    Have a plunge all in. Have had it less than 3 months and it’s not chilling again for the second time. First fix took over a month just for them to send parts and send someone to repair. Couldn’t get anyone from plunge the phone. Just emailed Plunge support again and I’m dreading this experience. Spent a lot of $ on this - didn’t expect this many issues.

    David is telling the truth about contacting owner… i have the plunge and had a questions about the ozone because I was smelling a lot of it in my basement, he contacted the owner of the plunge and asked about the amount of ozone it puts out but also mentioned putting a little timer on it to only run at night when we aren’t around it. Well i took the advice and got a wifi connected plug and it fits perfectly in th electrical box and now my ozone turns on at night and is off about 1 hour before we get in, and the smell of ozone is almost non existent. So thanks a bunch David. God Bless! Stay cold!🥶

    I have an ice barrel 400 with the outdoor 3/4 HP Penguin Chiller for well over a year and it has performed very very well, I’ve had no issues. Just have to change out the filter periodically. I know I've been coming on here & touting Morozko as the Best unit but here is some true unbiased review of an actual owner. The seal on the filter housing is extremely finicky(you have to close it in such a precise way) it leaks within the electrical housing box all over the electrical cords because this is where the filter resting location is placed. I own the 1st iteration of the Morozko,, maybe they have corrected this problem since then. I am attempting to have the company buy back my unit & then purchase something based off of one of your reviews & so Thanks for doing these review videos.

      The sun home pro model compares pretty well to the morozko so I'm wondering if you looked at that one before you bought the morozko? They are both freezer type designs which make their own ice which is a niche category and get those few extra degrees colder. I'm wondering if most plungers will gravitate towards these type of tubs as they get more used to plunging and can tolerate colder temps.

    • @JujuPig-vz5mq

      @@johnnyxs8192 well, I have to retract my statement because Morozko customer service was bar none the best I have ever experienced since the Co. corrected my issue- I have no problem whatsoever not to mention my Morozko was out of warranty + I was not the original purchaser of the unit & still fixed it no charge also had to travel to my location to do so & so my opinion has changed 100%. I now believe Morozko is #1 on the market & also not to mention I did have their 2nd iteration of the machine. With the newer lineup of Morozko there is no problems as I mentioned prior & again they corrected mine with no cost to me even being out of warranty for over 1 year & so this speaks volumes about a businesses Customer Service which you hardly find anymore in 2024 beyond..

    Great as always! my DIY tub with ActiveAqua is great and i keep covered and at 42-45 constant. Problem is condensation; good it's in the basement on concrete floor so no damage, just a pain and i'd like to be more efficient. Looking at upgrading tub to solve that and the Plunge Air and Tub XL are great options. What would you recommend as a next step? got the chiller and really only need upgrade a more insulated tub. I'm 6' 2" so i fit fine in 48" now so not worried about length of ether of those. and i think Air is better over Edge Theory? would appreviate your thoughts

    Thank you for the honest review! I'm 6'4", so length of the plunge is a concern of mine. I am comparing the plunge all-in and the older plunge model, plunge XL, and I noticed the older model is about 5 inches longer. Do you think either models would work for me, or do you think the additional length with the plunge XL will be necessary for my height? Also, is there a barrel plunge that might fit my height better? I live in Central Florida as well and I’ve had a Penguin chiller, set up with your OG IB 400 DIY build for about two months. I haven't had any mechanical issues with Penguin but I am a little frustrated that I can't take it below 40 degrees. Sounds like Active Aqua is the way to go.

    • @DavidMausJr
      @DavidMausJr  3 месяца назад +1

      It’s tricky with the 400 and no insulation. You might want to try the Penguin 400 wrap. It surprisingly worked decently well

    • @frankievalle74
      @frankievalle74 3 месяца назад

      @@DavidMausJr I really didn't want to have to spend that extra $219 but I just might. I feel like I’ve hit a wall and need to push myself a little further by going below that 40-degree threshold. I still feel a benefit but not feeling as energized as I was when I first started with intentional cold immersion (which was in my pool throughout the winter). 50 degrees was intense when I first started, now it's kind of “meh.” I'm going to try a DIY version, then I may get one to put over mine. Worst case scenario, I'll be double insulated.
      Speaking of which, that would make an awesome topic for a video. “You’ve been plunging for a while now… now what?” I doubt I'm the only person who is not feeling the same “intense” or “noticeable” difference after continuous daily immersion over a period of time, sometimes multiple times in one day. For me, it’s been 6 months, with about a two-week break as my pool rose above 60 degrees and I had to order and put together my DIY setup. Dr. Andrew Huberman talked a little about this with Joe Rogan. He gave a couple of examples of what he does to challenge himself, which I have tried. I add the link for you to check out.

