We know that Huaiyan did retire at some point before he was resummoned, it could be that in regards to Jing Yuan being the longest serving general. Hes been the general since the sedition and havent retired once
great video, I just have few questions about Jing Yuan's guandao. Won't it better said df probably was inspiration and less one defining force behind Starfall reverie creation? So far what we know about Yx's weapons they are very very customized and reflective of the weapon's wielder, be it impossible sword for Sword Champion or spear for High Elder. Also Starfall Reverie made from embers of Lux Arrow. I think what we know of Yx this man certainly would choose very specific and prestigious materials for his very specific people. (Also, and i fully acknowledge that it isn't very good evidence - it's more in jy's colors and absolutely, items in game not always match their lore in game. But also what weapon looks like can also be a part of storytelling - the way Cloud-Piercer fit df/dh.) And in non-in game stuff, (and absolutely mine interpretation) I think poem also fits Jing Yuan, considering one of his main themes as a character is about enduring passage of time, so the naming can be deliberate to Jing Yuan's character and hoyo loves to smach and/or share inspiration for different people, especially if they have shared past. But it's just mine thoughts and interpretations, ofc. thank you for the work, this man is one of my favorites and it's great to see video lore about him.
Cloudpiercer has a very similar design to the weapon wielded by Yubie, so most of the design was copied but we know that one was specifically made for Dan Feng. Shard Sword has a very similar aesthetic to the other weapons created on the Zhuming and, similar to the weapon mentioned in 2.4, was created as a reward for the Sword Champion which just happened to be Jingliu. Starfall Reverie's patterns are reflective of the patterns found all throughout the Luofu (see: Fu Xuan, architecture, Artifex's Gyreheart, etc) and the guandao seems to be the preferred weapon of Cloud Knights so it seems like a weapon he specifically made to reflect the Luofu and part of the Luofu is the azure dragon who also just happened to be the person closest to the craftsman. It also might be a colour associated with the Luofu in general because the cloud knights uniform uses the same azure colour as well as Xueyi and Hanya - though we don't know if the other ship's officials use the same colours, too. I can definitely see the writers designing Dan Heng as one of the main characters and then expanding his home world based on his aesthetics. As for the poem, the message is that life is fleeting and working a superficial official position instead of pursuing your passions is ultimately meaningless. Jing Yuan in relation to this poem is quite contradictory because he's acknowledged as one of the longest-serving generals yet talks about how 'life is ephemeral.' He never wanted to be general, yet he took the position anyway and has retained it for the last approx 800 years. It almost seems like he is in the foolish position of the poem's author yet an author who lives forever, while Dan Heng lives the life that the poem author wanted to have - and the life that Dan Feng wanted to have if Jingliu is to be believed.
@LalodysLore Okay I sort of agree with Shard Sword. I can definitely see about dh and luofu's aesthetic but the rest is weird to me. I guess it's a question of preferred interpretations bc I honestly don't see why Yingxing, being the kind of person that he was at a time, who we know for sure made weapon inspired by most famous High Elder's spear for HE at a time and then made another inspired by HE and it is weapon, like you said yourself, heavy associated with Cloud Knights, be it a weapon type itself or color. Absolutely azure dragon is part of Luofu but wouldn't Yx inspiration be more visible? Bc it's basically just a splach of color when Azure dragon at a time is a guardian of the Arbor and his close friend. With another weapon being so visible with for who and what inspired it, I think its reasonable to think that both both sentimental and factual importance would showed much more in design of Starfall Reverie if its made in df and/or HE image. Also I don't see why scion of Permanence is a main inspiration for basically treasure of the Hunt? Starfall Reverie made of embers of Lux Arrow and it doesn't makes sense to me to make such weapon in spirit of demigod of completely different path? Alliance and coexistence is one thing but weapons showing not just factions but path and basically symbols of glory are another. About the poem - it's still can fit jy? Yes he's is stuck in his position and if we considering messages in game as sourse of information, we know that he wanted to be Galaxy Ranger and travel cosmos and uphold justice. Jy can be looked as cautionary, bad way of life that author warn about while dh live a life the way everyone should.
I thought I spoke throughly with Qingzu but I didn't get the dialouge about the Snowmoon. So to think the cat he adopted was actually the lion from his splash art, thats cool.

