the universe created not with a big bang but because xiangling felt like it, she is infact a 10th dimensional god who wanting experience a simpler life created the entirety of honkai verse, she is the one who made all the aeons and all the worlds, every world we visit in HSR is just a world xiangling created and she made new ones every so often creating human life and granting them culture and civilisation, in the end she settled for a quite disconected world known as teyvat where she lives out her dreams of being a humble chef in a bustling town, going on silly little adventures to collect ingredients for her dishes
Anton, Jing Yuan, Cyno Every character is lightning damage dealer, and all of 3 of them are mid But in all honesty, at least Anton is much better given the game
idk, cyno is actually good now after furinas release if you have his best team unlike jing yuan. there are few units that can cover jing yuans flaws but cynos team of furina/nahida/baizhu is actually one of the highest dmg dealing teams in the game cause it utilizes cyno and his signature SOSS to his maximum potential.
leaks i believe that with the introduction of sunday based on current leaks, that jing yuan may get buffed, as sunday (currently) can advance forward summons
If LL had 100% action advance at 10 stacks it would be really good and he would still be pretty balanced at lower strength level. It can be difficult to get 10 stacks but when maximized JIng Yuan can easily surpass 10 stacks and they just get wasted. The lack of action advance means he does not scale well.
@@SolarionEXif it's an advance from ult you can just wait till jy has 10 stacks. Plus if the leaks are correct that he can save unit's overcapped energy jing yuan will be able to chain together ults pretty fast
The fact that because he's an older stacking unit means he doesn't overcap, Blade also suffers from this, makes him feel even more clunky. It's kind of awkward when you have your ult but you're waiting for LL to act for you to use it. I do hope that one day they're willing to go back and tweak his kit so it's not so restrictive.
The two biggest things I feel like would make jingyuan less miserable to play is lighting lord can go If jingyuan is clowd controlled Lighting lord INSTANTLY goes if he reaches 10stacks Like in 3.0 they could bare minimum give those changes to his kit
its weird. erudition is the class used for clearing enemy waves or boss summons but for jing yuan's case, you dont want lightning lord smiting groups of ipc employees as it'll be a while before you get it to do anything again.
Agreed, LL is considered a bounce attack which are best in single target. Just like how Seele is the least Hunt-like of the Hunt Path, Jing Yuan is the least erudition-like of the Erudition Path like you said. And for those two, they’re not the best at either. They can’t function like (or as well as) the rest of their respective cast, but they don’t excel in the other cast either (I’m sure they can 3 star all modes when built to a T but their innate restrictions add more hoops to jump through).
Lightning Lord having a fixed max speed and having no way of self advancing are his biggest issues. This is only exemplified when I played this week’s Divergent Universe with him for fun. The blessings makes Jing Yuan gain full stacks in an instant but the fixed speed makes waiting for LL a goddamn pain, especially when the boss is just a weakness break break away or just a few HP shy from ending a phase to stop an enemy ultimate due to how little you can control its action.
I also wished LL acted independently. So if JY gets CC'd, he will still rain down the pain. But no, LL gets punted back down to the bottom of the turn order and has zero way to get him back up 😕
@@hazardsigns To me this makes sense since Lightning Lord isn't really a separate entity, he controls its movements and therefore its attacks as well. It's not like Numby an entirely separate entity from Topaz
Jing yuan was the reason i started playing the game and the first character i got along with his lc ! i really hope that we have a summon meta so he can rise from the ashes and get the deserved respect hes owed
Yeah for better or worse, the upcoming summon meta will make or break Jing Yuan’s status. If summon supports are conspicuously designed in such a way as to disregard Jing Yuan then it’s joever 😔. But if ANY of them have something about “advancing summons” 👀👀👀…
Its so funny how Jing Yuan get indirectly buff every patches simply because his kit works with every form of buffs but he's so fundamentally flawed that he's barely playable every patch
Jing Yuan's issue, as you touched on already, is a fundamental problem with the L-lord himself. He doesn't act as fast or as often as he needs too. Its easy to get 10 stacks these days. But then you're just waiting for L-lord to strike. In order for Jing Yuan to be relevant again, they need to either give L-lord even more speed the more stacks he has, or preferably allow L-lord to act immediately upon reaching 10 stacks.
