    For anyone using this video as a guide to install, there is no need to cut the provided tube. There is a new process for fitting the tube in the newer kits provided by K&N. Refer to the instruction manual for directions

      @@Cloudwalker_Exploring @btw6060 - I wish I read this as well because I did the same thing - howvever for anyone that does it, a 2 foot section of 5/8" tubing is what you need to replace it, and you can get it right from any AutoZone or Advance Auto along with two small hose clamps. One of those moments where I wish I had read the directions first before just watching the video and following along with it lol. But its an easy fix and was only $8 for the tubing and 2 small clamps. But thanks for trying to give us the heads up lol

      I had to cut the stock vent hose 8 inches back , then added the rubber hose with the elbow then another 4 inches up to the tube . The stock plastic vent tube ran way past the K&N housing so it needed to be cut . I also had a problem with the rubber hose provided inside diameter. I just about blew a nut pushing and pounding the elbow on even using a bit of soapy water . No need for a clamp . Anyway , it’s in and I’m satisfied. Fit and finish is great. I can feel the power difference. My issue is that when I'm pulling my trailer uphill and getting into the higher rpms, it feels and sounds like the power falls flat on it's face for a couple seconds and then kicks back up. Then repeats multiple times. Any thoughts? I haven't reprogrammed the truck. I don't have a programmer.

    I’m not sure which intake to get this ones cheaper, does the plastic intake tube make a difference or is it the same as the metal one that comes in the other kit?

    • @DeltaSierra426
      @DeltaSierra426 5 лет назад

      You mean a difference besides aesthetics? Generally, plastic won't conduct as much heat to the inside of the intake tube, but the series 77 does produce more power than series 63, so intake tube material is probably more of a visual difference than performance. The size and curvature of the tube itself makes a bigger difference in these kind of applications. Use-case will help determine that as well -- repeated runs at a drag track will especially prefer the better-insulated intake tubes.

    I’m confused now I thought the 5.7L came with 395 hp

      It does! Drivetrain loss changes that number when you measure it at the tire though. -Zach

      395 at the engine, when they run the,m on the dyno its HP at the wheels which will always be lower than what the manufacture claims the HP is

      For Model Year 2013 and later, yes, at the flywheel. Of course, every dyno is different -- some correct for altitude, temperature, and so on.

      To the crank, 395hp under optimal conditions, air temp, fuel quality, altitude. The drive train normal equates to a 15-30% loss from these number. The number on the dyno sheet are to the wheel, which is a measurement including the losses that the vehicle puts to the ground.

    Don’t switch to these BS CAI systems whatever the brand ! It’s just useless.
    Keep your original air box and replace with a good air filter from Green, K&N, JR any reputable brand.
    You will get better results !

    Waste of money! The maintenance on that filter is expensive and time consuming! Don't waste your money. It does not improve horse power!

      Expensive ? You just have to rinse and wash it out with cleaner and re oil it like once or twice a year. Lol. The kit with cleaner and new oil is like $20 and it'll last forever
