I've seen this video many times, never in it entirety. I previously came to the conclusion that the truck driver did what he had to. Now I see otherwise, two wrongs dont make a right. This could have easily been avoided, he jeopardized multiple innocent bystanders. They both deserve charges!
Pickup driver deserves harsher charges. As for the Nissan driver: yes, he shouldn’t have cut him off. But after he cut him off, he sped off away from the pickup. When the Nissan driver saw that the pickup driver was chasing him, he felt threatened and rightfully so. While he did commit a crime by displaying his firearm, from the video it appears that he did it out of fear and out of a desire to get the guy in the pickup to back off. Because if you pay attention, the Nissan driver showed his gun, put it away, and hit the gas. This tells me that he wasn’t looking for a fight. Overall, the proper thing for the Nissan driver to do would be not to cut off the pickup. And for the pickup driver not to give chase to the Nissan, instead, calling the cops.
I saw the whole video. Well before the Nissan cut off the truck, the truck driver had his eyes on him when the Nissan was far behind him. He tells his friend "look, hes fishtailing". The guy was driving aggressively but he wasn't doing anything to the guy in the truck. Then truck guy moves to the same lane as the Nissan, then brake checks him multiple times, throws his hands up aggressively and curses at the guy. The guy in the truck was looking for a fight and started it
This is why if somebody is driving like a tool I just let them go on, far, far ahead. It may hurt my ego sometimes, but that is only short term. Let them cause an accident or fight with someone else.
Thru my 20's, I use to be real hard headed about letting the type of person go, like the driver in the Nissan. Now that I'm 40, I just don't care. It's more important that I'm able to see and provide for my family.
That’s a good friend telling him to relax, never encourage someone to act violent when they are in a situation like this. The best thing to do is try and calm the driver down.
Yeah for real. Bad friend for putting him in that situation. I’d be really pissed and would never hang with that dude ever again. You could tell he was like nah Im getting the hell away from you
A weapon wasn't involved but I had a "buddy" engaging in some crazy ass road rage.. I don't know how many times I told him "relax brother, this isn't worth it" before he finally snapped out of it. Honestly this man is dangerous and he should be charged. Like the video said, he had MANY outs but decided to put other people in danger because he couldn't let his ego go.
He should become a cop. If this happened to an officer, they would have endangered hundreds of drivers on the road and chased him to the ends of the earth and filled his car with bullets. 😂
Been in a situation like this.... except we never cut him off to begin with. He was trying to run us off the road for 5 mins. Mind you we are in a big work truck with a trailer. We were recording, finally had to pull a firearm to get him to go away. So apologizing wouldn't do anything to someone who is already trying to kill you....
@II DEMON II Ears do not have "strength". ANY sound over approximately 135-140 decibels is causing instant hearing damage. You can get tinnitus from one exposure. Or your 10th or your 50th. It's pretty hard to kill someone in a moving vehicle while you are also in a moving vehicle shooting him with a pistol. On the other hand it's pretty easy to kill someone by blowing up his car.
I am an Orlando native who takes these roads frequently. They constantly get jammed up and the whole time I was watching this video I was glad to see they didn't stumble upon a traffic jam in the middle of this. That could've made this much worse.
The video starts on John Young, and they take the on ramp onto N 417, passing the OBT exit approaching the Turnpike interchange when the driver opens fire.
Right! Most people can’t hit anyone past 10-15 yards in a moment of stress, now your bullets are gonna deflect off the windshield and the wind will play a part ok your 90g- 230g round! He could have shot at the car and hit someone he completely wasn’t aiming for in this situation!
The other guy kept aiming a gun at him, he isn't psychic and can tell the other guy isn't trying to kill him with it. Besides, at the least he taught him a lesson as to why you should never point guns at people unless you have to.

Yes, in particular as a longer version of the video shows that he was escalating the conflict by break-checking the other driver. That's just two idiots who found each other.
@@nbaprince9330 it's not self defense if you can just remove yourself from the situation. He is chasing the guy when he could just pull over and deescalate.
@@nbaprince9330 I don't believe in "duty to retreat," but I don't even think this should be considered as a case of "standing your ground." He had the option to slow down and break contact. @@robertwilson8184 Exactly. It's not about retreating in a real self-defense situation. This, albeit usually being the smarter option, should never be obligatory. Here we just got two idiots both escalating the situation more and more. The other guy may have cut him first, but another video shows our Mr. Windshieldshooter break-checked the other idiot, which in my country is already an illegal maneuver and I guess in the US as well, then when the other guy had surpassed him and was basically gone, instead of letting him gone he chose to hit the gas pedal and chase the other guy. Both are idiots and should be charged for reckless behavior. The only real victim here is the passenger.
Seems that way. Almost like he had hope this day would come and he could be sure to capture every moment and every angle. His actions were stupid and dangerous.
I love cops, but truly believe that's also how some of the bad ones start their day. Makes me so sad to say it out loud. But the casual (even self-congratulatory) tenor of some LEOs in the act of taking a life suggests that I'm right.

The dummy shot up his windshield. Anyone who has seen any 1980's cop shows knows you roll down your driver side door window, stick your gun out and shoot like that.
@Bartholomew Roberts I think you should look up what Stand your Ground really means. From the 1:00 point in the video, Mr. Pickup driver becomes the aggressor, road rages, chases down the Nissan and escalates. He gets his gun out and is ready to use it before the Nissan guy even brandishes his. Thing about the Stand your Ground defense is you can't use it as legal protection if you are the aggressor or otherwise engaged in criminal acts at the time.
There should be no charges for the shooting. The guy clearly pointed a gun at him and it was pretty much random which ones of these guys was going to be shooting out/through their window first. You have to respect his right to defend himself at that point. But he should get his ass handed to him for the reckless driving leading up to it.
@@winstonsyme7672 Nope. The only way he's not even further in the wrong the then guy flashing the gun is if that guy had actually aimed it at him and started firing, which he didn't. You're got two morons road raging but only one moron dumb enough to actually open fire.

