    Hey John, I wanted to give you a tip on brush control when it comes to larger scale things. I’ve been a canvas and Moral Painter for many years and although my Instagram might not share a lot of that work, since I’ve gotten into miniatures I might have some insight that could help. You brought up Bob Ross right after you had talked about the lack of brush control. He is a perfect example. If you ever watch a Bob Ross video look where he’s holding the paintbrush. There are a lot of occasions where when he is painting something he is holding the brush further back almost all the way to the end. You see this technique in a lot of oil, canvas painters. On certain mediums, this will actually help create Fluid brushstrokes. This isn’t the case for every situation, but I think it will be something fun to experiment with in the future when it comes to larger scale, things like this. I hope this information helps.

    Just having fun while painting it's why we all started doing this! It's hard to remember sometimes with all the social media pressure to always do great work... but more often than not, if you just paint to enjoy it, the good results will come by itself.

What I love about your videos isn't necessarily the technical aspects of painting (although always appreciated), but the thought processes and mindset you have while painting a miniature or army. New approach for my next mini... play this video on repeat throughout painting to remind myself to have fun and not let details and perfectionism take it away. I'm so bad with enjoying painting and having fun which is ruining the whole experience for me.

    Hey @Ninjon, I'm sure you already know this but I found out fdm printers create a TON of micro plastic fibers that get over and into EVERYTHING from doing some resin and fdm printer comparison research. Allot of folks tend to overlook this part of printing with fdm printers, you can't ever get rid of these micro plastic fibers while the fumes from resin can dissipate if I'm remembering everything correctly. I know you have some pets that you let into your hobby space, so I just thought I'd mention it.

    • @pbkobold
      @pbkobold Месяц назад +1

      Raw PLA and PETG are pretty benign as long as you have HEPA-ish air filtration / circulation. Glass fiber (GF) and carbon fiber (CF) fillers might be what you're thinking of. It does seem like those fibers get everywhere and I would not use GF/CF filament in hobbyist context. I'd take PLA/PETG over resin fumes printing in my house any day though.
