@@JohnDoe-zb5mt You clearly have no real life experience. If someone says "I'll be back" while making finger guns, they are most likely going to get a gun. Most black people do this by saying "hold on fam, I've got a present for you." As a life long martial artist who teaches self defense, you do NOT ignore that person. You either go inside and lock the doors until the police arrive, or you detain them until the police arrive (as he just made a threat which could be credible) better safe than sorry.
I'll be back is a trigger phrase, if you let him go get a weapon, then whatever happens is your fault after that. Best way is to follow them and slam them in the trunk\door. Broke 8 fingers on a guy that decided he could get the bat before I closed the trunk, wrong.
I completely agree. "I'll be back for you does not mean" I'm going to go get a gun. I'm not buying that explanation. The staff started this fight. Very unprofessional for the lady to be pointing, screaming, and pushing the customer out like that too.
@John Buck Any number of non violent threats appropriate for this situation like "I'll get your ass fired." In that video, the customer was actually less aggressive during the video altercation. That woman was the real aggressor.
The most important goal of physically defending yourself is not having a black belt or all the training in the world, it is having the understanding and will to hit/hurt someone with meaning. Once you overcome the fear of hurting someone, that is when a person is truly dangerous, and capable of defending themselves and others.
Yup, only “wrestle” in the ring, never outside on the cement. Too many variables, dude could have had a friend jump in or pulled a knife while rolling on the ground with you. Hit to injure as fast as you can. Eye gouge, break ankle or knee, anything to end it quick and get away.
The defender actually pushed him just off camera before the fight you can seem him push forward just as they leave the camera view, so was first hands on.
I don’t study anything (I know, I know). Two major reasons: full time work and family time and I have some injuries that prevent serious fights on the mat. I do t want to injure myself further during practice.
I hate to say it but the guy was actually walking away when the male staff member come out a shoved him. Honestly I’m surprised he got charged with assault.
@Richy G inside had cover and concealment and he was armed himself, he had the “high ground” and he gave it up due to ego. He was wrong to do so. You lack intelligence.
@Richy G I’ve been shot at, lots of times. Been arrested a few. I’d rather be shot at. It takes less time to get it over with. And I don’t see any relevancy to your comment. What exactly is your point?
@Richy GI do hope you’re not a cop. Maybe he had a gun and maybe he didn’t but he was walking away. Let’s pretend he did have a gun, do you think going out and shoving him is going to de escalate the situation or would it actually escalate things more? What did the staff member achieve? They had a scuffle and the tenant/home owner got up and walked away, something that he was doing before he was shoved. Now let’s pretend this guy maybe didn’t have a gun on him but maybe had one in his car or at home? The male member of staff could have just pushed a man who was already angry and allegedly making threats to shot well over the edge and any possibility of him calming down has now gone. The man didn’t come back with a gun and I’m pretty sure if he didn’t after being shoved and pinned to he ground he was never gonna come back or shoot anyone. One last thing, there is no audio on this video so the threats to shoot are just hearsay from the claimed victims But regardless coming out and shoving him was a dumb thing to do.
If you live in a major city, almost every neighborhood that you would consider living in is an HOA community. To get away from HOA’s you either have to live outside city limits or live in the lower income part of town.
Yeah, keep the door locked and stay in the building. That way, you keep the advantage. Going out to his truck out in the open, you no longer have the advantage. The truck owner has cover and you don't. Going out after him was not smart. That staff-member's ego is going to land him in jail or get him killed.
@Jon Jonson STOP SPREADING BS John did not say the guy acted like he pulled a trigger. Only said he pointed at them (HOA), then the HOA bully boy attacked him. Then the HOA bully boy let the guy go to his vehicle after he assaulted him?!
Yup, it took the egos of all three of these people to make this happen. If just one had kept their cool it probably would have de-escalated. At least no one was seriously injured.
It literally shows him push him. You just don't see the other guy. Yeah he started the physical confrontation. No reason to walk out, follow him and shove him. You can watch the dude in grey put his arms up and push the guy just off camera. He started the fight. Period.

@@DHMeister Yep. it would likely have been the end of it when he walked away, I would have locked the door, have the gal call the police while I got in a good position to defend. The police would have come 45 mins later, took a report and put a protection order on the guy so at least he would get charged if he came back. I also keep my anger in check while carrying, someone can cut me off in traffic etc. and I won't respond even with a middle finger because I don't want to escalate to a point I have to shoot someone.
As someone who has an HOA and has had to deal with said HOA, I was kinda pulling for the home owner here. And also, as someone who lived in NYC for several years, I learned that when they ask NEVER tell them that they don't have a weapon, you saw that result here. Tell them that you thought you saw something tucked under their shirt that they kept reaching for. Or I'm not sure but I think so, I saw something. In some cases that's the only way to get them to come in a timely manner, if at all.
The guy who came out the door pushed him. He started it, not the guy who was yelling. Doesn’t matter the situation, you shouldn’t touch nobody without expecting something. That guy did not deserve a fine and the gentleman who works there should be in question...
That was explained when said, "the guy claimed to have a gun". This means he was making at least a passive threat, if not then an active threat. Then it comes down to choices for the person being threatened. If they believe the threat credible and imminent they may want to get out ahead of the action stated in the threat. Overall, when people are arguing and someone says uses the fact that they have a gun to backup their position in the argument, then they can no longer hold a clear title of being the victim.
@@mac11380 The point I made was that we cannot know one way or the other what was right to do here. What did the guy say and gesture to the other guy exactly? We don't know. You can assume all you want, but I'll not do it.

I live in 1 of the most expensive areas in the entire country and it costs me about 1,500 for the year. I pay up front. Unlimited classes. About 130 a month. Comes out to about 5 dollars a day. You can try to make cut backs in other areas of your life. BJJ has a huge turn over rate. So the more money you put up front, the more they'll work with you. BJJ is really tough, the majority of people don't even make it to blue belt. Only about 1-2 percent of people make it to purple(next belt above blue).
Maybe in the city it's that much. I pay $50 a month for MMA, Kickboxing, No Gi and Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
No, the guy talking shit and when the defender came out the other guy rushed him
The most important goal of physically defending yourself is not having a black belt or all the training in the world, it is having the understanding and will to hit/hurt someone with meaning. Once you overcome the fear of hurting someone, that is when a person is truly dangerous, and capable of defending themselves and others.

One last thing, there is no audio on this video so the threats to shoot are just hearsay from the claimed victims
But regardless coming out and shoving him was a dumb thing to do.
