Now, in order to repay such kindness, I'll match effort for effort and give you my full list of favorite and least favorite, non-character 40K models. Adepta Sororitas- Favorite: Zephyrim/Seraphim, because winged jump-packs are cool Least Favorite: Arco-Flagellents, why do these exist when we already have Repentia??? Adeptus Custodes- Favorite: Vertus Praetors, because Alarus Terminators are just a bit too wide for my taste, and jet-bikes are cool Least Favorite: Custodian Guard, loser by default tbh, no strong feelings. Adeptus Mechanicus- Favorite: Onager Dunecrawler, Spider Tanks are best tanks. Least Favorite: Kataphrons, these just look incredibly dumb Aeldari- Favorite: Striking Scorpions, I'm a sucker for Aspect Warriors, and if the new Feugan is anything to go by, I'll be starting *another* new army Least Favorite: War Walker, goofy egg lookin' ass, what even is this kit? You're the only reason the Harlequins aren't here. You bring shame to the Asuryani! Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard- Favorite: Tempestus Aquilons, Tempestus are the best aesthetic in Guard and we need more of them. Fight me on it. Least Favorite: Kaserkin, because fucc-U Cadians! Tempestus are the REAL elites of this army! Chaos Daemons- Favorite: Flesh Hounds, hee-hee 🌽🐕 go "woof" Least Favorite: Pink Horrors of Tzeentch, for ALL the reasons you outlined, except I don't think the current plastic Horrors are "alright", I think they're downright terrible with their stupid duck-beak faces and frankly unappealing paint job Chaos Knights- Favorite: Knight Abominant, its just the most chaotic Chaos Knight, what more is there to say? Least Favorite: War Dogs, because I've heard alot kf horror stories about War Dog spam, and based on them, if even 50% is truth, the people who play that list don't deserve nice things Chaos Space Marines- Favorite: Venomcrawler, Spider-Tanks are best tanks, I don't know what else to say here Least Favorite: Chaos Bikes. Because as much as I'd like to complain about Oldmarine Vehicles for another paragraph. . . Chaos Bikes deserve better. Death Guard- Favorite: Foetid Bloat-Drone, something about a big armored fly armed with guns or a lawnmower of death is just really cool imo. Least Favorite: Plague Marines, I hate how this kit is laid out, from the obnoxious mixed-loadout to the weird number of 7 models in a single box when it should be 10 to match the uniformity of squads of 5 or 10. Shit like THIS is my biggest deterrent for starting a Death Guard army, despite actually liking alot of their models. Drukhari- Favorite: Incubi, peak lore, peak design, peak early Paul video. What more can I say? Least Faction: Grotesques, Wytches get to live another day when stacked against these uggos. Man I hope Drukhari get Vecht back really soon. They deserve to have their Faction Leader playable on the tabletop! Genestealer Cults- Favorite: Acolyte Hybrids, good balance of human and Tyranid, and I'm a sucker for a good elite. Least Favorite: Purestrain Genestealers. Does this count? Because if it doesn't, I'm picking the Nephytes for how insane the task of painting them properly would be. Otherwise, Im picking the models released in 2023 that look like they were designed back in 2017. Grey Knights- Favorite: Paladins? I guess? These guys need a Primaris scale range refresh BADLY! Least Favorite: Dreadknight, you walked so that the Invictor could run, rest my sweet prince, you have served your Emperor well.😚 Imperial Knights- Favorite: Armigers, I'm not the biggest fan of the single eye on them, but after Assassinorum Kingmaker, I wanted to go out and buy a box just to have and paint for fun, which is rare for me to not want to start a whole army like that. Least Favorite: All the Cerastus Knights. Don't be foold Paul. These Knights will being going to legends jail in 2 years' time, 5 max. Mark my words, you'll all rue the day you bought into GW trying to push Heresy Models onto you before they go to Legends as they try to romve as much crossover between game systems as possible. Just like the Heresy Dreadnoughts and everything from Foege World. They do look sick though, ngl. Leagues of Votann- Favorite: Hernkyn Jagirs, the shotguns, knives and long coats are peak "dwarf scout" design. It's mostly the coats that sell it for me, without those I wouldn't care, but MAN are they snazzy! Least Favorite: Cthonian Berzerks, most borning Dwarf Berzerkers in Warhammer(which is saying something if you know the Fyreslayers range in AoS). Plus they still have multiple special weapon options which I dislike. Just make it 1 and only 1 GW, stop this nonsense. Necrons- Favorite: Skorpekh Destroyers, this unit made me want a Necron