    You missed Laszlo, duke of Transylvania in 1066. He has really good stats, owns de jure territory of like 3 duchies, has a claim and high position in succession for the kingdom of Hungary, and you start the game in a faction to install you as the king of Hungary, which also starts stronger than the starting king.

    This might just be my opinion, but I feel like Prince Rhodri of Gwynedd was overlooked in this video. He should have been somewhere in this list.

    it should also be worth mentioning that Vratislav has a relative that's a claimaint to the throne of the kingdom of Hungary, so with a solid alliance or a stroke of good luck, you can get the Přemyslid dynasty on two thrones at once, eventually controlling a gargantuan realm as a single character later down the line
    i'm legitimately convinced that the 1066 Vratislav start is the most disgustingly and blatantly OP non-king/emperor start in the game

    • @shawngillogly6873
      @shawngillogly6873 4 года назад

      Three. Your wife is a Piast, with a claim on the throne of Poland. Not to mention you constitute the totality of Czech culture, so development is a cakewalk. I'm not going to say it's more OP than Matilda or Rurik. But the range of options you have is amazing. You can play military and take one of 2 kingdoms. You can play tall and outdevelop all of central Europe. You can play the HRE game and get yourself on the throne (which is what I did), and thanks to House Seniority, once you're on the HRE throne, staying there is not difficult, because your heir is always going to be in the succession line.

    Would also recommend Duke Nino of Portucale in 1066, pretty easy to break away from Galicia and form an alliance with one or more of the Iberian rulers that can help grab the land necessary for the Last Count, First King achievement. Easiest way (I think) is to start as Halfdan, convert to Anglo-Saxon culture and Catholic religion, plot to murder Alfred, and then conquer conquer conquer as quickly as possible, using the pope to get claims on most of England (since you won’t have conquest CB anymore.)

    The most interresting duke is the guy that starts in 867 in Madurai, south india, because madurai has fucking 7 holding slots, and the other 2 countys in the same douchy have 5 and 4 slots with one special building for religious special buildings repsectively. And also, most of them are near the water so you can ltierally just spam tradeports and have more development then constantinopole before 1000. and be far ahead of what your tech can do, but then agian, you can also just have your tech be permanently overdeveloped
    Its rteally fun tho
    Infact i cant beleive you didnt mention any indians, especially not a madurai one, because they start soooooooooo strong, and can make osoooooo much cash while get SSOOOOOOOOOO MUCH Development, and theyre the only religion that has the bhakti tennant. What that means? a permanent medium healthboost to add to your witch coven and inbreeding. Also they can do human sacrefice
    Its actually quite broken when youre 122 yeras old and youre still feeling fine.
    Funnily enoug, you forgot to mention that as vladislav, you dont have a choice you WILL be the holy roman empire. Also yo udidnt mention that they start the game with a high medival succession law: House seniority.
    makes playing them really easy.

    Not the Duke of Aquitaine in 1066? You have sterling intrigue and basically own a third of France. The only downside is that you only have a daughter, but RNG usually starts you with the seducer trait so that's easily taken care of.

    I find Ivar kind of sucks. All the land you conquer are feudal holdings so you get zero benefit and he sucks at learning so becoming feudal is hard

    "...legendary house Rurikid, the foundind dynasty of what we know today as Russia" - phrase is not correct and reflects Russian point of view on Rurukid dynasty and its legacy. If you don't want to offend Byelorussians and Ukrainians (I think so), it is more likely to re-phrase it to "...legendary house Rurikid, the foundind dynasty of what we know today as Belarus, Russia and Ukraine", because Rurukids played significant role in state-building processes of each of those three modern nations, you can double-check that in reliable neutral historical sources. Except that the video is good, thank you for your work
