- A simple way to increase the power and performance of your Silverado 1500 is by installing a Rough Country Cold Air Intake. By replacing your Silverado's restrictive stock factory intake with a high flow filter assembly you will see and feel a noticeable increase in rear wheel horsepower and torque. This Rough Country Intake not only improves airflow for an increase in power, but it will also add a rugged appearance to your engine bay with its black finished intake tube.
No Tune Required. Rough Country engineered their Cold Air Intake to improve the performance of your Silverado without the need of reprogramming your computer. By utilizing flow dynamics, this Intake will increase power using the original factory tune. Even though a re-tune is not required for operation, AmericanTrucks recommends a custom tune to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) to get the best possible performance from this Cold Air Intake.
Reusable Air Filter. The included high flow air filter effectively filters out power robbing particles with its multi layer design. The specially treated media creates a sticky surface to capture microscopic contaminants before they can enter your Silverado's engine and do harm. Seeing that the filter is reusable there is no need to buy a new filter every few thousand miles. You can just clean the filter, re-oil it, and reinstall - saving yourself money in the long haul.
Simple Bolt-on Installation. Rough Country designed their Cold Air Intake kit to be a direct bolt-on replacement. With no special tools or extra modifications required installation can be completed in under an hour. All parts and detailed instructions are included. amtrucks.at/3tm95sq

I wish we could see the difference it makes in power on a dyno
The heat shield will not perfectly seal up against the hood.
So I bought a cheap Swimming Pool Noodle, cut, split and installed it onto the heatshield to help close any gaps under the hood.
So now, my filter doesn't suck hardly any hot air from the engine compartment.
Ran into a few fitting issues. Bracket that mounts from fender to heat shield was to short. Had to shim. Holes in intake tube for air flow sensor didn’t line up either and had to get creative. For the money it saved I guess it was worth the trouble.
Does this intake work on the 6.0 engine in the 2007 through 2008 Sierra?
Do you guys sell hoodies/t shirts like the ones you guys are wearing in this video? I dont see them on your site
Thanks for showing the pvc part
Thank for watching! -Zach
What i noticed was the radiator hose awkwardly ran over the intake line vs. Under the oem intake line. Why isn't it build correctly.
Why will this not work with 2008
Videos missing details as removing son hose from the stock air filter pipe
With it not having a top cover wouldn’t it still pull in hot air from the engine bay ?
Do I have to drill a hole?
Will this cause the check engine light to come on?
Lmao
Why wouldn't you show the sound difference too 🙄
I got mine in Chrome it looks nice Compared to the plastic look 👍
Thanks for watching!! -Zach
MAF relearn needed?
I would recommend disconnecting your battery during install and letting the truck run for a bit parked after installing so the MAF/computer can adapt to the new air intake. -Zach
A dry filter is the way to go , with a oiled filter , silicon ends up in your motor oil.
It's certainly less to worry about! If you don't put too much oil on your oiled filter and let it dry completely though, you should have any issues with sucky residual oil into your engine. -Zach
Why won’t it work on a 2007 or 2008 Tahoe/suburban
thats what i want to know, I cant find a video for an 07 new body style silverado
I just ordered it and will be installing it on my 2008 Suburban this week. I installed the K&N on my previous 2008, looking at this video so far I see ZERO reason it should have any issues on a 2007-2008. Should know for sure by Thursday night.
What’s IAT?
Intake air temp! -Zach
I was hoping to get this but it is never in stock.so got useless american truck gift cards
Should be back in stock next week. 😉 -Zach
Why wouldn’t you let us hear the sound difference?
More like hot air intake 😅