army. Enough said. Least Favorite: Immortals, these are just here because of a personal vendetta. Building them was hell. Orks- Favorite: All the Speeed Freeeks(except the War Trike) Least Favorite: Dakka-Jet, because I had to put Aircraft SOMEWHERE here. GW should just rip off the bandaid and say all Aircraft are going to legrnds already, don't pretend like you want people to play these mistakes. Space Marines- Favorite: Aggressors, they're just better Centurions and they ALWAYS should've replaced both them and Terminators from day 1 and GW are cowards for trying to convince us any differently by making new Terminators. Crucify me if you must, but Id be more impressed that ypu actually read all the way to this point. Least Favorite: Literally ever Oldmarine model that is still in circulation, except Centurions(only for Paul's sanity, even if they are on a timer) T'au- Favorite: Broadside, most well-proportioned of all the non-character Battlesuits. Least Favorite: Broadside, because someone tried to rip me off by saying they'd sell me this thing for $20 before taking my money and trying to run. I fought with PayPal for a month before getting my money back from the charlatan. Is that petty? Extremely. Do I care? No.(pettiness aside, it'd be the Piranha) Thousand Sons- Favorite: Scarab Occult Terminators, these convinced me to start a Thousand Sons army. We need more stuff that looks like this in the army. Least Favorite: Chaos Spawn. . . What else would it be?😏 Tyranids- Favorite: Norn Emissary, I just learned today that this thing isn't a Character for some reason. I don't know why, but I won't complain. It was the big centerpiece unit for Tyranids' post-Leviathan model wave, and its a dope-looking one at that. Least Favorite: Tyranid Warriors, Hive Guard and Tyrant Guard. This is a three way tie because the kit builds all 3 if these different units, and it's definitely starting to show its age. Please just update this alongside the Raveners GW. Please. World Eaters- Favorite: Khorne Berserkers, what can I say that Paul hasn't said already? Least Favorite: Eightbound/Exalted Eightbound, when not even I can pinpoint the minute differences between the builds and look of these two seperate units. You dun fukt up. Beyond that, I'd be fine with their existence if World Eaters got at least one other elite unit. Be that Red Butcher Terminators, some kind of Jump-Pack squad, or even Juggernaut Cavalry like the AoS Mighty Skullcrushers. ANYTHING besides two build options for what amounts to the exact same three man elite unit. Agents of the Imperium- Favorite: Error 404 "Agents of the Imperium" not found please try again Least Favorite: Soup needs to die And those are all my thoughts! I hope I gave you something to think about, assuming you read the gaint tidal wave of text above. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Judging by the art on one of the pages of the codex for 10th, Stealth Suits actually open up in a really interesting way, with the pilot embedded in the middle of the suit, inside its large, rounded torso, and the faceplate splits in half, raising away in two parts, for access to the suit... 😁 I thought they looked pretty goofy too, but seeing that rather turned my opinion around, and I quite like them...
I tried to use this fancy new graphics tablet I bought at a massive discount during prime day to see how it'd affect speed and style. Do you think it's better or worse?
It's so crazy refreshing to see unique points of view on almost every range. Whether I agree or not, having a unique opinion is better than a boring one!
I made a looted dread knight for my orks. Ut looks goofy with a guy in front like a baby Bjorn carrier, but it kinda fits with orks. I just added a bunch of pipes, plates, and dakka...looks great
In Acolyte hybrids defence they are very easily posable with just torso, head and arms being whatever choice you like which quickly breaks up the monotoy, bit like Tactical Marines and provide an endless amount of heads, arms and melee weapons to kitbash whatever other GSC characters you like
If lances on 1/100 scale are what you're looking for, crossbone gundam x2, advanced gn-x, gaeleos schwalbe garze are great options, but they are kinda limited editions. For more readily available kits, the Vigna gihna 2 and the gundam kimaris booster type are good choices
totally agree with you over the Dorn, however, in argument against your view of the Guard I present for your apraisal, the Cyclopes Demolition Vehicle, the Bomb Tonk
For world eaters i made my own red butchers and not gonna lie i like where i was going with it, essentially put 8 bound arms on a terminatoe and put world eater heads and it looks gooood.
