I love having a camcorder as part of my kit. I have an Sony AX700, which is a 1" sensor camera from about 2018 that I use in combination with a DSLR system. I also volunteer for a community cable TV channel, and they use Sony PXZ-290s for any kind of event coverage, including live music, sports - hockey, basketball, and curling. I find that for any type of live event filming, where you might be needing wide angles of a free throw, getting close ups of action, emotion on people's faces, plus quick interviews with coaches and players after the game, the camcorder is a fantastic tool. You can get slow zooms while panning and you can usually get through a couple of hours of shooting without a battery change. Looking forward to your video on the NX200, its a bit pricey but something I'm looking at!
@@dustmote3020 absolutely! I think everyone should have a camcorder in their kit. As you know, they can be very handy. For me, I was looking for a camcorder to supplement the cameras I already had, not replace them. The NX800 came along at the right time. I’m familiar with the ax700, my dad has an ax33 I think it is. Love the form factor of those cameras as well! At first I thought both the Z200/NX800 were too pricey, but the more I thought about, the more it made sense for the different types of work I do. I looked at it as a big tax write off haha!
@@davidlara9808 yeah for a 1” sensor I think it held up pretty well. Full frame will definitely have the advantage with depth of field. That and low light is where it’ll be noticeable
Would love to see more footage. Especially for interviews
@@davidmorefield next interview I film, I’ll do a 3-camera setup 😁

They pair well. I could tell based on the slightly more depth of field on the first and last clips.