But I think a Unit who can make Summons have Extra Turn is better than AA for him Cuz based on my Experience with him he needs 2 Actions and 1 Ult for 10 stacks to trigger AA BUT, by the time he took 2 actions LL is right behind him potentially wasting AA But when it's Summon Extra Action/Turn, it let's LL Attack More without Resetting Stacks Imagine Chain 10 stack LL What I have in mind is that A unit who can keep LL at 10 stacks while allowing to do dmg more frequently
I genuinly think that version 1.2 was the breaking point of star rail meta and charechter desing, its when the devs went out of the rails and started going crazy with their desing, if jing yuan or blade came out in 1.5 or 1.6 they would have been completly diffrent charechters than their current ones
I doubt that since hsr likes to release more and more OP dps. Even feixiao probably gonna get powercrept sooner or later. Then a new dps powercreep character that powercrept feixiao
@XoloMictlan no, its still the problem Huo Huo Luocha clense need trigger at something (50% or at JY turn) for Clense, Huo Huo need you saving her ult, FX is Veil and Aven is Ressistance. if you not clense it immediately they you will skip LL turn, also even you clense it, if you get something like freeze or Imprision JY still get slow down like every other character . So yeaaaaaa need carefull planing
It's been 4 patches since my JY's LL got cucked by getting CC'd. There's so much sustains that can negate that weakness now, and newer mobs aren't too hard on CC.
Acheron and jingyuan are practically the same Lightning hypercarrys with heavily backloaded damage So it's very simple, acheron not only has a stronger base kit but also characters who can fast forward that backloaded part of her damage, while jingyuan only takes the crumbs of other characters like IL's sparkle or a sustainer that only gives 12% crit rate
Lightning lord and Herta banking hits for the next wave in Pure fiction is a returning bug. It's not an intended mechanic and has once again been removed.
yeah lingsha and topaz's summons are actually seperate beings but lightning lord is essentially just jing yuan himself taking an extra turn. its a non summon type follow up that has its own turn instead of a trigger condition.
its essentially just a follow up (like herta/himeko) with its own turn order rather than an actual seperate being guys I *know* its officially conaidered a summon but cmon
@@fancymustache3793 it is summon tho, bc LL has its own picture in the action order, same as numby If LL is the typical FUA action then it should have appeared as jingyuan in the action order, just like herta/himeko/jade/feixiao Concept wise ofc its just jy's extra turn, same as other FUA units
I hate that whenever they release supports for old characters to revive and make them updated to new contents (Sparkle, BS, Jiaoqiu), HSR always almost immediately powercreep them with new characters that need way less investment
The more we learn about Jing Yuan's 'no rush in anything' life style the more his playstyle looks on brand. I'm convinced at this point that Hoyo didn't make him slow, but gave him a kit and he chose to just take his dear sweet time with it, lol.
Since the banana set buffs summoner units, it's safe to assume that in the future, we will get more summoners and support for summoners. If any of those summoner supports happen to turn advance summons, then Jing Yuan will finally lose "Mid Yuan" title.
8:18 he's not most buffed in terms of lowest to higher power-level change, he's most buffed in terms of how many things have been added to the game that directly benefit him. Luocha and Fu Xuan (for cleansing/CC immunity + SP generation) > Topaz > FuA Relic Set > Huohuo > Pure Fiction > Sparkle > Robin > Summon Planar Set. He's consistently had one of the best Erudition Light Cones at least though.
If Hoyo was willing to actually make changes to characters rather than just trying to patch them up with new teammates, relics, and lightcones, Jing Yuan would be S-tier in no time and way more people would pull on his reruns.