About Teng Xiao timeline. Maybe he took a break? From the new quest we know it is possible. So maybe he was doing his general things, then took a time off for a couple of centuries and then came back.
for teng xiao he couldve taken breaks like huaiyan, cause in jing yuan like character stories it did say unlike other generals before and current they only serve a couple decades to a hundred years, while he served for multiple centuries

sorry for commenting this on this video and not others, but its your most recent one and i just want to ask: about the high elder succession, each imbibitor lunae up until bailu had been apart of the same reincarnation line, right? i see some people say that the new high elder is chosen not based on reincarnation, and dan heng says "once succession is complete, the former high elder undergoes a hatching rebirth, while the new high elder begins to display dragonic features", yet yubie is also mentioned to be the 90th reincarnation of imbibitor lunae, which contradicts that statement, unless what dan heng says only applies to if theyre getting a new elder entirely? again sorry if u addressed this in another video already, but im a lil confused haha
Bailu wasn’t chosen by Dan Feng if that's what you meant. Bailu isn't Imbibitor Lunae. The high elder has always been the Imbibitor Lunae bloodline and the transmutation arcanum was not given to her. In fact, Dan Heng is still considered the high elder by Huaiyan and he thinks of Bailu as a joke. You can look at Lalody's bloomborn scion video if there's still more questions.

@@mythic1617 high elder succession is pretty much bloodline like I said, they can't choose a new bloodline unless the previous bloodline actually loses their position. Also Dan Heng says what they taught him in prison, he doesn’t know the true deal at all.

Someone can only lament something if they once have it, then lost it. He can only lament the way his face is the same like every Imbibitor Lunae preceding him if he has a different appearance before the High Elder succession. So for now, I see High Elder as like a host of a divine power and the keeper of the art to turn into a dragon. 90th reincarnation is like the 90th chosen Viyadhara to be Imbibitor Lunae, the successor of Azure Dragon. 8:26 as someone who is of chinese descent and speaks chinese, i’m sorry WHERE does it say ANYWHERE that starfall reverie was designed for dan feng/in his image. he already has cloud piercer with 丹 etched on it. and considering the cloud knights ALSO use a guandao, and jing yuan is a cloud knight, it should be very apparent that this weapon was meant for him?? the little bit about him “grabbing it and never parting with it” in blade’s chara stories is a little insight to his personality and relationship to yingxing (bickering), NOT that he stole it. guan yu was a great tactician and general during the three kingdoms era, so hoyo giving jing yuan this weapon is meant to showcase his similar qualities. has absolutely NOTHING to do with yingxing and dan feng’s relationship. also considering this is a jing yuan video, why are you even bringing that up??? no i don’t care what anyone ships, i am a jing yuan fan first and foremost and i do not want a cool cultural reference to be demeaned like this.
Guan Yu's weapon was named after the azure dragon, the in-game weapon is also named after the poem on the back of the azure dragon's coat, the weapon itself is the colour of the azure dragon, and the craftsman that created it was closest to the azure dragon. It's not definitive by any means, but I think any reasonable person would find those things beyond mere coincidence.
@@LalodysLore yingxing made a weapon for everyone in hcq. shard sword for jingliu, cloud piercer for dan feng, and starfall reverie for jing yuan. unless you're gonna go and say that shard sword was also meant for dan feng too, it should be very clear that yingxing wanted to make weapons for all his friends. the hcq were all close friends with each other, which doesn't negate yx and df being closest. the weapon is mostly gold with blue accents, and jing yuan ALSO has blue accents on his outfit, so the color part isn't even relevant.
The only weapon we know for sure had a targeted recipient is Cloudpiercer. Shard Sword was gifted to the sword champion at the competition, just like the sword mentioned in 2.4, and that happened to be Jingliu. Starfall Reverie is unknown, as is the bow and every other weapon he crafted. Though tbh if I had to guess about the bow, considering Yingxing struggled to give her even a flask I doubt he personally gifted her a bow. I think it is merely natural that the best warriors ended up with the best weapons, but I think it's very presumptuous to say they were all crafted specifically for their recipients. Pretty sure Teng Xiao died in the battle against Shuhu. Also pretty sure that Xueyi's character story describes the battle against Shuhu, not Rahu devouring the Cangcheng.
Hanya's story shows the same scene including Teng Xiao's arrival and specifies that it's at Cangcheng. Each twin is shown a slightly different illusion, tho. Xueyi's story is also before she became a puppet - her body was burned and she was transferred to a puppet body to repent for her crimes (when she was controlled by Shuhu on Cangcheng), and Hanya joined her.

