The video of this incident took place in 2013. If I remember correctly. It took place in Upper Manhattan. One of the instigators was undercover NYPD. He was charged and lost his job. The idiot who got run over ended up paralyzed, tried to sue, and had his lawsuit thrown out. He had a suspended license. If he had been adhering to the suspension, he'd have never been there and would still be able to walk to this day. I remember this incident. Lived in that area and drove those ways many times.
The motorcycle events were more like flash mobs or rallies than actual gangs, though gangs might have participated. Whenever they congregated like this their attitude was that they owned the streets and sidewalks and everyone better get out of the way (including cops). They had a motto: “don’t chase!” Which was a message aimed at the NYPD. And they felt that cars and other vehicles had no right to be on the road.
I no longer live in that area so I don’t have to deal with this behavior anymore, which is a relief. It was a periodic blight on an otherwise pleasant place to live.

If he would have gone left or right he would have made it to the GW Bridge which has tons of cops at the toll booth at the NJ end and two good highways for escape. Once he went back into the city he was doomed. These people were not from the city and may not have been as familiar with escape routes and cop hang outs, but that be a good lesson for those traveling to foreign cities. As far as why there were no police, this gang was all over Manhattan that day for Hollywood Stuntz rally and they may have been in other vulnerable areas.

Just because you’re on a bike and have the most fragile ego in all of human history, doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want. I was driving my p/u truck and almost hit a Harley that was lane changing dangerously. I waved at him to apologize(even though it was his fault) but he flipped me off and tried to break my mirror. So I swerved and flipped him off. Then he tried to kick my truck so i swerved again. He wouldn't give up. I tried slowing down to let him go but he slowed down with me still trying to break my mirror. So I sped up to about 100mph and dared him to try and break my mirror at that speed. He saw me laughing at him and realized the joke was gonna be on him and he slowed back down. I don't know if what I did was right...but it worked. But if he would've actually crashed...I'd probably be in jail or broke from attorney fee's, or even dead from his biker brothers getting revenge. It sucks to have to deal with this BS!