Money, money, money. And they’ve gone all in on the “IDGAF” with their blatant FOMO business practice. The game has always been this way, but statistically speaking with each patch, the player count and number of jades/pulls drop, resulting in a lower profit margins than before. So, Hoyo got even bolder with their FOMO bussiness model, evidently by the recent abuse of it. Funnily enough, this wouldn’t fly in the PC/console gaming world-it would cause meltdowns and huge drama-but for mobile games, it’s fine. Why? Because everyone else is doing it too, especially since most games on the App Store and Play Store are run by Chinese companies, and that’s their main and proven model that works. The majority of appstore/playstore are dominated by Chinese companies and publishers, so subsequently they all have the exact same bussiness scheme in all of their games. While mobile gamers see this everywhere, and with no one calling it out, they develop a herd mentality or a majority bias. To them, it’s normal, encouraged even, justified by “as long as we can play for free”,-while unknowingly spending more money each year on things like battle pass and supply pass than they would’ve on AAA games or even high-end indie titles.
@@mediumsurmoon6283 Very well explained, though I don't think all the games are the same. For example, their own Genshin adds a lot of value to the characters. It's fine when you spend money on a character that you enjoy for years. But HSR was built differently, I sometimes wonder if they made the game solely to pump out as much money as possible.
@@jinx3709 yes HSR is really money orienteed game, at least need you keep up with the Meta or Pull an E2 SS1 character to tandem with all content at least one year. with how bad old character especially like JY Blade and how they dont really wanna rebalance it.
This is the biggest reason why I stop playing the game. When they releases 4* who can ignore toughness I feel uncomfortable. and then I uninstall the game when they released acheron who broke the game even further. That is game breaking mechanics, what is the purpose of toughness when you can ignore it. It just doesn't feel right.
another big problem with jing yuan is he is an old unit, if hoyo is going for summon meta in the future, you can bet they will also release a unit that is basically a better jing yuan.
Jing Yuan is a very difficult unit to buff without buffing his base kit. His problem was never necessarily he didn’t have enough damage, but rather that the damage he did have was too slow to take advantage of. And the ways to alleviate this might work for other summoning characters, but wouldn’t actually fix his core issue. If you make Jing Yuan faster, you still have to wait for the Lightning Lord to attack. If a unit, artifact set, or some other buff increased the speed or action advanced the Lightning Lord, you still need Jing Yuan to move first twice before the Lightning Lord attacked to get any meaningful damage out of it. What makes this fact worse is that the speed of combat is steadily increasing over time. Both enemy units are getting faster and our units are getting more tools for becoming faster. This is especially true in end game modes where it’s expected for you to obtain many different kinds of buffs to take on these challenges. Buffs that often Jing Yuan cannot use to their fullest because of Lightning Lord not taking these buffs extremely well if at all. One idea I had is a planar ornament set that affects a summon and the wearer. One example: when the wearer attacks an enemy, their summon gets action advanced by x%. If the wearer’s summon attacks an enemy, the wearer receives x amount of energy per enemy attacked (or per hit that lands). For Jing Yuan, he increase the frequency of his most powerful attacks while also receiving more ults to then empower his most powerful attacks more consistently. Depending on the numbers given, this set may actually allow him to use a skill into an ultimate before his Lightning Lord attacks almost every time. This would make it so that any unit that is a damage oriented summoner can feasibly use this set to great effect while also letting Jing Yuan keep up with other units in a big way.
11:00 Apparently it was a "bug" that has been in the game since 1.0. It was extremely rare, so most people didn't notice it until now. They completely removed this feature recently. Jingyuan & Topaz can no longer spill overflow damage into the next wave. This is not a buff, but a nerf.
The best buff for him would be a support who can give a base speed boost for summons, like Jade or March Hunt but for LL. Because advancing LL directly will be a double edged swords indeed. And this base speed boost should last for a few turns of summons or can be like a special buff round like FF and Robin where after buffing round was activated, all things in Action Bar has increased speed including summons. Probably like semi permanent Asta Ult speed boost.
