Regarding always going one step brighter with highlights: One thing I always try to keep in mind is that my painting lights are WAY brighter than display/tabletop lights. So often what might look almost over the top under the painting lights really won't pop nearly as much under tabletop lights. When in doubt, I'll step away from the painting table and let my eyes adjust to normal lighting and then take another look at the model to see how I feel about the highlights.

Loving the Skaven vids, planning on using yours as a base guide when my Skaventide box comes in. I would absolutely LOVE to see your take on the entire army. And if you are looking for something else to do I would love to also see your take on the Stormcasts, not necessarily the entire army, but a few units would be really nice! Basically, I'm looking for a Skaventide guide lol.
I’d love to see the warpblaster, mostly because it’s the model most different from those you’ve painted, and would be the most interesting to see your approach.
I don’t think I’ve played a full Warhammer game in 2 years, but I DO paint daily! It’s always exciting to see the new models/model refreshes! Great video as usual Jon! ❤
God these skaven are some of the best AOS models I have seen. I'm always put off by the stormcast but a lot of these other factions actually look great. This is really fun vibrant paint job too!
That Rat Ogre looks crisp! I was a bit skeptical with the beginning of the paint scheme but it came out really tight! We need more rat ogres in our lives.
I have a Dark Angels army, but yet, I have never played a single game of Warhammer. Great video as always. Look forward to your next project. You should build and paint Lion El Johnson. Why you ask? only cus its the coolest Games Workshop model!
Thanks for the Milanote stuff, will try to use to get all my proyects together. Because right now i have a fuck ton of them and i could use some order since my book with the notes is all over the place right now.
I looked at the new AoS at the local warhammer. Boy do those Skaven look good. I’m tempted but I already have way too many things on the go! Thanks, I’m off to slay some grey or at least finish some partially done minis.
I'd really like to see you tackle a Marvel Crisis Protocol model. They are larger than GW and, being superhero costumes, have a ton less of bits and bobs slammed everywhere. There is more open canvas for you to push pigment around on.
This and the last skaven video has really inspired me to put in that extra work in my next army. I usually try to paint up my minis as fast and efficient as possible, which is not a Very enjoyable experience, nor am i proud of my work.
Do the stormcast half of the spearhead. I think it'd be good for any brand new AOS players to see how you do big dudes in heavy armor as well as the rats when they pick up the starter box with a friend.
I find it really difficult to get the paint consistency right with modern paints (AK 3rd, New Vallejo Gamecolor) since they tend to get really thin by simply putting them on a wet palette. But that is why I enjoy painting bigger models, because I find the downsides of thinner paints less notable there
Great Video as usual but one that has more relevance for me this time as I have been wondering how to paint my Romani Werewolves for Carnevale. These are in different stages of transformation so the tips in this video will translate well for my upcoming paint jobs to keep a coherence to the gangs. Cheers.
I got into the hobby for the painting and modeling aspect. Just recently I wanted to try my hand at kill team and also looking into spearhead for my slaves to darkness
Great video as always! Ratty bois look great. I feel like a lot of the close ups are a bit more blury at certain distances, e.g 16:09, than normal though, not sure if there is any way to extend the focal range a little further. I also feel like 10:05 could really use some stabilisation (if that even a thing that can be done?).
Nice work! Much prefer your approach to rat ogres than the official box art. Your integrated base colour approach and flayed flesh makes waaaaay more sense than GW’s shaved rat scheme!
If you're keeping to the Skaventide Box for your videos, I'd recommend the Lord Vigilant on Gryph-Stalker or one of the new Prosecutors. I'd love to seehow you would handle the metallic armor, the mount or the the cool wings on them flying armor doods.
Would love to see you do some Idoneth Deepkin. Would be great to learn any new tricks to get that sort or aquatic paint scheme working well and I don't think I've seen anyone paint them to a high standard.
As someone who plays on average, 2 games of aos a week, and plays warcry and underworlds somewhat regularly as well, I always find it fascinating the amount of people in this hobby that don't play much.

This is very cool, the Karandras contrast paint really makes those warpstone chunks pop against the reddish skin.
Please continue this skaven army! This videos are awesome! :D
I am always excited when another Ninjon video drops!
Dude that model looked awesome!
There is more open canvas for you to push pigment around on.
loving this series john!
You are quite simply, a Genius.
The Rats are lookin' good, Jon. I'm loving this series.
Very well done, that's got to be the best Rat Ogre paint job I've seen yet.
This and the last skaven video has really inspired me to put in that extra work in my next army.
I usually try to paint up my minis as fast and efficient as possible, which is not a Very enjoyable experience, nor am i proud of my work.
His vids are always good, good. The Great Horned One smiles upon you, manthing.
I could watch skaven painting videos all day long. And yours all night long.
Always use a bit of glue but i will say this is the first time where the push-fit system didn't outright prevent me from properly assembling the model
Loving the aos content! Can’t wait to get my box
Do the stormcast half of the spearhead. I think it'd be good for any brand new AOS players to see how you do big dudes in heavy armor as well as the rats when they pick up the starter box with a friend.
You are awesome at painting, love your videos.
You should paint some Rumbleslam minis! Think you'd have a blast painting them.
Very nice! Thanks Ninjon!
That skirt wetblend was beautiful
If you're keeping to the Skaventide Box for your videos, I'd recommend the Lord Vigilant on Gryph-Stalker or one of the new Prosecutors. I'd love to seehow you would handle the metallic armor, the mount or the the cool wings on them flying armor doods.
Looks so good. Nice job man!
Would love to see you do some Idoneth Deepkin. Would be great to learn any new tricks to get that sort or aquatic paint scheme working well and I don't think I've seen anyone paint them to a high standard.
Painted my first mini last week!
Loving the Skaven inclusion, hoping to see some Seraphon in the future!
I would love to see you paint some of the catalyst battletech miniatures.
I can’t wait to see your take on the ratling gun
As someone who plays on average, 2 games of aos a week, and plays warcry and underworlds somewhat regularly as well, I always find it fascinating the amount of people in this hobby that don't play much.
I’m legit enjoying the music.
