Easy DIY method to make scrunchies with a clean professional finish.
Plain scrunchie - cut fabric 5” x 28”
¼” x 10” of elastic
Jazz up your scrunchie and add another layer on top to make it fancier.
Double layer Scrunchie - inner layer - cut 5”x 28” outer layer- cut 7” x 28”
Adjust fabric and elastic length to your liking😊. Have fun sewing!!

I do the 2 layer method this way because the seam will stay on the inside of the scrunchie, not move around much or stay on the outside….

I have just made two double-layer scrunchies for my granddaughters using frozen print cotton for the inside and pale blue chiffon for the outside. They look lovely and my granddaughters will absolutely love them. Thank you so much for this video. I really appreciated it.

Thanks Christine for the feedback. one of the best things you can do for your machines is keeping it dust free everywhere. just a tiny piece of dust can throw things off. And always cut and sew as accurately as possible. This way things will fit together properly and the finish will look more professional. Have a great day!

yes, I'm new to the business like 1 month new. But I've been practicing for like 2-3 months trying the easiest and perfect length for scrunchies. I tried also ur short vid using a hair tie instead of elastic. I use it for the wider fabrics since I can lose control when I tried it to the 4in fabrics... 💟
You may like my next video as the scrunchies have a different but simple look. I have a ton of ideas but very short on time to produce these videos as each one takes between 20-30 hrs in total to get just a few minutes……

What a lovely way to dress up a scrunchie! I definitely will try this. Satin and organza fray A LOT. But yours look so neat! What’s your secret?
Please do! I am using a very good quality stretch satin and regular organza. I cut out using a rotary blade and handle as little as possible. If you are only making a few, you can use pinking shears to cut to help with the fraying or you can use a bit of fray check on the edges . Mainly I just deal with the fraying………. the way you hand sew it closed is pretty cool. are you catching both sides of fabric at once instead of one side at a time?
You can sew either way. Just use small stitches to get a nice tight finish. Thanks for watching!
