The use of the song "The Chain" while the Guardians are going their separate ways mirrors the relationships between the members of Fleetwood Mac even as they were recording. The band was falling apart while they were singing about the "Chain" keeping them together. Just like the Guardians. That song choice is so much deeper than it seems.
My only complaint about that was at the scene when peter and ego start to fight and the song starts playing but they always cut it off before it got to the chorus like ughh the buildup and then blue balls.
the song itself does that too tho, as far as i know the pure build up - chorus is remixed version.
As far as i know, the buildup *_is_* the chorus. Also, it was that Peter broke with Ego to remain with his family of friends.

Some more symbolism for ya: Growth for the sake of growth is a tumor. Ego's exposition on how he must grow and expand until he encompasses everything could've been foreshadowing him giving Meredith brain cancer, or it could be symbolism for how he himself is a tumor, to both Peter and the universe.

But yondu missed on purpose, as figured out when rocket declares it's gonna blow the whole ship, and yondu says "not all of it" and they proceed to detach from the rest of the ship.
And when Peter made the ball of light, Ego screams: "YES!"
Because he later reveals that he was the only one of his kids with the celestial gene. So he is happy. And he is awaiting his plan.

Drax saying that the chest armor made his nipples hurt is an unsaid reference to the markings on Drax chest, the markings are on him for a reason, they are sort of a living entity placed upon him by Thanos father and Grandfather to unleash a power that is supposed to either subdue or kill Thanos desire to destroy the Universe, the reason Drax says his nipples hurt him is either the markings cause him discomfort when covered or Drax had unconscious memory of having the marks bestowed upon him and his discomfort is psychological and he subconsciously knows the marks must not be covered up so the marks can unleash their power when needed.

Ego came into existence, after a celestial wasn't able to form a body around its brain (as celestials are not born they just exist), causing it or him to just learn to manipulate matter around him to form a planet body.

Any thoughts on Ego not actually being a celestial, but and is in fact a creation of the celestials but as his name implies he is too self centered to embrace that and is trying to seems better than he really is? I just have a feeling that the term celestial wont be interchangeable with elder of the universe

There is no way Ego is an actual Celestial. They even showed how they looked like in the first movie. I'm sure he just assumes he is one because he is so mighty and powerful.
The celestial showed in the first movie is just an armored being with red light energy. Ego was blue light in his true form, his human form was constructed by him.
I had to severely refrain myself from crying when Yondu died... I still have those ancient Guardians Of The Galaxy Comics with Charlie-27 and Martinex(I think that's his name) and Yondu so it pains me to see such a great character, comics and MCU, die. It hurt to see Charlie and Martinez reduced to thugs, when they were such heroes in the 20th century Guardians Of The Galaxy. 😢

The most illogical thing in the movie is that the Dairy Queen has remained open since the 80's. In Missouri? In this economy? I don't think so.
Knowing there are cheaper places to eat... There is actually a DQ in my town...which is a small hillbilly mountain coal county that has 2 hospitals...and one of them was actually bought out by a former coal company owner.
But DQ still has plenty of business here.
Then again it sits right on US25E that leads into TN and Virginia. So alot of customers are probably passing through lol.
We have a Waffle King...country Waffle House knockoff. Place still has the same furniture and deco from the 80's...they just get them refurbed once in a while.
