    Sadly people who carry like this are the reason I carry. I often have my wife and daughter in the car and it is a scary feeling knowing I can't protect my family if someone has a gun. The couple shouldn't have gotten out to retaliate but tbh if I'm being followed like that I'm not pulling into a walmart parking lot. I'm pulling into the nearest police station while on the phone with an operator and my wife recording. If I can't make it to a police station then I will drive as defensively and safely as possible and if our cars come to a halt I will try to be the first with my gun drawn and out of the car making sure my family is safe.

    A woman will get you shot. I had an incident the other day where a guy was riding my bumper and changing lanes back and forth in a race to get to the next stop light. He finally went around me and then whips it so close I had to slam on my brakes or he would have hit the front of my truck. It was weird because we were just rolling in traffic like everyone else maybe 45mph.
    We got up beside him at the next stop light and he had his window down screaming and yelling at me about driving slow. Blah blah. When I am by myself I don't engage with them. I don't roll down the window. I don't even look at them. My wife rolls down her window and starts yelling at the guy. An older bald headed dude. He got so P'd off and red in the face. She just kept running her mouth making him madder. Every time I rolled up the window she would roll it back down. He started getting out of his truck at one point. I finally screamed at her to shut the F up and he probably has a gun. When we got home I had a LONG talk with her about engaging crazy road-ragers. I learned a lot from this channel right here and I showed her a couple of videos. I asked her if she would do that if she was driving by herself and she said no. So I said OK you wanna get me shot.? Or get me put in the hospital.? He's not going to beat your ass, he's coming after me.

In the world people don’t follow the same values that you do, and having a simple argument could very easily end up with you or someone else hurt or worse because of it and road rage is just one of those instances where someone always has a chance of getting hurt. This is my issue with guns being as easily accessible as they are. Any lunatic can get a gun for "self protection" and then use it like this. Taunt people into a fight in hopes of getting to gun them down. Thank you John for always giving us these videos so that we know what kind of people are out there.

      I don't believe that this is the mindset of "many people" once they get a gun. Some people yes, but these are the exception and are criminally minded. I also don't mind guns being easily accessible. They should be. That just means that all of us responsible / good, sane, sober, moral, prudent individuals get to nullify the force multiplication of criminal behavior. This guy's behavior is criminal and he should be prosecuted and sentenced as such. Strict gun laws just make it more likely that the people who are criminal in nature and who are infinitely more likely to act like this will be the only ones with guns since they do not follow the law. We don't need more gun laws, in fact I would argue we need less. What we do need is firearm education and the enforcement of the laws already on the books for criminals like this which has been utterly lacking in recent years and is responsible for our horrible crime statistics. I wonder what the police department in Pleasant Grove, Utah has done about this? A good police department would track down people like this and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. It would not be too hard and would certainly help prevent future criminal activity and make society safer.

      @ripztubig4457 Год назад +1

      @@pleydoh8541 if you watch these videos a lot, you would know it's a very common occurrence. And it happens more in states that there are loose laws. Majority of these crimes happen in states like Texas where you can get a gun no problem. Also, gun laws don't mean "no guns for good guys", it means it takes more steps than just being old enough to purchase one. Many countries, like Japan, have very strict gun laws that require you to be interviewed by local police, have a couple testimonials from your friends or family, and go through an application process before receiving a firearm. If you would so care to look at the data, it has worked wonderfully as now their gun violence rates are virtually zero. Crazy that the NRA doesn't ever mull this over, because they have too much money to be made in America. Convince everyone that they need a gun to survive, and now there are so many guns in our country, it's all but impossible to get away from them now. Loosening gun laws will do nothing but increase guns in the hands of people who are unwilling to be sane/moral/prudent people and use them as an equalizing factor in an argument.

