Skip the ice maker and go straight for a freezer chest. Get some large food storage containers and fill them with water and freeze them in the chest. That’s what I did after a vlogger recommended it and I’m happy with it.
This is exactly what I’m gonna do. just ordered my pod found out a 5’ 9” 270 pound guy can’t fit into a 8.7 cubic foot freezer lol so it’s time for plan B..
Good for you man! It's great to hear a little bit of your story at the end there and how much taking ice baths has benefited you! Mine just came in yesterday but I found your video after I got it! This is very good info so thank you and keep doing what you're doing 🙏🙌
Thanks for the videos and for adding that little bit at the end! I think it’s an important addition for those starting out! I randomly came across your videos and I have purchased a tub through your link for my husband and I. He has extreme joint pains and has noticed a HUGE difference when doing the ice baths in our tub but has an issue getting fully submerged without overflowing the water on our bathroom floor! Lol I saw your video and thought it’s a great idea and a great price point to see how a consistent FULL Emersion practice will impact us. Anyway just wanted to say I appreciate you adding the bit at the end about comparison and I thank you for your feedback and honesty. Thanks and keep it up
Hey, I have the same tub. Love it as well. Tried the frozen 2 liter bottle route. Used 8 each time. Suck a pain in the butt and time consuming. I broke down and bought a 1/4hp chiller for around $800. Game changer and it ready when ever I am. So my whole set up is around $1000. Ice maker might be a good option too!
Yes, looking into an alternative method as well. It takes well over 100 lbs of ice to drop the temp into the high 40s. This, for me, only last for day one, by day two the temps will be in the high 50s, and by day 3 they are in the high 60s. Requiring that by day four another 100 lbs of ice has to be added. 100 lbs of ice for me is costing $36.90. I started freezing my own large blocks of ice so I can stretch out my ice purchases to once a week. It's not too much of a pain in the ass but it's killing my freezer space. But at one Ice purchase a week, my ice cost is $147.60 per month. For me, this is not sustainable, so If I want to continue this I will need a chiller. I like the ice maker option but when you consider, like the chiller, it will be running up the electrical bill 24/7. The ice machine has the additional drawback of extra water consumption and waste. I think the ice machine option should only be taken seriously if you can benefit from an ice maker beyond just for the ice plunge.
You talked me into it! Thanks for the code! I got the XL even though I'm 5'8" 155lb, just for a bit more space, I was afraid of being cramped up and frozen I wouldn't be able to stretch back out! LOL
I am waiting for mine to be delivered . I start ever day with a far infrared sauna for 15 mins . Cold shower. Go outside until i shiver ( Canada ) then back in the sauna for 20-25 mins . End with a cold shower. I’ll be replacing the showers with the tub when it arrives . Think I’ll try the frozen water bottles to start .
Nice one mate, I remember I thought the exact same thing this morning, that I was so happy to be back in the tub. I’ll try the 7 second triangle breathing tomorrow morning. 👍
Ive though about getting a small freezer to put plastic Tupperware in and make 4 large 5lb cubes at a time. Just grabbed one with the new lid and used your code. Looking forward to it!
First off, thank you so much for the exhaustive review. Did this come across your research? I saw someone use 3/4 full water bottles that have been frozen and put in about an hour before use. Thanks again for all the Q&A and details. Great videos
Thanks for the video, great information. I recently purchased one of these and have used it a couple of times. The main reason I purchased was so I didn't need to keep refilling a bath tub. I noticed there is a note to NOT keep water in Nurecover tub because it will become deformed. Have you had any issues with that?
Hi what is the optimal temperature for duping and also is anyone using anything to make the water last longer I am aware that changing the water a lot isn’t the best environmental thing. Not chlorine though would like something natural and safe for my plants lol 😂🙏 thank you muchly
I’ve got an ice maker on the way, says it can produce 40-45# of ice a day. Will use that and cooler to put the ice in to empty out the storage so it keeps making ice. I plan to use that for about a week and share how it’s working.

Yes! I do this with a bunch of Gatorade bottles in my tub, I just purchased one of these nurecover tubs, excited to see how it works compared to the tub but we bought a 24 pack of Gatorade bottles and they freeze well and cool the water really well

Thanks for the video on the Nurecover. Most of all thanks for the positive/growth mindset.

Water bottles in the deep freezer works mint.
Stick full bottle into the Ice bath? Or force ice out?

Thanks! Been thinking about getting one and this helped with the decision making process.
Fantastic, thanks for the support.
Any comment on doing a hot tub or sauna before you enter the cold tub?
Great video super helpful and you answered the questions I just dropped in the comments of your first video.

great info dude i really appreciate it
Thx for vid. Quick question ... my kit also came with a small white rectangle shaped inflatable ... I dunno .... "pad"? What's that for?
I came here looking for the same answer. What is that small white rectangle thing?
I haven’t received mine yet but I think it might be to sit on
It's supposed to be a pad to sit on. It does not work very well.
I’m on day two , the only issue I have is I had a small puncture in the main tube
That’s a bummer, haven’t had any issues on my end
Why not just freeze milk jugs of water? Freeze 2 or 3 and put them in the water to cool it down. Would it work?
I’ve not had much success there, I also just don’t have the freezer space to spare for one of these solutions
I tried this with water jugs! And no its does not work at all it wont cold the water as ice does. , I too change the water every Sunday.

I found this video by researching how to treat the water...I think best bet is to drain once a week.
Is there a way to hook up a hose to drain?
Maybe, I’ve not investigated it too much. It does come with something, but not sure how long you’re looking for
What about the air tight cover ???
They didn’t have that when I bought mine, I did buy one and it is in the mail.

Maybe 10 minutes, but depends on your water pressure

When you go to purchase you click on lid type and select the other one