despite his clunkiness, he’s been my main since his first banner and I didn’t even intend for it to turn out that way haha. i love using him every chance and i don’t struggle clearing content with him. he’s one of my favourite characters, waifu over meta everyday baby
I think they can make it so he's more consistent - 100% lightning lord advance at 10, doesn't erase if crowd controlled - or raise his damage cap by letting the stacks overflow to like 15 or 20 the same way Feixao and Aventurine can overstack. This would at least make him much better in SU and DU because Brain in a Vat charges would actually mean something
Personally i would just rework his LL to have just 7 stacks but when he reach it LL attack immediately (or just make his skill advance it 25% and ult by 50%) and changed his a4 to "Buffs on JY last 1 turn longer" like how FF e2 used to work in beta
The irony in him getting buffed every other patch is that the buffs are "sizable" yet do almost nothing to improve him overall. --Fu Xuan released and it helped not "fix" his CC issue as she can only block CC once for the whole party, come later and now there are enemies who can AoE CC paired with each other in every piece of endgame content. --Duke released and it was a straight upgrade, but the only attack he has to make good use of the Atk buff is LL and he can also only get the buff from LL. --Houhou released and she cleanses CC on turn and gives Energy but it doesn't count for LL turn, so he can get CC'd right before LL turn, she also lacks the crit rate that Fu Xuan gives which is more valuable. --Sparkle released and while she is one of his best teammates, the difference between her and Ruan Mei was not much at all. --BananAmusement Park releases and while it looks insane for him, if he's ran with Sparkle it gets so diluted that it's hardly even an improvement. Every single buff he receives is still held back by something else, Sparkle holds back Banana, LL holds back Duke, CC holds back LL, Fu Xuan/Houhou are held back by RNG/match up. The only thing that has stayed relevantly good for him is that Tingyun is OP in general lol
I would probably say CC is detrimental to him since it will cause the thunder lord to skip it’s turn, but CC kinda counters every dps unless you build 100% effect res The main problem for jingyuan is that The thunder lord is way too slow and uncontrollable, it hits like a truck, but it can only move at a fixed speed at maximum 10 stacks, you cannot use sparkle, bronya on the lightning lord and it doesn’t have any self turn advancement like numby (also numby can attack even when topaz is cc’ed, one more point for the pig)
Unc needs a rework. His stacks need to be faster either it scales with the amount of enemies on field or the team can give him stacks (like feixiao) and every time lightning lord has 10 stacks it advances itself forward to not waste future stacks and lose a potential cycle for being too slow.
yes, the problem is the LL not the How Slow JY is, with Sparkle using DDD + Eagle Set you can respectly get 10 stack so quick even more faster with Tingyun too. but the LL is so lame that i better run Serval with ER rope in PF and still attain those 40k score every time Lightning Weakness Recomend. yes its need crack stat but im using 2 set 2 set anyways and its still funny that 1.0 Serval with ER still able too eepup like Herta or Himeko in PF.
I keep saying this everywhere, but HSR needs a Strengthening Quest system like FGO where they release quests for (usually) older characters that buff 1 skill in their kit and not just raw stats. For instance if we were to give JY a SQ he could get something like "at 10 stacks LL get's 100% action advance" and it would be a direct strong buff without touching any numbers. Blade could get something like "when launching attack gains 1 stack of talent" on top of the 1 stack he gets from losing HP, effectively doubling the stacks he gets on his own turn, it would also mean you get 3 stacks with Jade and can do Ult > Basic > FuA in a single instance. Stuff like that, buffs that are interesting rather than just "increase number big damage"
Herta: Emanator of Erudition Phantylia: Emanator of Destruction Acheron: Emanator of Nihility Feixiao: Emanator of Hunt Jing Yuan: Emanator of Buffs (But did it work? ehh....)
The only buff he really needs is like an edit to his passive saying something to the effect of "Gain one stack when X thing happens" and "Lightning lord takes action immediately upon reaching 10 stacks" Like just make Lightning lord an instant attack when fully stacked and he would go up in usage a lot
My favorite part about using Jing Yuan is that everyone is so fast in Divergent Universe (Difficulty V+++) that Lightning Lord just kinda sits at the very bottom of the action order permanently, and I never miss to think "man I wish excess ult or skills that don't add stacks could speed up Lightning Lord instead". Still gonna continue to use him, or else I'm not a real fan
The problem is that no matter how much damage he'll get froom these buffs it doesn't change how often he'll output damage which is why his savior will be a bronya for summons
you can love a character and still admit when they're wrong. i love jing yuan but i can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) and i can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he has never done anything wrong in his life) and call him out on his actions (which are always right)
@@pianopaeonia the freeze reaction and cryo as a whole fell off because most enemies are now immune to freeze, characters like ganyu are still useable now in melt teams. but ayaka is different her entire playstyle and kit depended on freeze as a reaction so now shes basically mid in every abyss which has atleast 1 non freezable enemy.
