camera.. to pin point gps, camera on and relay to dispatch, then relayed to other cops near by?
Agree keep them on patrol
Bro caught the cyberpunk 2077 cops
Also, if I had been shot at then someone else is pointing a gun at me, still disoriented from the gunfight, I wouldn’t throw my gun down either. Although, of course, I know, that isn’t the case here!
That LEO needs cardiovascular conditioning. I understand he is amped. He only ran 25 yards.
