This is literally the best video on how to make scrunchies not using the burrito method. I’ve been using the burrito method for scrunchies I sell on my Etsy shop but I haven’t liked the way they look too much, I saw a comparison video and this method makes the scrunchie look more fluffy and full
Works for me every time. Go to your local sewing center or a friend that sews and ask for help. I promise you can sew the elastic together. Since I can’t see what you’re doing wrong, I can’t help.
Hi, I have been so inspired by your video, ever since our "Lockdown" commenced in England , March 2020, I decided to grow my hair, I have never had long hair before, usually wearing my hair in a short "pixie" cut,! for centuries! so now after 13 months my hair is becoming just on the brink of wearing a scrunchie, so your video was excellent. Thank you.
Thanks so much! This is the best way of explaining how to make scrunchies. I make quilts and I have so many strips left over. I will try to make scrunchies out of them so I started to look for an easy way to make them and your was the easiest.
i was inspired by you and angela jasmina to buy my own sewing machine and now i am starting to buy fabric to be able start doing some scrunchies and maybe sell it on etsy! then maybe if i get enough money i want to buy an embroidery machine to start making some personilized things!
Great video. I grew my hair out during the pandemic, in some real need for some scrunches that won’t hurt my hair. You mentioned getting some weights, go to your pantry and get some canned veggies, they would work great for you are doing, then you will know whether or not weights would be your thing. Then you can decide whether to purchase some fancy ones or you can stay with the veggies. Just a thought.
Could you please do a close up (slowly) showing how you use the dowl rod to invert the scrunchie? My husband made one of the stands, like yours, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to use it! Of course, I’m getting on in years so figuring things out takes me a bit longer than some folks, lol! ❤ Oh, do you only use half inch elastic?
Have you ever tried to add the elastic to the scrunchie at the step where you turn it right side out with your magic stick? Would it go in along with it?
Mija what size is the towel and also the bottom to I got my serger today the same kind you and Neita have. I think i like these better theres no seam on top. say hi to the Queen of tutus for me. hugs be safe Thanks for the tutorial 👍👍👍
Loved the video and totally love the chunky scrunchies!! One thing that helps me when cutting large pieces of fabric is to fold the fabric in half and use a quilting ruler.
Hello! I’m wondering what settings your serger is on? I can’t figure out what settings to have it on for silky fabric. I just bought this exact Serger and want to make scrunchies and other stuff like wild rags. I’ve messed around with the knobs but I’m not knowledgeable enough. 😅
I'm trying to figure that out too, and she hasn't answered anyone who has asked. I made one following the video and the last step I sewed through the elastic, it seems like that what she says to do. It doesn't look good. Also, other video's show you turn the seam on the inside after the last step, so I'm sticking with the other way.
Idk if y’all figured it out but I found a video that shows it! It’s her second example of making a scrunchie-3 ways in the video… look up notches sewing -video name is how to sew scrunchies in bulk
Thank you for the video. Very detailed unlike others. The measurements and all the little nuances. I have subscribed for that reason❣️Hopefully you remain “transparent and forthcoming it will allow your channel to grow faster❣️ For you being organic I am inscribing from the 2 scrunch makers I had subscribed too. They held back measurements
Anyone if you could answer this. What Thread count do you use? 40, 50, 60 ect. Thanks... And where do you purchase it from please all information is great information. Thanks
I just use the ones at walmart the 99 cent to $4 ones or thirft store. I don't pay to much attention to thread count doesn't seem important for me to use.
Omg your a queen on cutting a straight line on fabric without a ruler 📏. Do you recommend a serger for making the scrunchies? Will a sewing machine work?
You can do an invisible stitch by hand or just machine stitch it. Since it’s only an inch or two nobody really sees it, esp since it gets bunched together
What is the size of that cutting mat?? I need one that size. It's long enough for the Scrunchies. Thank you for your tutorial, you have been I great help and a great teacher.
That last little part where you connect the two pieces of fabric, but didn't show how it is done.....do you just do a straight sticth over the entire thing, sewing the top, bottom, and elastic together? I'm having a hard time understanding the last step. Can you demonstrate it? Your video was very nice. Thank you for posting it.
I just subbed you. I have an etsy store, but I make doll clothes, children's clothes and I crochet also. You have inspired me to try the scrunchies. I have so many scraps and I don't know what to do with them. So now maybe I can get those scraps used. I like the rod your dad made. Did he just use wood glue and stick the 2 pieces together. I don't know about wood.
Those are so cute. You almost have me thinking I could make them. I have the same Serger still in the box since last month. Maybe I will try. Love you guys and stay safe.