Not really enough info for a whole video but: Jingliu - very close. Jingliu implies Baiheng was her reason for enjoying life and fearing loss. Often drank together in Starskiffs, and Jingliu's whole motif of cutting down stars from the sky is from a promise made to her. Her phone case is about her and she's the only one with a voice line about her. Very distraught over her death. Yingxing - close friend, likely second closest person to him after Dan Feng based on the bosom friend description. She encouraged him to not feel disadvantaged for being a short life species when he was a kid. Him forgetting to disable the flint emperor also directly led to her mind being invaded by the Flint Emperor and likely possessed by a heliobi, leading to her self sacrifice in the sedition. Dan Feng - didn't seem as close. She was a normal friend, but a novelty in a world that treated him differently. Dan Heng retains very little information about her. Jing Yuan - not much information. Described as a mutual friend of Jingliu's (but not DF's and YX's?).

great video, I just have few questions about Jing Yuan's guandao. Won't it better said df probably was inspiration and less one defining force behind Starfall reverie creation? So far what we know about Yx's weapons they are very very customized and reflective of the weapon's wielder, be it impossible sword for Sword Champion or spear for High Elder. Also Starfall Reverie made from embers of Lux Arrow. I think what we know of Yx this man certainly would choose very specific and prestigious materials for his very specific people. (Also, and i fully acknowledge that it isn't very good evidence - it's more in jy's colors and absolutely, items in game not always match their lore in game. But also what weapon looks like can also be a part of storytelling - the way Cloud-Piercer fit df/dh.) And in non-in game stuff, (and absolutely mine interpretation) I think poem also fits Jing Yuan, considering one of his main themes as a character is about enduring passage of time, so the naming can be deliberate to Jing Yuan's character and hoyo loves to smach and/or share inspiration for different people, especially if they have shared past.
But it's just mine thoughts and interpretations, ofc. thank you for the work, this man is one of my favorites and it's great to see video lore about him.
Cloudpiercer has a very similar design to the weapon wielded by Yubie, so most of the design was copied but we know that one was specifically made for Dan Feng. Shard Sword has a very similar aesthetic to the other weapons created on the Zhuming and, similar to the weapon mentioned in 2.4, was created as a reward for the Sword Champion which just happened to be Jingliu.
Starfall Reverie's patterns are reflective of the patterns found all throughout the Luofu (see: Fu Xuan, architecture, Artifex's Gyreheart, etc) and the guandao seems to be the preferred weapon of Cloud Knights so it seems like a weapon he specifically made to reflect the Luofu and part of the Luofu is the azure dragon who also just happened to be the person closest to the craftsman. It also might be a colour associated with the Luofu in general because the cloud knights uniform uses the same azure colour as well as Xueyi and Hanya - though we don't know if the other ship's officials use the same colours, too. I can definitely see the writers designing Dan Heng as one of the main characters and then expanding his home world based on his aesthetics.
As for the poem, the message is that life is fleeting and working a superficial official position instead of pursuing your passions is ultimately meaningless. Jing Yuan in relation to this poem is quite contradictory because he's acknowledged as one of the longest-serving generals yet talks about how 'life is ephemeral.' He never wanted to be general, yet he took the position anyway and has retained it for the last approx 800 years. It almost seems like he is in the foolish position of the poem's author yet an author who lives forever, while Dan Heng lives the life that the poem author wanted to have - and the life that Dan Feng wanted to have if Jingliu is to be believed.
@LalodysLore Okay I sort of agree with Shard Sword. I can definitely see about dh and luofu's aesthetic but the rest is weird to me.