@@pianopaeoniacryo in general is not very strong in Genshin nowadays. Abyss always has bosses and mobs with immunity to freeze, melt teams aren't consistent either.
@@pianopaeonia its not lore wise dont worry but tldr, freeze just fell off so much ayaka cant keep up. her dmg is still insane yes, (she is my first limited and still use her) but fighting a boss that cant be freeze really hurts. ivars also made a vid about her recently and when i saw the title, i was like D:. for me a way she can be buff is like when ur team/combat scenario allows u to trigger freeze, ur team can apply a debuff, this debuff will reduce the enemy resistance to freeze. the more em u build on ur characters, the more potent the debuff and its effect hit rate. cryo characters will get a 100% em conversion to the debuff potency, hydro 65% and other elements 45%. so em can be a niche use on the anemo and hydro characters but em stats isnt wasted on cryo characters, the debuff is stackable
Wouldn't even consider him ayaka given the fact Hoyo forced cryo out of the meta because ganyu and ayaka were dominating the abyss. Jingyuan was never crazy broken at the start and never really dominated moc unlike ayaka.
I think if we get a set or unit that pushes forward summons then that would make him meta. After all, Lightning Lord hits like a truck, the problem is that it takes too long. So if we could get a way to stack and advance him faster then that'd make Jing Yuan more viable. Like a Bronya for summons or a set that speeds up summons the more stacks they have. I don't know how Lingsha works but it wouldn't make a big difference for Topaz since she just needs 2 follow-ups for a Nunby turn
I hope that some day they go back and update old dps to match current ones in QoL. Like giving older units with stacks (JY, Himeko, etc) the ability to overcap stacks like modern units (Jade, March, etc). Since they haven't done anything like that so far I don't think it's likely, but maybe in a major or anniversary patch. I don't think it's a limitation they intended, since even free 4* nowadays can overcap, I think it's just something they realised was annoying and avoided in newer units but never went back and fixed in older ones. I don't know if this will fix JY, probably nothing short of being able to immediately action advance Lightning Lord on demand will, but it'll make him feel better to play.
ngl I was thoroughly distracted by the fact that a video about my favorite character has the sound track to one of my favorite Fire Emblem games running in the background. I started playing the game for Jing Yuan, and was so happy I could pick him up on his rerun as that's about when I started playing the game and have happily mained him since. Those aside, the comment section has already thoroughly stated my issues when playing him.
i think jing yuan is doing fine. he's my fave character so i use him all the time. his best team with robin can usually 3-4 cycle moc but it's not as comfortable to play as other teams (and on top of being comfortable those other teams 0 and 1 cycle with ease) and jing yuan's robin team requires more thought than some of the braindead meta teams. he's good but they've made 2.0 characters miles ahead in convenience and screenshot numbers so i get why if you're not dedicated to his anime improvement arc you would drop him for other characters. hehe nawt me though i will pull every marginal jing yuan improvement till the end of time
He's also one of the older units that can actually get hurt when the game mode buff is turn advancing because it can knock back the Lightning Lord's place in line and waste stack buildup if it's already at 10. Clara can also get hurt but getting turn advanced if she has ult charges up, bc they can expire if she takes to many actions before they proc.
If only I could trade my Jing Yuan with some Stellar Jades... I'd do it in an instant! Even if the amount I could trade is just ½ or ¼ of the amount of my total Warps for him! Anyway, this L-General really needs: 1. Advanced Forward [50%/100%] for L-lord when it gets [8/10] stacks. 2. To change L-lord's attack from a Blast Attack into a Single Atk or even make it completely AOE.
With the new banana set it could be pointing towards a summon team comp/meta. If he got a harmony support that was like robin but for summons that'd be a massive buff for the archtype especially with it being so underdeveloped compared to break and fua who have been feasting in 2.x
some people in the comments have mentioned rumors of sunday being a summon support, but i haven’t seen any leaks or mentions of this anywhere else so take it with a few piles of salt.
