Years in special operations, no kids, now I’m done and got a dog. I had no idea I could love 9 pounds of fur so much. My entire adult life I fought to keep people safe..now I have this little guy who I would protect over any human..it’s frustrating to be able to save a person from a gunshot but not know how to save my whole world of fur. Until I found you! Because of your videos I feel I have a baseline knowledge and at least enough to know how to help and what not to do. I can’t express how much peace this gives me. Thank you sir, people like you make all my sacrifices worth it.

@@foxiedogitchypaws7141 Yes, I chose the job over kids and now it’s too late as we can’t , however now I have an idea of what people say when they talk about selfless and true love. I know it’s stupid and weak but this puppy has entered places of my heart I thought I lost over 17 hard years in combat . The puzzle piece I needed and couldn’t be happier or prouder to have a fur family.

Yes!!! I KNEW IT about pea protein! It’s the main ingredient in grain free dog food- and has horrifically injured my dog. Phytates stopped zinc absorption- he ended up with dunc deficiency, took almost a year to get proper diagnosis- then that turned into Zinc-related Sebaceous Adenitis - so for the last 2.5 yrs my beautiful standard poodle has been cycling in and out of bald, skin and nose and eye infections, etc. Bathing him weekly, shedding “casts”- Honestly, I do not wish this on any dog, or dog owner and I absolutely was certain it was the first five years of his life on grain free top brand with Pea protein but vets were not helpful. Thank you so much. He’s now on duck and potatoe kibble and cooked beef and liver. The kibble will go again this winter, weaning us both off the carbs again. 🤦‍♀️😎❤️

I have avocado trees. My dogs have been eating avocados as long as I have been here. Over 40 years. I have read other sources about avocados being toxic to dogs. But I have never seen it. Some of my dogs leave the skin. Some eat the meat and skin. I am surrounded by avocado groves. My vet has often mentioned how many of their patients put on weight due to eating avocados during the season. They have never warned me against it. It is just a normal part for dogs living in this community. I've had dogs who ate 6 to 8 avocados a day. Anyway, that has been my experience. My dogs have been taught by their predecessors to not eat the seeds.

Years ago I didn't know grapes were toxic. My dog loved them. Then she had a seizure. OMG so scary. Thank God she survived.
We do dog food have peas and tomatoes in them? That's crazy.

My dog took a bite of an Amanita muscaria mushroom from our yard once, but I didn't know until a while later. I realized when I went to give him a bath and he was completely covered in drool, so I did some quick investigating to figure out what was going on and found the mushroom. I had to get a rag and pull all of the drool out of his mouth because he couldn't swallow. Long story short, he was fine, but had I not noticed him sooner, he may not have been....I sometimes wonder what he may have been seeing though. Lol

@dr.athariqbal5487 maybe! That might explain why he would get excited every time he saw one of those mushrooms after that! 😅

When my dog was a pup she loved onion skins. I had to move the compost heap to stop her eating them.

There was a brand of dog food my mother only bought for our dog. Skippy dog food looked like beef stew. It contained peas. Our dog would carefully avoid the peas and leave them in a small pile in his bowl. Good boy, Sam.