I guess it's a question of preferred interpretations bc I honestly don't see why Yingxing, being the kind of person that he was at a time, who we know for sure made weapon inspired by most famous High Elder's spear for HE at a time and then made another inspired by HE and it is weapon, like you said yourself, heavy associated with Cloud Knights, be it a weapon type itself or color. Absolutely azure dragon is part of Luofu but wouldn't Yx inspiration be more visible? Bc it's basically just a splach of color when Azure dragon at a time is a guardian of the Arbor and his close friend. With another weapon being so visible with for who and what inspired it, I think its reasonable to think that both both sentimental and factual importance would showed much more in design of Starfall Reverie if its made in df and/or HE image. Also I don't see why scion of Permanence is a main inspiration for basically treasure of the Hunt? Starfall Reverie made of embers of Lux Arrow and it doesn't makes sense to me to make such weapon in spirit of demigod of completely different path? Alliance and coexistence is one thing but weapons showing not just factions but path and basically symbols of glory are another.
About the poem - it's still can fit jy? Yes he's is stuck in his position and if we considering messages in game as sourse of information, we know that he wanted to be Galaxy Ranger and travel cosmos and uphold justice. Jy can be looked as cautionary, bad way of life that author warn about while dh live a life the way everyone should.
I thought I spoke throughly with Qingzu but I didn't get the dialouge about the Snowmoon. So to think the cat he adopted was actually the lion from his splash art, thats cool.

Bailu wasn’t chosen by Dan Feng if that's what you meant. Bailu isn't Imbibitor Lunae. The high elder has always been the Imbibitor Lunae bloodline and the transmutation arcanum was not given to her. In fact, Dan Heng is still considered the high elder by Huaiyan and he thinks of Bailu as a joke. You can look at Lalody's bloomborn scion video if there's still more questions.

Why it's called "reincarnation" as if one Imbibitor Lunae will always rebirth into another Imbibitor Lunae? If Imbibitor Lunae got their draconic features and power since they were in egg, then Dan Feng's identity crisis in wanting to give back his face to the primordial/original/first high elder doesn't make sense. Someone can only lament something if they once have it, then lost it. He can only lament the way his face is the same like every Imbibitor Lunae preceding him if he has a different appearance before the High Elder succession. So for now, I see High Elder as like a host of a divine power and the keeper of the art to turn into a dragon. 90th reincarnation is like the 90th chosen Viyadhara to be Imbibitor Lunae, the successor of Azure Dragon.

8:26 as someone who is of chinese descent and speaks chinese, i’m sorry WHERE does it say ANYWHERE that starfall reverie was designed for dan feng/in his image. he already has cloud piercer with 丹 etched on it. and considering the cloud knights ALSO use a guandao, and jing yuan is a cloud knight, it should be very apparent that this weapon was meant for him?? the little bit about him “grabbing it and never parting with it” in blade’s chara stories is a little insight to his personality and relationship to yingxing (bickering), NOT that he stole it. guan yu was a great tactician and general during the three kingdoms era, so hoyo giving jing yuan this weapon is meant to showcase his similar qualities. has absolutely NOTHING to do with yingxing and dan feng’s relationship. also considering this is a jing yuan video, why are you even bringing that up??? no i don’t care what anyone ships, i am a jing yuan fan first and foremost and i do not want a cool cultural reference to be demeaned like this.
Guan Yu's weapon was named after the azure dragon, the in-game weapon is also named after the poem on the back of the azure dragon's coat, the weapon itself is the colour of the azure dragon, and the craftsman that created it was closest to the azure dragon. It's not definitive by any means, but I think any reasonable person would find those things beyond mere coincidence.