After you thread the elastic, sew the elastic together with the sewing machine. Takes less time than tying the knot and won’t come apart with use.
Every time I do that my needle breaks so I have to do that part by hand.

That's what I do .
@@juliadixon6252 definitely can sew the elastic.

So far the best and easiest video I've watched on this topic. Thank you so much.

This takes me back to the 90’s 😁💖
I love the wooden stick you used. Make it so easy to turn inside out. Love those satin scrunchies.
Excellent Video! Thank you for actually showing what you do to make them. I appreciate all of the direction!

I really like the satin ones! The look so soft and comfortable to wear🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you! I have been looking for a side hussle and this was great to watch lord knows I needed to see this so thank you god bless
What a creative idea 💡 I love ❤️ it. Going to make some for myself.
Do you use braided or knit elastic? Which do you find to be most durable? Is there a certain brand you prefer? Thanks!
Cute!! Easier with a quilting ruler to cut the five inch width? Just a thought.
Thanks! Yes, i have to buy one

What’s the width of the elastic ? Did you double fold the tube . Thank you
1/4" elastic 0:19 and she only folded in half 3:38
I loved it! I love the way you explain everything so perfectly ❤️
Love it. What is your surger settings at ? ❤️❤️❤️❤️
How do you sew the two ends together without sewing over the elastic with the machine.

I just sew over it. Made my first ones to day found that way easier and it won't show
You have to sew over the elastic. The elastic just won't move around.

Made my life so much easier!!😩

I use large shot glasses with coins in it for weights 💞
Thank you so much for sharing. Always wondered how these were done. Simple and easy tutorial.
Omg your a queen on cutting a straight line on fabric without a ruler 📏. Do you recommend a serger for making the scrunchies? Will a sewing machine work?
Please get a quilting ruler for precise measurements but more important protect your fingers. You’re too sweet to get hurt❤️
Gotta make some scrunchies...
Thanks for the video 😍
Excellent Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you Shuga
So cute🥰🥰Thank you so much for showing us 😊😊
I was struggling with the measurements , I just saw your video ,literally midnight but still I just made one piece and it helped thank u
Lovely scrunchies 😍 thanks 👍
This is so quite . I love this fabric
Sewing it is better. Your method is fast. Keep going.
What was the size of the elastic this was great thank you!!
Hello, what embroidery machine do you have in the back there in the purple, how much do you like it to recommend that I am in search for one
Can i use fabric glue instead of sewing machine.....love from india
Nobody ever shows the last straight stitch up close 😭I’m a newbie with my machine. How do I hide it?
You can do an invisible stitch by hand or just machine stitch it. Since it’s only an inch or two nobody really sees it, esp since it gets bunched together
Lower the stitch length to a 1 or 2 will also make it nearly invisible just don't go too low or it won't work properly.
جميل جدا❤ يرجي كتابة المقاسات علي الفيديو❤❤❤
could you please show a little closer how to turn the scrunchie with the wood dowel. I can't get it
Where did you get you large cutting mat. I really need one of those. Thank you
I have the same mat and I found it at Walmart
What is the size of that cutting mat?? I need one that size. It's long enough for the Scrunchies.
Thank you for your tutorial, you have been I great help and a great teacher.

Yes. Line up the front and back edges and just do a straight stitch over the seam where it joins.
you should keep the salvage edge on the piece of fabric. I did I hear you say "fine fabric at Hobby Lobby"?
Hi! Thank you for sharing. I just stitched a scrunchie for the first time. Looks amazing. But I didn’t get the ending right. Gonna try again.
Hi there, love your videos . What embroidery thread would you recommend? I didn't see any listed above. Thanks
Thank you. Perfectly explained. Excited to try
Pretty work 🌷🌹🌷 Like it ❤️❤️❤️
I like the video.. Easy to understand..

Do you sell the scrunchies on the same Etsy site as you saw your tutus or did you make a whole different one
Can this be finished with a brother 1034d?

Luv watching your RUclips channel. Very informative

Those are so cute. You almost have me thinking I could make them. I have the same Serger still in the box since last month. Maybe I will try. Love you guys and stay safe.