Relatedly, I've been thinking about getting some Centurions too Chaosify and turn into Obliterators. Because the only way to get the obliterators right now is to also get a Venom Crawler and there's a point of diminishing returns on Venom Crawlers.
As someone who plays war games with gunplas using the game Warsurge, your idea is AWSOME. Id recommend mechs from which from mecurey Definitely look into "The-O" or "zaku III." These big chonky boys are very cool
For Space Marines, I think an honourable mention has to go to their melee centric units amongst the base codex units and divergent Chapters. The Bladeguard Veterans, Sword Brethren, and Inner Circle Companions are everything I want from a Space Marine kit and more.
"I will hunt you down and gut you like a fish" I recognised that phrase immediately but forgot where from Thought it was Holy Grail or Ace Ventura but the latter was close; it's The Grinch's voicemail "If you'd like to fax me; press the # key"
6:15 My dream wraithlord update would also include the bits for the forgeworld Wraithseer upgrade pack. I do also think people just pick such boring poses with them. Even without converting the legs and feet are on ball joints so they can be positioned a lot more than the common "standing straight with both feet planted down, looking straight forward"
I PAINTED MY FIRST SPACE MARINES! They’re black with teal highlights, I’m calling them the Shadowed Tide. The black Templars and salamanders go to this planet and have to fight some tyranids and they combine into one chapter, they also combine their gene seed! Pretty cool right?
If you wanna use gundams to make knights in 40k try the 30 minute mission models they're really customizable and have a fantasy line that looks like actual knights
Your basilisk option is based but may I recommend the bullgryns? The kit builds standard orgryn as well and they look so much better than the normal older orgryn kits.
As a sororitas player, I can say that statwise, paragons are the paragon of the sororitas(pun intended), but they lack in the design department. They need more chonkyness, so give them centurion arms and legs and they're perfect.
Default wraithlord poses are why I've put great effort into giving them interesting poses with just enough kitbashing to still look right. My wraithlady has inverted thigh armor and ever so slightly widened hips, wraithguard pelvic armor, wraithguard loincloths for her back ribbons, a narrowed gait, a sword blade from the avatar of khaine with a gentle two-handed hold, a narrow gaited stance, removed shoulder armor to give the impression of narrower shoulders, an arched back, a wraithblade head fin, and the old vehicle mounted shuriken cannons with the narrower profile angled upward and outward to give the impression that her shoulders are confidently and powerfully cocked back. I have another one with a wide, powerful stance, dual wielded wraithblade swords held like reverse grip daggers, printed flames to have jets of fire shooting in split directions, and some custom back fins.
@@yvraine-3056 I need to actually *finish* the wraithlady by putting on the infinity circuit decal and putting on the base paste. She is otherwise done though.
So, I've bought two sets of the Hybrid Metamorphs/Acolytes and it's kind of true. There's a lot of options, but they are also kind of limited in actually looking unique because of the way you pose them. So yes, you can end up with tons of different weapon combos, and heads and whatever, they all end up looking alike because they all have the same basic shape.
If you like models with guys holding multiple guns. I'd recommend the Gundam Guision Rebake Full city with the gun option set. It'd be a good excuse to build an other gundam model kit.
Paul, as a sisters player, it is my legal obligation to inform you that the best Sororitas model is the Exorcist. It is a pipe organ. That shoots missiles. And there's a head choice for the sister playing the organ where she looks like she's really going to town on the keyboard. It also allows you to play "Baby Elephant Walk" by Henry Mancini as you remove enemy models from the table. Best model, hands down. The Paragons are cool, too, though. I guess.
Hey.. the Agents of the Imperium rules writers cared.. about Crusade and narrative play only. They literally updated the Legends rules for them to fit with the new codex and it’s crusade rules and made their army be so much stronger for crusade/narrative play than Tournament play that it’s a bit of a shock to play them in the two different styles.