@@LalodysLore yingxing made a weapon for everyone in hcq. shard sword for jingliu, cloud piercer for dan feng, and starfall reverie for jing yuan. unless you're gonna go and say that shard sword was also meant for dan feng too, it should be very clear that yingxing wanted to make weapons for all his friends. the hcq were all close friends with each other, which doesn't negate yx and df being closest. the weapon is mostly gold with blue accents, and jing yuan ALSO has blue accents on his outfit, so the color part isn't even relevant.
The only weapon we know for sure had a targeted recipient is Cloudpiercer. Shard Sword was gifted to the sword champion at the competition, just like the sword mentioned in 2.4, and that happened to be Jingliu. Starfall Reverie is unknown, as is the bow and every other weapon he crafted. Though tbh if I had to guess about the bow, considering Yingxing struggled to give her even a flask I doubt he personally gifted her a bow. I think it is merely natural that the best warriors ended up with the best weapons, but I think it's very presumptuous to say they were all crafted specifically for their recipients. Pretty sure Teng Xiao died in the battle against Shuhu. Also pretty sure that Xueyi's character story describes the battle against Shuhu, not Rahu devouring the Cangcheng.
Hanya's story shows the same scene including Teng Xiao's arrival and specifies that it's at Cangcheng. Each twin is shown a slightly different illusion, tho. Xueyi's story is also before she became a puppet - her body was burned and she was transferred to a puppet body to repent for her crimes (when she was controlled by Shuhu on Cangcheng), and Hanya joined her.

So apparently Dan heng previous incarnation (danfeng) chose bailu herself, Dan feng incorporated other races into the flesh of a dragon, it created a dragon while also creating a “new life” and bailu is supposedly the key to the transmutation arcanum implying she’s a product made from the transmutation arcanum and the only instance we know the transmutation arcanum being used is the draconic abomination which also supposedly created a new “life” on top of creating the abomination, which hints to be bailu
That’s just the hint from dan heng companion quest alone, there’s other things like, her hair and eye color, her name being similar, dreams being a vidyadhara past life and her dreams being supposedly traveling (baiheng flies a lot as she’s a pilot and all), her only starting to dream when she went into the express (baiheng is a nameless and baiheng as a nameless would have heard a lot about the astral express, which could be the trigger for the dreams) another proof would be

I was wondering if you could do a video detailing Baiheng’s impact and relationship with the high cloud quintette. A big ask considering how little there is on her but I like to believe that she had a healthy connection to them all. I call it “Baiheng’s Harem” though I’m certain she seemed more motherly in regard to the group itself. XD
Not really enough info for a whole video but:
Jingliu - very close. Jingliu implies Baiheng was her reason for enjoying life and fearing loss. Often drank together in Starskiffs, and Jingliu's whole motif of cutting down stars from the sky is from a promise made to her. Her phone case is about her and she's the only one with a voice line about her. Very distraught over her death.
Yingxing - close friend, likely second closest person to him after Dan Feng based on the bosom friend description. She encouraged him to not feel disadvantaged for being a short life species when he was a kid. Him forgetting to disable the flint emperor also directly led to her mind being invaded by the Flint Emperor and likely possessed by a heliobi, leading to her self sacrifice in the sedition.
Dan Feng - didn't seem as close. She was a normal friend, but a novelty in a world that treated him differently. Dan Heng retains very little information about her.
Jing Yuan - not much information. Described as a mutual friend of Jingliu's (but not DF's and YX's?).
