    Seth Rogen, man.. Dude is such a brilliant producer it’s insane. He had the genius idea to have the turtles actually be played by teenagers for the first time in franchise history.
    It’s a game changer tbh. The animation is killer, the characterizations are spot on, the dialogue is brilliant, the soundtrack is next level (no diggity is the best scene).
    If I had to complain, I’d say I wish it was a tad more emotional. Both Spider-verse movies made me cry. I was hoping I’d get that here, but that doesn’t take away from the film. It’s a banger.

    • @MelodicQuest
      @MelodicQuest Год назад +2

      This movie was much more lighthearted than Spiderverse. Splinter had a few emotional bits. The scene where Superfly tells his crew "I can keep you safe. You just have to do what I say!" and Splinter realizes he's been forcing his world view on his sons just like Superfly. And also the scene where the New Yorkers help him up and Splinter sees that there i some good in humanity.

    • @AlexLove631
      @AlexLove631 Год назад

      @@MelodicQuest yea for sure, and those were my favorite bits too. I just wanted a little bit more. The tone was perfectly balanced, with dialogue that felt completely real. Hoping it matures a tad with each installment

    Loved this film. Beautiful animation and a heartfelt story. The new characters fit right in and the score was one of the best this year, IMO. Is it different? Yes - but TMNT established a multi-verse before anyone else in 2009 with TMNT Forever. There is more than enough room for a new variant universe, animated or live action. I'm excited to see what is next.

    I just realized that if Baxter stockman is still alive and superfly gets re oozed the idea that Baxter stockman turns himself into a fly monster would be a really sweet resolution for father and son. They would be mutant fly people together.

    finally got to see it last night! as someone who loves the 80's cartoon & the original comic run, and the 1990 film, but not a lot after that, i absolutely adore this film. it definitely has that 'Liquid Television' vibe about it, the animation is beautiful, the music & needle drops are perfect, and the characters and story took all the best elements from what i feel makes TMNT so special, and made something new and cool for kids today while also throwing us old farts a bone or two as well. can't wait for Part 2! 💚

    Due to some scheduling issues I ended up seeing this movie as a double feature alongside The Haunted Mansion. Called it my Double Creature Feature. Yeah neither of the movie are creature films but cause the Turtles are basically cryptids i thought it would be fun to lump them together with a campy horror title. All this is to say i had a slightly off kilter perspective walking in to this movie. I am actually writing this a few days after listening to the podcast vut someone said something along the lines of “this is my thing and i am gonna rock with it” and thats where i am trying to drive this curving story to. People that generally love horror seem to come to love it cause they feel like they are on the outside looking in, the monster in the story or have some other view where they very strongly attach to the characters in it. This movie kinda shifting the emphasis off the Ninja and putting it on Teenage really kinda puts the turtles in that realm of creature feature. At the end of the day all the weird horror lovers just really want to be liked and find their people. So in my mind this movie will forever be a light hearted creature feature. Its nice to see you all enjoyed it too.

    This is legitimately the first movie I've ever walked out on(i stayed for bvs mind you, though that might be the reason i didn't let this one slide) its one thing to make the movie pretty(though I'm not a fan of "me too" movies that copy art style) and maybe have some cool scenes and have awesome actors, but its a completely different thing to just change the main origin, and its what gets me the most. I saw someone post "seth rogen did it again", yeah i think this is his first miss. After the boys and invincible, this is a disappointment.

      * i wanted to wait til i'd seen all 3 films before replying... the art styles are very different for all three films. aside of all three using the same kind of 3D animation techniques as Pixar etc. under the hood, the styles layered over the top are quite different for each film: one is derived from comic book art panels using various mediums (Spider-Verse), one is a more traditional/classical oil painting style (Puss in Boots) and one is almost a messy crayon and ink sketchng style (Mutant Mayhem)... they're all different to the usual CG animated style, but are wildy different techniques in their own right, but you're right in that the technique of traditional painting/printing covering the usual 3D wireframe animation is the same for all three. @@Tallahassee21

    • @Tallahassee21
      @Tallahassee21 Год назад +1

      @@NF_Redux no, the art is different, the slower fps on the characters are my issue. since the release of "into the spider verse" this will be the 3rd movie to incorporate that specific effect. It's what I meant by me too animation, though I realized I said art,🤦🏽‍♂️because it's one thing to have an aesthetic choice but completely different to just copy from another film. But at the end of the day it's not my main gripe with it, but its an additional layer to my dislike for the film in general.