Having built the strike noir it is indeed one of the coolest gundams. Better designed strike, dual beam pistols, blades and heavy beam cannons... Best of all worlds.
As a fellow space marine player I do dabble with centurians, in fact I'm running an apocalypse list with 6 of them, among other things (bc that is all he centurions I have painted currently)
Noxious Blightbringer and Myphitic Blighthaulers are the Death Guard’s “look incredible but have never played properly” units. I’d kill for either of them to get better rules or slightly improved datasheets.
I personally like the stealth suits for t'au because I just like the aesthetic, and I feel that the worst t'au model is the piranha because the helmets look a bit wonkey
As an aeldari player, I have two candidates for best looking model, and they will change order depending on how I feel that day. The models are: the Wraithknight and Shroud Runners. The wraithknight is the best centerpiece model (subjective opinion (this is a knight day)), I see you pointing at Khaine, or note that I didn't limit my statement to aeldari, and I will say YOU ARE WRONG! (expect the centurions, don't ban me) The shroud runners are however really cool, they have so many details and they are fun to play with. For the algorithm, and my lifting buddy Khaine!
As a custodes player, I do enjoy bating my guard playing friend to park all his tanks in his back line then using my ability on my allarus terminator custodians to pick them up and deepstrike them into his back line and annihilate his tanks with anti vehicle castellan axes
as a custodes player, i am not the biggest fan of allarus termys, i absolutely love my warden squads. the robes and the golden armor is just so cool. but otherwise amaxing video my dude
Finally, someone else who likes Centurions Centurions are unironically superior to everything in the Primaris range and you can't convince me otherwise.
Nobody uses Hive Guard in 10th because Zoanthropes do their job better for the same price. Their special rule buffs them for sitting on an objective and firing overwatch but they don't have enough range to effectively take advantage of it, meanwhile Zoanthropes have more Strength, AP and Damage also at 24" while having 4+ Invul, dealing D3 mortals and healing D3 wounds, being a Synapse creature, and providing 6+ Invul to other nearby units, both cost the same, 100 for 3 or 300 for 6. Hive Guard bad.

Least Favorite: War Dogs, because I've heard alot kf horror stories about War Dog spam, and based on them, if even 50% is truth, the people who play that list don't deserve nice things
Chaos Space Marines-
Favorite: Venomcrawler, Spider-Tanks are best tanks, I don't know what else to say here
Least Favorite: Chaos Bikes. Because as much as I'd like to complain about Oldmarine Vehicles for another paragraph. . . Chaos Bikes deserve better.
Death Guard-
Favorite: Foetid Bloat-Drone, something about a big armored fly armed with guns or a lawnmower of death is just really cool imo.
Drukhari-
Favorite: Incubi, peak lore, peak design, peak early Paul video. What more can I say?
Least Faction: Grotesques, Wytches get to live another day when stacked against these uggos. Man I hope Drukhari get Vecht back really soon. They deserve to have their Faction Leader playable on the tabletop!
Genestealer Cults-
Favorite: Acolyte Hybrids, good balance of human and Tyranid, and I'm a sucker for a good elite.
Least Favorite: Purestrain Genestealers. Does this count? Because if it doesn't, I'm picking the Nephytes for how insane the task of painting them properly would be. Otherwise, Im picking the models released in 2023 that look like they were designed back in 2017.
Grey Knights-
Favorite: Paladins? I guess? These guys need a Primaris scale range refresh BADLY!
Least Favorite: Dreadknight, you walked so that the Invictor could run, rest my sweet prince, you have served your Emperor well.😚
Imperial Knights-
Favorite: Armigers, I'm not the biggest fan of the single eye on them, but after Assassinorum Kingmaker, I wanted to go out and buy a box just to have and paint for fun, which is rare for me to not want to start a whole army like that.
Leagues of Votann-
Favorite: Hernkyn Jagirs, the shotguns, knives and long coats are peak "dwarf scout" design.
Necrons-
Favorite: Skorpekh Destroyers, this unit made me want a Necron army. Enough said.
