    Gotta have your hands submerged and its good to dunk your head for a few seconds every now and then. A tip I have learned on keeping it cold when warmer weather comes. Buy a set of 4-6L plastic storage tubs and fill those with water to freeze. That will give you 10-20 pounds of solid ice to throw in overnight.

      Where will I freeze the tubs?

    • @xfittingwolfhunter6415

      @@hatrediv6639 You can get a chest freezer for less than $200. It's a bit up front, but putting in bagged ice every day would be that much in just a month

      I reuse about 40 16oz of water bottles. The water comes out of the faucet about 64F and with the ice bottles after 1:30 hours the water drops to 54F. I'm wondering if the solid blocks of ice would work better to drop the temperature even more.

    • @xfittingwolfhunter6415
      @xfittingwolfhunter6415 Год назад +1

      @@bullyboy131 There is s trade off either method. The blocks of ice will stay in longer and ultimately get the water colder, however it takes a long time to freeze them. After 24hrs in a freezer, it is not always a solid block. The water bottles freeze quicker and you can likely have a larger quantity of them, but the ice melts a lot quicker.

    Hey Sam thank you for the review as I've been interested in buying this! I wasn't sure what goals you were looking for from cold water immersion but I did want to mention that as an athletic training student I recently did some evidence based medicine research and found that when immersing for 10-15 minutes at 42 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit there is a significant decrease in delayed onset muscle soreness! There are obviously more benefits but that is one I focused on and found in my research and thought it would be helpful to share!

As an amputee especially its more comfortable to be on my foot compared a more laid down position where I’m going to have to use hands more b/c of the loss of stability missing that foot. It all works just fine for me but this is my ideal.

      @thedavidmars Год назад +1

      @@angelrosas1644 Think of it like having a plastic water bottle sitting in your car for weeks. Would you drink that water? I wouldn’t because of the micro plastics that seep/leak into the water.
      Now imagine soaking your entire body in water that has been sitting in a plastic tub. We all know how absorbent our skin is (systemic absorption). Your body is essentially absorbing all of the micro plastics in the water that comes from the material of the tub (assuming it’s made of nylon, polyester, etc which are all plastics).
      There’s a great book called “Estrogeneration” that dives more into detail.