This guy cut the other guy off and the other guy gave him 🖕🏼on the way by, which he deserved, he then ran the Nissan down and escalated the situation!!
@Johnny Eyeball The other guy never fired a shot. He was speeding to get away. The guy that actually fired his weapon had to chase the guy down to blindly fire at him. You can't claim self defense if the threat has passed and you continue to chase after it.
@Johnny Eyeball Ok Rambo. Maybe the laws if your state allow you to pick a fight and claim self defense. Was he law enforcement? No, just guy looking to use his gun. How fast did have to speed to catch the guy? Watch it again
Mainly because the other car was pointing a gun out the window. Like the video says, that's agg assault and the driver can fear that he is going to get shot and its all on dash cam in clear view. Sure shooting through your windshield while driving is stupid but theres no laws against it in the line of self defense. Still dumb though if you can just drive away.

I was driving between the rows of sparsely parked cars, being careful because I am aware of, and have taken reports of, cars suddenly backing out and hitting passing cars.
The guy in the truck was looking for a fight and started it
The passanger showed he was willing to deescalate and didnt want it to escalate. He should have the ccw not the driver.
Very solid point.

Here we just got two idiots both escalating the situation more and more. Yeah, I get that...but you're shooting through your windshield...in a situation where you're not in immenent danger...at a car driving away from you...while going over 100mph...with no hands on the steering wheel...and now your eyes are closed...just such a runner-up Darwin award
Edit: just reread that comment and yeah, he's been here a few times before
He was shooting Frank Farmer style in the Bodyguard. Eyes firmly shut and using martial awareness to guide his shots.
Haha! But I think that only works in the woods with the twigs and total silence I think.
Use the force luke
Trying not to blind himself with glass lol
@@meeeeee423 First few shots through a windshield I would keep my eyes closed too, glass in the eyes is no joke.
That’s the highway right outside my house, crazy how it went down like that.
A woman backed out in front of me at the bank awhile back and when she saw me she threw her hands up and made the most comical face, like a cartoon character who sees a train (or what have you) about to crash into him. I laughed so hard there was no way I could get mad. I'll never forget her. 😁
My wife sends her apologies...

@@billmurray4430 that's funny. A cousin once told me she'd been approached by 3 girls as she walked home from work one evening and she knew they were up to no good. She was a young teen and this part of the family still lived in Chicago back then. Terrified and alone, all she could think to do was act "crazy," so she started acting like someone who'd escaped a psyche ward- said she started making strange noises, stayed wide eyed and was baring teeth. Might've even slobbered a bit. It worked and they left her alone! 😂 This was long before cell phones so I'd say she was pretty lucky she pulled it off.
next time have the camera ready, you are teasing us lol

At first, I was concerned about him driving 100 mph. Then I remembered it's Florida. He probably still got passed by semi's.
I've lost count of the number of times I've deliberately turned off or turned away and taken the long way to get away from idiots.
@@1234KeithB one grows up and keep the Rambo shit for real issues.
I describe how I drive defensively to avoid conflict, and though @Mike'S doesn't want to "insult" me, he goes on to arrogantly and self-righteously ASSUME that the problem driver is ME and suggest how I should get driver's education!! LOL
I drive defensively and have situation awareness, so I very often notice drivers who are road raging on OTHER drivers, so I make sure there is a lot of space between me and a situation that does NOT involve me.
The last time I had a driver angry at me was a few years ago in a mall parking lot. I was driving between the rows of sparsely parked cars, being careful because I am aware of, and have taken reports of, cars suddenly backing out and hitting passing cars.
As I was driving along, I become aware of a pick up truck just shooting through the lot, carelessly at a pretty fast speed through the rows and spaces between parked cars without any apparent regard for pedestrians or other vehicles. I stop where I am to wait for him to shoot past me from right to left, and as he is about to shoot across my bow he realizes I am in the lane. He slows to see what I am going to do, then continues right past me, about 20 feet away. He makes a point of looking at me and we make eye contact... and then he flips me his middle finger with an angry look. I just shook my head and drove on.
Geez, I just can't catch a break, years after retiring from the police I STILL get accused and blamed for shit that are not my fault or even involve me!! LOL
Your the idiot. Cops would of done exactly the same
@@mikes6216 You're assuming there aren't people out there who will cut you off without the right of way, then get mad at you like it's your fault. Geez.

People have got to STOP AND THINK! He fires shots at the guy through his own windshield because he was feeling upset over another car? This was insane!

Dude that drew first deserved to receive justice. Too bad pick up guy missed.
Cause he was pointing a gun

Maybe he is crazy or maybe he just had a split second to make a decision. It is easy to say do this or that until a gun is actually pointed at you.
@@bighands69 he had a near perfect advantage. The guy in the 350 would of had to fire backwards. This ain't grand theft auto!
@@wendellswendell2001
When a gun is pointed at you there is no such thing as a lucky shot there is just the threat and danger of the situation.
@@bighands69 who has a better shot? The guy shooting backwards in a sports car or the guy shooting forward in a truck? All at highway speeds? Are you on meth or just dumb?

We fight for one step forward and this is a reason why 10 steps backwards happens so fast. 😢
Cops would of done the same thing if not worse. Try it out and see

Hard to do, but the absolute best tactic.