Least Favorite: Immortals, these are just here because of a personal vendetta. Building them was hell.
Orks-
Favorite: All the Speeed Freeeks(except the War Trike)
Least Favorite: Dakka-Jet, because I had to put Aircraft SOMEWHERE here. GW should just rip off the bandaid and say all Aircraft are going to legrnds already, don't pretend like you want people to play these mistakes.
Space Marines-
Favorite: Aggressors, they're just better Centurions and they ALWAYS should've replaced both them and Terminators from day 1 and GW are cowards for trying to convince us any differently by making new Terminators. Crucify me if you must, but Id be more impressed that ypu actually read all the way to this point.
Least Favorite: Literally ever Oldmarine model that is still in circulation, except Centurions(only for Paul's sanity, even if they are on a timer)
T'au-
Favorite: Broadside, most well-proportioned of all the non-character Battlesuits.
Least Favorite: Broadside, because someone tried to rip me off by saying they'd sell me this thing for $20 before taking my money and trying to run. I fought with PayPal for a month before getting my money back from the charlatan. Is that petty? Extremely. Do I care? No.(pettiness aside, it'd be the Piranha)
Thousand Sons-
Favorite: Scarab Occult Terminators, these convinced me to start a Thousand Sons army. We need more stuff that looks like this in the army.
Least Favorite: Chaos Spawn. . . What else would it be?😏
Tyranids-
Favorite: Norn Emissary, I just learned today that this thing isn't a Character for some reason.
Please.
World Eaters-
Favorite: Khorne Berserkers, what can I say that Paul hasn't said already?
Least Favorite: Eightbound/Exalted Eightbound, when not even I can pinpoint the minute differences between the builds and look of these two seperate units. You dun fukt up. Beyond that, I'd be fine with their existence if World Eaters got at least one other elite unit. Be that Red Butcher Terminators, some kind of Jump-Pack squad, or even Juggernaut Cavalry like the AoS Mighty Skullcrushers. ANYTHING besides two build options for what amounts to the exact same three man elite unit.
Agents of the Imperium-
Favorite: Error 404 "Agents of the Imperium" not found please try again
Least Favorite: Soup needs to die
And those are all my thoughts!
For gunpla suggestions the kimaris, kimaris trooper and kimaris vidar all have lances it's just they are 1/144 kits so might not be big enough
Art style has changed a bit, it's smoother.
I tried to use this fancy new graphics tablet I bought at a massive discount during prime day to see how it'd affect speed and style. Do you think it's better or worse?
@@PaulIsBadAtStuff I think it looks better, sharper.
Yeah I think you've found a distinctive style by using a new graphics tablet, more emotive then before.
It's so crazy refreshing to see unique points of view on almost every range. Whether I agree or not, having a unique opinion is better than a boring one!
The Kimaris from Gundam IBO actually has a lance as a weapon, but I believe it's hard to get hold of at the moment.
I made a looted dread knight for my orks. Ut looks goofy with a guy in front like a baby Bjorn carrier, but it kinda fits with orks. I just added a bunch of pipes, plates, and dakka...looks great
The Golden Sun music gave me nostalgic whiplash. One of my favorite games growing up.
They make 12:26 3 kits actually, we have 3 units that look almost exactly the same
I feel like we need an elite infantry unit in a mining mech suit similar to centurions.
I’m gonna enjoy watching my Bio-Titans eat the centurions like gummy bears
Id recommend mechs from which from mecurey
Definitely look into "The-O" or "zaku III." These big chonky boys are very cool
Ah, a fellow Zeon enjoyer
@@lupuskonig9 yes! They did nothing wrong.
18:27 "So you have chosen death"
The best 40k model, is whatever AoS model is being used instead
For Space Marines, I think an honourable mention has to go to their melee centric units amongst the base codex units and divergent Chapters. The Bladeguard Veterans, Sword Brethren, and Inner Circle Companions are everything I want from a Space Marine kit and more.
"I will hunt you down and gut you like a fish"
I recognised that phrase immediately but forgot where from
Thought it was Holy Grail or Ace Ventura but the latter was close; it's The Grinch's voicemail
"If you'd like to fax me; press the # key"
Great timing with the Eldar, new Fuegan sculpt incoming!