Freedom has always been a dangerous/risky endeavor, and I'd rather trust individuals in society to police themselves than a political class that has absolutely lost their freaking minds, and I mean that about both major political parties. I am a moderate, independent person, and in looking up statistics related to our conversation I am struck with how all the data seems to come from centralized sources with obvious manipulation of the statistics. For instance, how gun deaths are how things are labelled instead of gun homicides. Most gun deaths in this country are from suicide. 2/3 of gun deaths in Texas are suicide. The suicide rate is going up drastically. This is manipulation of data, and is ignoring a much larger issue by trying to import suicide data into gun violence data and skewing perception. Comparing Japan to the USA in almost any category isn't an apples to apples comparison considering the vastly homogenous demographics of their country compared to us. The real issue is not gun control, it's societal decline (purposeful from my vantage point). So unless we start making efforts as a society to understand the obvious purposeful destruction of American values / Family values, the COVID conspiracy, the effective violation of our first amendment rights via censorship/canceling, the normalization of destructive behaviors, and the manipulation/control of information through a corrupt government in collusion with big tech and the media, and a whole plethora of other related topics, we cannot understand what the actual problem is. as someone who lives in the great state of texas and carries everyday, we need to be safe, responsible and respectful. we do not escalate road rage, we do not throw rocks at individuals. we simply dont look for problems and then stick our gun in peoples face. get off the alcohol get off the drugs don’t endanger everyone. its not even about guns, why cant people walk out of their homes and behave decently why is that so difficult

    I've experienced some major road rage (I live in a major city/metro area), but the two worst examples were on I-95 near Baltimore (lady almost wrecked her car with a little kid on the backseat while screaming at us, she ultimately almost clipped an 18 wheeler), and a stalker on I-70 in the mountains of Colorado (he kept getting off the roadway and coming back up, trying to wave us onward up to him, but the Sheriff put a BOLO/APB out on him). Just stay cool, and think the situation through, you can handle it at various levels without needing to directly engage. Also, think of your family first. My Old Man taught me many different ways to handle various situations, and he grew up tougher than anyone I know, but he's also smart, and he's lived to a ripe old age, so I know that the proof of his ways is a wisdom I must learn.

  • @coolgranddad5430
    @coolgranddad5430 Год назад +7

    Totally agree with you John, de-escalation IF POSSIBLE. Thing I've noticed is when I was young, if there was an issue like this you might hear some f-this, f-that, middle finger and both would drive off. Now, I've noticed the "perceived offended" person won't let it go. They'll follow you all over the place, cut in front of you to block you and make you exit your vehicle to fight, sometimes they try to run you off the road. People don't let it go anymore, they're itching for a fight, that never happened when I was young, just didn't escalate.
    Also, a recommendation is to pull into a police station (if you happen to be lucky enough to pass one that is) or call the police. I have numerous employees/friends/acquaintances and such who have tried this, they all tell me the police never show up, they don't seem to care, it's not a priority. Police nowadays give priority to an LGBTQ+ person who has received a perceived insult or as they call it "hate speech" directed towards them. That WILL have the police show up super fast. Basic law & order issues are not a priority to police departments today.
    Road rage is much harder to deal with today, you get some crazy guy on your tail who's itching for a fight, police don't care to respond you're on your own.

    • @jessegardner33
      @jessegardner33 Год назад

      You think the cops are diverting emergency services towards combating hate speech? You're told that they dont respond to calls about being followed and fearing for your life but they ARE doing something about hate speech? IF THEY CANT PROTECT A RANDOM CITIZEN FROM A LEGITIMATE CALL THEN THEYRE DOING SHIT ALL ABOUT HATE SPEECH YOU DONUT. They're too busy oppressing the public for revenue and circlejerking eachother as heaven sent sheepdogs to give a fuck about the lgbtq community getting hate speech, I know, cause I get death threats and told to kill myself almost daily and the cops won't do shit about it 😂 quit lying and do some critical thinking. The cops aren't your friends in the first place, they want to hem you up on anything they can stick so they can shuffle you into their for profit prison systems and make out on the backs of the disenfranchised and exploited
