Well I took a chance and got this kit. I can't use the main airflow tube from the filter. I could not use the rubber hose as it just split when I finally got it on to clamp. I had to use my factory airtube from filter and still am not sure what to attach the oil vent too with the setup I had to use just to get it in. One shouldn't have to bend anything new to make it fit together. Airflow tube assembly took up some time putting it together only to find out it was made improper and is too short to use. Rubber gromet to place in oxygen sensor was too small for the hole it was to go in, so after I put in in, it would jump all around. End result is probably put factory system back in and wait to but a better quality setup. 2014 Ram 1500 Express Hemi
I’m glad I finally found a comment of someone having the same problems I had. My runner hose split every time I tried putting it on the, I had to use the little factory tube and kept it on the vent tube and clamped that down. Lastly this video never shows the vent tube being cut so my tube rubber tube didn’t coil properly so it’s caused the truck to whistle. Finally I got smart and looked at the rough country site and apparently it was supposed to be cut. I’m not saying this video made that cut but if so it would’ve been nice to have known. 😅
Awesome thanks! So glad I bought a his filter and u uploaded this easy install video! Was worried I’d have to go at it alone on my new truck and screw something up badly! Since I’m doing my catch can at the same time this will be a breeze! Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Very Nice Straight forward Instructional Video Thank U I can Because I know Most of it's common Send But I remembered as a Kid installing Cold air intakes on my early Hondas I'd always Get Rpms rise and drop almost CONSTANTLY 😅 and if I remember correctly we had to replace the egr valves to match or accommodate? Also do I need anything else as it's New OEm Stock?
With all due respect. I haven’t been able to connect my main tube to the air box. It just isn’t long enough. I have to convert back to my oem. If you added about 1 inch it would work.
Appreciate the video, the bolts that come for/with the clamps are straight junk, 2 bolts broke on me and I had to go but some heavy duty ones for almost 9$ a pop. Other than that this tutorial was perfect!
I just got mine. Lots of good reviews online, but it seems like it's built fairly poorly. Scratches in the finish, gaps where holes weren't drilled properly, instructions said to use lock washers that didn't fit on those bolts, vent opening doesn't line up properly, just seems like it's meant for a different vehicle. The instructions are poor and done in a different order than you did, but the way you did it makes more sense. I'm going to hold onto the OEM air box if I need to swap it out.
Also, they wanted you to cut your hose instead of just putting the extension on, but I like that idea, because I don't want to cut anything. Thanks for that! Should be fine, because they have mini universal cone filters for the breather instead of that, I've used them before.
after the install you did not put the engine cover back on does it not fit with the rough country cold air intake. I will be installing this on my 2012 ram just curious as to why you didn't put engine cover back on hopefully I will be able to put cover back on. . ?
It doesn’t fit with it sticking out so much I just got done installing mine I was thing about cutting the cover to fit but idk what I will end up doing
@@clutches6954 he installed the vacuum hose directly I tried that but it was kinked too much so I used the 90 degree elbow that came with the kit and it lowered the hose to where it wasn’t kinked and the engine cover went back on like it was supposed too. Thx for the reply
can you tell me the size of the plastic hose fitting that you have to thread in there, mine broke and I would like to replace it with a metal or at least better quality one
@@bmeach4940 kind of a silly question but will the performance be as good or should I just go with a K&N? I haven't been able to find anything on either was thinking this one or the 63 * K&N system. 200 bucks or 400 I feel the 400 price point should be better but I have no clue .
Is it possible to have the Mishimoto Oil Catch Can and this Rough Country Cold Air Intake installed at the same time? Like is the CAI gonna take up too much room so that the Catch Can won't fit?
I have a flowmaster cai that seems to be the exact size as this rough country cai. And I was able to install a mishimoto oil catch can without any issues
Just installed mine. Started it up , idles fine. Took it for a quick drive everything was good. Parked somewhere to turn it off for a moment. Started it back up and the check engine light came on. Checked my work , tubes and hoses secured. Sensor secure. I don’t have access to check the codes because it’s late at night but does anyone have any ideas what it might be? Or has anyone experienced the same thing. Ok update. The code is p0113 intake air temp sensor 1 circuit high bank 1. I don’t get it ? Thought it was just plug and play ? Did a hard reset overnight too hoping it’ll reset everything but light keeps coming back on after starting up again after a drive cycle
Same issue. With the crankcase vent tube connecting after the filter but before the IAT, I believe the tiny bit of contaminated air is causing it to foul. If you've found a solution since this post, please share.
@@williammartineau3601 yeah I figured it out. So turned out the sensor adaptor that came with the kit wasn’t welded right. Where the wire connects with the connector. It was loose so didn’t make good contact. Had to reweld it. After that it was all good
Worst installation video ever... I'm going to use this bolt (what bolt you didn't tell us) all bolts are same head size 3 different lengths)....Should be able to screw it right in yeah you should but I had to man handle and bend the shit out of it to get the screws in as the slot holes and threads were way misaligned. Followed your instructions for the rubber boots... Got all the way to putting it in and realized you put the boots on the opposite sides than what they go on had to take it apart and redo that correctly. Least you could do was warn us or advise us how much of the central intake tube should be inserted into each side. Why not show you messed up or at least reshoot the original part so as not to confuse viewers. Obviously you knew because you fixed it before install. The rubber grommet for sensor is also way way loose. The instructions were no better as it seems the pictures were just taken out of the video. The breather tube didn't work with the angle you hid it probably knowing it pinched the hose shut. Had to use the included 90 (huge pain in the ass to get the hose on even with lube) and trim the rubber hose included. I'm convinced from the camera angle you just slapped it together didn't even have it on properly and made it seem like wham bam you're done. 100% chinese crap with fittings slightly undersized. If I were to do it again I would not choose this build your own junk and just spend an extra $150 and get a ready to go Air Raid or K&N. (2013 Ram).

Just bout a 2020 kit from rough country. This video is so much harder than the newer kit from you guys.

Did not include the cut at 11’ for the breather hose. Will bend the included hose once installed and cause flow restriction.
