There is a photo of a North American XB-70 Valkyrie on the wall in Pancho’s. That could be a nod to the Hydra Valkyrie in Captain America, or to the character from Thor, or both!

The marvel timeline hasn't changed. The Captain America tesseract origin still fits perfectly. Tony Stark's dad gives the tesseract to PEGASUS so that it can be studied. This actually makes a lot of sense, because Tony Starks' dad helped found PEGASUS. Then at PEGASUS, Mar-Vell gets ahold of it.
Of course Tony Stark and SHIELD just casually lost the Tesseract for 6-7 years. Not even trying to find out what Mar-vell did with it?

@@zain805 in Avengers when they confront Fury about the weapons he points at Thor and says they started making weapons of high power because Thor showed them that really powerful beings existed off Earth. But Captain Marvel takes place decades before that so he already knew.
That’s because he’s the spy of spys. His secrets have secrets. He told them what he wants them to think. Diversion tactics. Same way he did when he said agent colson was dead but wasn’t really. Tell em what u need to tell em to get them to do what u need done
No what fury was referring to is thors destructive power as well as the destroyer that razed that town in the first thor movie. The skrulls were spies that could be brought down by the same measures as humans.
The "Protectors to Avengers" initiative scene with Coulson and Fury also links back to Agents of SHIELD season two and why Robert Gonzalez was convinced that Coulson, like Fury, was obsessed with assembling powered individual since this shows that it was the pet project of two, lowly levels 1 and 3 agents within SHIELD that started it and fermented over the next two decades as they both climbed to the top spots within SHIELD and before exploding into the public eye in the events of the Avengers movie.

Johnathan Pretet Episode 2-11 of Season 1 will drag you to a "meh" story. Although, those episodes are important.
The rest of the 5 seasons are great especially season 4 and 5.
Suddenly a lot of consistency gave us bigger hope for the connection to be a bit clearer. The controller and the memory-wiping thing gave the AoS writers the safety to keep Coulson out of the questions on why he had no memory of Carol.

David Gbenoba the thing is that in the comics they are pretty much both the bad guys, which was what I was still expecting to be the case here as well. But making the Skrull, arguably the least trustable race in the Marvel Universe, the victims and generally good guys was a good twist.

Amazing how many nods to old movies and movie lines. Those of us over 40 appreciate them most. As Nick Fury is older, the Marvellettes song is a well known common song, not just a vine. And leave the lunch box take tthe tesseract is EXACTLY what I thought during the movie: leave the gun take the cannoli.
Also, the gun issue, using a potential bullet left in the chamber was a great idea! So my husband and I find that to be an accurate thought during a fight.

... The PJ Harvey album is pretty dang good also. I am not sure of the Easter egg-ification, but off my memory it def came out earlier than 1995. Does every damn thing have to be a reference to some other thing, can’t it just represent the time. Just be there... as it is. A good 90’s era album. Objectively, I love some of the Easter eggs (obviously or I would not be here) but damn.... sometimes it’s just there, it doesn’t always have a connection to some other property in media.

You missed the fact that the autopsy scene is a clear parallel to the autopsy in the Secret Wars comics that took place between Mr. Fantastic, Tony, and Hank Pym who was revealed a few pages later to be a Skrull, as Mendelssohn is as well.

i hope to see a captain marvel sequel. i know all the controversy caused quite a stir but it was a fun film. having carol fight that kree war and end it would be a good sequel. yon-rogg wasn’t used too much in this film so he would be a good antagonist.
I have a fundamental comics question: Why are most Kree blue like Ronan, but others just look like humans with contacts, like Jude Law, Annette Bening and Djimon Honsou?
There are 2 colors to the Kree. The Blue and the Pink. The pink are upper class but are less common. The blue are the most common of the species. My question is why Korath is neither pink or blue.

Kree are just like Humans they are species that come in different colors shapes and sizes. Think of Star wars for Example a lot of Alien Species are like Humans because in reality we are Aliens