    Great video, thank you. I'm in Texas and have an inground pool and spa in my backyard. I've heard of some people converting their spa to a cold plunge. I assume they somehow plumb in one of these chillers in order to cool the spa water. Have you heard of this or do you have any experience, thoughts, recommendations? It's a big tub a filtered water just sitting there at 75-80 degrees or so most of the time. Seems like it could be a good option. Downside? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

    XL Plunge ...I've been cold plunging over a year and half. I love it. After six months, my chilling cylinder is actually freezing when it time it chills and afterward leaving water on my hardwood floors until I put a car mat underneath to catch the water. I have to sponge it up every day, sometimes 2x. I've called Plunge and they've sent me 4 chillers with the same result. Finally they said the engineers said that was normal. It's not. I'm afraid the new chiller could have similar results and I think i should get it free since I have a 5yr warranty. What are your thoughts?

    Going to be interesting to see what modtub and desert do now that grizzly discontinued the 400.
    I bought the Ib500 because modtub said they weren't going to do the 450 model
    As someone 6'4" I barely fit in the 500. There's no way people up to 7' are fitting. I can contort and barely get my shoulders in. Head dunks are a no go. I'm using a cup to pour water on my head which sucks lol

    • @DavidMausJr
      @DavidMausJr  3 месяца назад +1

      I personally wish they would remove the bench in the 500 for many reasons, that being one of them. I think the 450 is a sure thing with DP, can’t say for ModTub though. The 400 was a good setup and pretty roomy

    • @SurfRaven7
      @SurfRaven7 3 месяца назад +2

      I'm 6'5" / 210 lbs and I fit well in the Modtub (grizzly 400). It is plenty comfortable for head-out plunging. As long as the water is filled correctly, I can be all covered up to the neck. I don't have a ton of extra room and dunking my head requires sliding back with my legs out of the water or dunking my head sitting up, but that's fine with me. Love it so far. Highly efficient (stays cold and cools down fast after a water change). I did add ozone which was pretty easy ("Aqua-6, 120 mg/hour Water Ozone Generator" on Amazon for $80. I do think the extra 6" length in the Grizzly 450 would be a welcome addition if ModTub goes that way.

  • @heavylift47
    @heavylift47 3 месяца назад +1

    I'd disagree on the inflatable debate, but only because you can get inflatable tubs and barrels in the $400-$700 range. It's the only real reason I didn't go with the IceBarrel 500, because I would love to have the solid/insulated construction, but I couldn't justify the $1,300 (discounted) price tag. I snagged an inflatable barrel for $450 on Amazon and it's massive. It's 39" wide and 37" tall, which is exactly what I needed being 6'3 and 250lbs. All that said, if I can afford to spend more on cold plunging in the future, some of these options will definitely be on my list. (IB500 currently in the lead on that front, or the IB400 if they make some upgrades to the design.)

      @@Gooz-B "EJIA Portable Cold Plunge Tub with Lid" should find it for you. It says it's currently on a lightning sale for $409, so that's awesome. I will say, it is quite tall, so some people might find a step to be helpful.

      @@DavidMausJr David, I totally forgot to ask, did you ever do a video about the EcoPlus issues that you had? (7:27) I've recommended (and even considered myself) that people pick up the EcoPlus 1.5hp because of your video; it seemed to be very efficient and quiet. Do you think this a widespread problem and if it's reasonable to get one and try to fix it down the line?

    Any issue with adding epsom salt to a filtered setup with a chiller?

      I don’t like it personally. Only in the water 2-5 mins. Not sure it’s enough time to get any benefits

      I add 2 cups of epsom salts (eucalyptus) more for the fragrance then the therapeutic effect. Typically have to have your pores open to allow for the magnesium to help more/skin transfer - and that is not happening in a cold plunge. As to the mechanical parts - no issues so far.

    What’s the difference between hydrogen peroxide 3% or higher is there a reason you use 3% instead of higher when adding it to your plunges?

    • @DavidMausJr
      @DavidMausJr  2 месяца назад +1

      Higher % you can use less. Lower you should use more.

    So you don't recommend a DYI chest freezer but you recommend a $3000 one from a brand? Sounds legit.
