Something my college Spanish professor told us in 1010 Spanish was that if we're looking to study Spanish outside of class, his book/movie recommendations were for preschool-2nd grade type of things. Books like "See Spot Run" en español and watching Disney/cartoons en español is going to go a lot farther for those of us just learning rather than reading The Odyssey in our target language. Because essentially when you're learning a new language, you cannot expect to learn it at grown up/fluent level. And that's exactly why kids are "faster" learners in different languages. Because they're not making kids read an entire dictionary in the target language and then expecting them to know full blown sentences right off the bat. They're teaching kids the alphabet and the numbers and common words like who, what, where, etc. Plus even then, how do kids learn to speak in the first place? They're hearing things around them in their language, hearing their parents repeat certain words, they use other words when they can't think of a certain word. They don't care about being fluent or correct, they care about getting what they need heard. It's a beautiful way to learn by going back to the basics
I have to say it: most of my speech and words and ways of talking about many things I learned from you because you have a such good way to speak in English. In addition, I always watch ur videos until the end, they are great!
seriously, amazing job!! your tips were so unique but they were tips that could genuinely help you learn unlike other common unhelpful ways of learning. thank you so much (:
Anna, love your videos, a recommendation is trying to watch the movie "Shrek" with Mexican dub if you haven't already, is one of the movies which I think has one of the best dubs in kids movies, also Shrek is a source of memes and uses a lot of slangs. I haven't watched the Spanish (Spain) dub of the movie but I guess the dub is very good too. Sending you all my support as a Spanish native speaker in your journey
I really love the random topic generator idea OMG. Im totally gonna start that as soon as I get intermediate in the languages im learning. A tip: With the last tip, you can also make a different account altogether to be on the other language's side of youtube/tiktok, so that you can still keep your current feed topics.
Oh wow. Well, fun fact: In Mexico we don't use "vosotros" anymore. That's a spanish word that spains brought us in the conquist. It's more common use "ustedes" ^^
I'm From Perù and usted or ustedes is Formal, Tú is bit informal(overused), and vosotros is used in another countries like Spain but in Perú we say Tú or usted is overused
I am learning English and use your videos for practicing my listening, I like so much your channel. I really excited that you said about Brazil because I live here.
You're gonna laugh, but you'll go to Barcelona knowing Spanish and you'll understand half of the conversations. Bonus language waiting for you there. hahahah
Helloo! I'm here to learn English and I feel confidence listening to you and I understand you, and it feels great that you're learning this lenguage, Spanish Reach that goal, and all the good goals that you put in your mind :3
I created an account where all the pages I follow are in English, it's a good idea to learn vocabulary because you are having fun and learning at the same time, I'm struggling learning words because although I study words daily, I can't use them, so learning words through context watching videos in your target language is better than learning them in another way, in my opinion. Suerte en tu mudanza a España, espero y todo vaya bien
Does anyone else feel like it would be much easier to learn a new language if there was , like , a website or so , where you can buy digital short stories in your target language for a dollar or a little more , and just use it as an ultimate study material, because as a language learner myself, I really can't find a such thing on real-life stores.Does any one else feel the same ?
Meme pages are the best! 😂 feels awesome when you actually understand what they mean. Also that’s so fucking cool how Hamilton is in Spanish 😱😱😱 *checking if it’s in French or German*
Me alegro mucho de que vengas a España Anna! Vas a disfrutar mucho, ya verás :) Barcelona es muy bonita, aunque ten cuidado porque allí también se habla otro idioma: el catalán. Así que si alguien te habla y no entiendes lo que dice, probablemente te está hablando en otro idioma jajajajaja
im learning greek and there are literally no things that make learning greek easier.... theres no greek on lingopie or on any other language learning app its so sad
Вот я, например, учу сейчас немецкий и сейчас читаю - short stories in German for beginners от olly Richards.

Are there many popular films and series on Lingopie? And I actually learned the usted form in school (I'm from Austria), and we only learned the Spanish that is spoken in Spain so I'm confused now lol or is it just a Barcelona thing? Cos they also use catalán?
No, not really. I did a trial week about a year ago and I thought I had cancelled my subscription, but they still charged my paypal lol. I had it for one year but never used it, because I wasn't interested in any of the shows back then. It got better, but nothing too crazy on there, I think. I started watching "wake up" today, because my subscription is running out in three weeks. So far very easy to understand for my beginner level spanish. Also about vosotros: my mexican tutor told me she can't teach me "vosotros" because it is a general spain-spanish thing, and not her common way of talking.
Really exited for this one... Coz I am trying (actually thinking) to learn Korean, Thai, Chinese but I haven't started yet, ik this video will motivate me to do that🤧
I don’t know about Thai but you’ll (hopefully) love both Korean and Chinese! It’s so much fun! Also, in Chinese, don’t forget to choose a dialect and don’t be afraid of the writing system, characters are not that difficult, just learn the order in which you should write the traces and it will all be good! Hope you have fun and don’t give up!!

+1 for the musicals in other languages tip. Mamma Mia in German changed my life, because that version of The Winner Takes It All is so good.
