Any movie plot involving the supernatural is going to be a bit hokey, but the cinematography in this film is top notch and the acting is much better than most horror films. I love Maika Monroe's subtle yet powerful presence. Great film overall.
I think the movie runs into a juxtaposition problem. It feels very grounded in reality and is shot in a way that feels realistic and not dreamlike or supernatural. And then it switches up and goes with an alternate route, only for that to confuse the audience by ignoring questions and creating plotholes.
I mean it was incredibly blatant from the first 10ish minutes that the black FBI agent was going to murder his own family. Called it the moment he brought her to his house and the little girl was like “do you want to come to my birthday party?” RIGHT AFTER THEY TALKED ABOUT IT HAPPENING WITH FAMILIES OF LITTLE GIRLS WITH BIRTHDAYS ON THE 14th! 😂
@@RuralJuror420 The fact that neither of them put 2 and 2 together on that, when they're the LEAD INVESTIGATORS was appalling. There were quite a few issues that the director seemingly ignored that don't add up or aren't explained at all: 1. How did they know to find Longlegs at that bus stop? It felt so anti-climatic that they just knew where he was (and WHY was he at a bus stop, he has a car). 2. If you just happen to know where he is at the bus stop, chances are, you were following or tailing him to get his whereabouts. Which means they should've known that he was living in her mother's basement. 3. If I'm an FBI agent, and the person I'm investigating shows up at my home and gains entry to leave me a birthday card, there's no chance in hell that I wouldn't have been on the phone to get cops and the FBI there to immediately swarm the area to catch the guy. 4. That psych ward didn't have cameras? They couldn't look at footage and see who it was that had visited that girl? And wouldn't the orderlies have noticed a distinctively weird looking guy showing up to visit someone who's family had been involved in murder suicide (it's not like she was getting other visitors, she was an unresponsive vegetable up until then). This movie sucks
I loved this film.Only other film that had me literally sitting on the edge of my couch was 7.Inly problem i had was i want so much more specially on how longlegs became longlegs
I can do horror, but the 9year old one month into decomposition in a heated house. Shook me to the core. Ritualistic and one for the occult. Definitely evil provoking Satan himself, “hail Satan, hail Satan” I just can’t do it again.
It was very disturbing honestly
It’s pretty much chucky aside from minor bits lol
Chuck at least had kills
Bro what are u dumb this movie is NOTHING like chucks there wasn’t anything played out that attributed this movie to chucky
This movie is a representation on the way the world is now. Everyone is thinking the world is better the way it is now. It's not. We're living in sin and the devil is tricking people into thinking that smoking, drinking heavily, the lgbtq, and disrespecting each other is ok. There's a reason you don't see a lot of Christian movies anymore.
Lol
Youre thinking to much into it
You need therapy
“The devil is tricking people into thinking the lgbtq is ok” 🙄 SURE JAN
Bro added in the lgbtq lmfao
really crappy movie
Hail Satan

Can someone give Maika a tip that breathing like Darth Vader in every scene is not acting. Get her an oxygen tank or some cardio.
Don't be mean.
Here’s a tip: keep it to yourself
@@freakinflax Yeah, because if you disagree with someone, you should never speak. How about this - don't read it and keep THAT to yourself. I am not the only one who has mentioned this (a whole comment section in a few videos was devoted to her breathing). If you're going to have people go on and on about how much of a wunderkind she is and how brilliant she is, she'd better be. And she's not. I loved Maika in It Follows and a few other movies she's been in, but I have a right to call it. It is not like I called her trash.
@@tan319 I'm being real, not mean. I guess people can't take anything anymore without their feelings being deeply hurt or needing to hide in a safe space. Oh well.
@@jbjacobs9514 people like you are the first to get butthurt when something hits too close to home lmao
It's really impossible to satisfy people at this point. Maybe films aren't for you people.
Those people could probably try some foreign films which aren't always about ticket sales. I felt pretty satisfied with Longlegs however.
The movie sucked..I was looking forward but it was all just overhyped. Nicholas cage acting was horrible and was not scary...just seem like he was doing an impression of an old woman. Don't waste your money
A lot of people may hate me for saying Nicholas Cage really isn't a good actor lol, but I love Maika Monroe.
@@chairun75 wel he actually is a good actor...you should see the movie joe and that movie is great
This movie totally sucked I don't think I've seen a movie this bad in years
@@billypardew2337I agree with you
