I was terrified and didn’t understand what was going on… until I realized his blood sugar was VERY LOW (type 1 diabetic). Luckily a cop was in the right place at the right time. At a stop light I jumped out of my dads car which caused my dad to grab my by the shirt and scream “no!”. In other words, assuming he knew he’d been diagnosed with PTSD, he should have realized that he’d be better off NOT CCW since he’d know he’d have the potential to road rage or get easily triggered.
Some may think that sounds unreasonable, but I personally avoided CCW for many years because I knew I could fall into a moment where I lose control. I didn’t want to have the means to do irreversible damage to lives (mine or others) if I was triggered. Vet or not, PTSD or not, he was irresponsible (I think we all agree on that). If unkind words or even a threatening word comes your way, and your reaction is to take out your gun and point it, you should never own a gun. Guns are for when your life or the lives of others are in imminent danger.