My good fellow, you can't just drop this description without telling us where we could find pictures of these creations, they sound lovely.
@@yvraine-3056 Not sure how to put links in comments. I think it just hides them, yeah?
@@Rehteal It unfortunately does, but I hoped you had uploaded them to some forum or other site you could namedrop.
@@yvraine-3056 I need to actually *finish* the wraithlady by putting on the infinity circuit decal and putting on the base paste. She is otherwise done though.
@@Rehteal Looking forward to the completion then.
After making primaris centurions.... gotta say, they've become my favorite models. All i did was put gravis legs instead of the old legs XD
Custard termies brought me back to 40k in 8th edition since quitting when Tau came out in 3rd. Got like 21 of them now.
I have a feral orks army, and I literally kitbashed my Meganobs from the Ironjaw Brutes.
I also like the Boomdakka Snazzwagon because I can imagine Jonathan Davis saying it in a Korn song
Eightbound are World Eaters Possessed more so than Terminators. Still crossing my fingers for Red Butchers to come.
Dark Angels- Inner Circle Companions. Probably my favourite Space Marine style mini.
I made my Dreadknight with a dynamic pose and left the shoulder straps off so it's less baby carrier and more exo-suit
1:07 You didn't need to call me out that hard like that ;-;
Having built the strike noir it is indeed one of the coolest gundams. Better designed strike, dual beam pistols, blades and heavy beam cannons... Best of all worlds.
As a fellow space marine player I do dabble with centurians, in fact I'm running an apocalypse list with 6 of them, among other things (bc that is all he centurions I have painted currently)
Oddly enough the fact they look like a normal modern military is the reason i like them, and why i play them
Good music choice for the Votaan segment.
PAUL, HOW COULD YOU!!!!
THE DREADKNIGHT IS A HUGE CENTURION.
HOW COULD YOU BETRAY ME LIKE THIS
I also like dragonball Z, Midna, Timmy 3 Arms and nundams... So I think you DO have perfect taste.
Noxious Blightbringer and Myphitic Blighthaulers are the Death Guard’s “look incredible but have never played properly” units. I’d kill for either of them to get better rules or slightly improved datasheets.
Considering how much you like centurions I expected you to chose Castellan robots. I personally have 6 of em :D
For GSC, you can easily just mix and match arms to change the look of your army. I think I have 50+ Metamorphs and none look the same.
only 40,000 hammers in one video? you really blew it with this one.
I personally like the stealth suits for t'au because I just like the aesthetic, and I feel that the worst t'au model is the piranha because the helmets look a bit wonkey
So as far as I know the space marine scouts aren't actually space marines yet. They're initiates before they get turned into proper space marines.
(expect the centurions, don't ban me)
The shroud runners are however really cool, they have so many details and they are fun to play with.
For the algorithm, and my lifting buddy Khaine!
Me : hears about centurions being “the best miniature “
Also me : laughs in peak daemon primarch design.
As a custodes player, I do enjoy bating my guard playing friend to park all his tanks in his back line then using my ability on my allarus terminator custodians to pick them up and deepstrike them into his back line and annihilate his tanks with anti vehicle castellan axes
Eightbound aren't meant to be terminators. We use the generic terminators instead of a unique one.
as a West Virginian I must warn against angering Appalachian Wizards
as a custodes player, i am not the biggest fan of allarus termys, i absolutely love my warden squads. the robes and the golden armor is just so cool. but otherwise amaxing video my dude
Did I just hear the theme for Jet Force Gemini?! In 2024!!?!?!?! What a legend.
there is a gundam called the kimaris - from the iron blooded orphans series that has a massive spear, hope this helps
Finally, someone else who likes Centurions
Centurions are unironically superior to everything in the Primaris range and you can't convince me otherwise.
The rhino is a great model
"Mom, get my chainaxe. Paul doesn't like the Eightbound!"
I actually got Boomdakka Snazzwagon just to paint it - made orcs albino so it was even bigger reference to mad max xD
We really need a refreshed centurion model. I feel the current ones look like a kid who's wearing an oversized coat that they'll grow into