I remember not pulling on Jing Yuan's banner out of pure spite because people were telling me he's more superior than Himeko. Fast forward a year later and Himeko has aged the most gracefully and Jing Yuan stagnated.
I don't remember anyone specifically saying _Jing Yuan was_ better than Himeko; rather, it was said every other 5* dps was better than Himeko. Today Himeko is superior to JY in Pure Fiction, but I'm glad I pulled JY in 1.0. I still play him and while he's not the 'best' in any game mode, he's 'good enough' in _every_ endgame contents - MoC12, PF, AS. I use him everywhere as long as there's lightening weak enemies.
Lightning lord is just too slow too keep up. Even when you fill up the stacks the lightning summon doesn't instantly act. The way his summon works makes him left out as a competitive character.
At the end of the day the initial kit needs to be somewhat front loaded to stay ahead of the curve. I'd argue that Seele had a better kit to begin with and the addition of newer units like Sparkle has only improved her longevity.
Acheron has backloaded dmg I think the Problem is for 1 the dmg numbers 2nd how often can you deal that backloaded dmg. Because LL is so slow you can only once Attack with him in a cycle while his dmg numbers are super low. Acheron deals more dmg, can break even enemys without electro weakness and she can deal that dmg more then once as long as you can Apply enough debuffs
His BiS team is Robin and TY/Sparkle with Aventurine/HH as a sustain, heck even Gallaher is better than FX with the amount of fire weak enemies. He clears MoC in 2-3 cycles against Kafka who's lightning res. Ppl just keep repeating same old story and being stuck at 1.6 patch or something. Heck with powercreep that's been going on the fact that JY is still holding and clears everything albeit not as fast as newer units just says how much powerful he has become since 1.0. I'd argue that JY is better in MoC and AS than PF. I think that as times goes on it will be harder and harder for our general bc it's a gatcha game. The pinnacle of his performance will be when they release a char who advances forward summons, and that's it I think. Idk JY growth will depend on his supports as any dps in the game really.
As an old Jy main(well i still use him on moc 8,9 and AS 3) i agree with ur points when Jy released i like his playstyle u use Jy to weaken the boss and clear the mobs and LL is ur nuke for the boss but what happen is LL wait up take too long to matter essentially making him useless while JY himself cant do his job which is to clear up the mobs before LL strike without ult that made it awkward specially when u have ur ult up but ur also have 10 stack and the boss summon mobs(that why u dont ult until the boss take turn and summon his mobs) so ur essentially have a lose lose situation use ult to clear mobs means ur next 10 take will be doom wait for LL mean his dmg will drop thx for having more targets anyway for rework i will say an insta LL turn when 10 stack is better than LL having AV reason is simple LL will take the turn too early for JY to take his turn to stack and clear the mobs i know u can sparkle it but i doubt sparkle can over take a LL with 25% AV everytime JY take turn specially when each turn give LL spd even if we take it out im sure sparkle will be over taken before LL can 10 stack but that's my opinion
As for me, I want to get Jing Yuan because his Japanese VA is the same guy who voiced Jotaro in JJBA and he has a gigantic Stand (Lightning Lord)... *Yup, I'm a Jojo fan
Honestly, there are a few characters that could use a direct buff to rework the character. Jing Yuan, Bailu, and Yanqing. Not that they will ever do it, but Jing could probably use the 1 stack when another follow up is performed to speed up the general (since the speed increases a good amount with each stack). Bailu could use a cleanse with her skill to make it close to Luocha. And Yanqing... Probably could use the Crit Rate from his ult having a higher uptime. I get his lightcone technically extends his crit rate buff an extra turn or something, but having inconsistent Crit Rates, a Lightcone that requires you to miss a Crit to proc, and also needing to stop him from taking health damage is too much. One of these needs to change, and I think making him crit more consistently would let him maintain his identity while also being more manageable.
My hope lies in a support able to action advance both JY and LL so you can get faster stacks AND LL hits. He’s one of my favorite characters so I’ll keep playing him either way but that would actually make him great
If we get a character that can advance summons, he might get a lot better. I summoned for him and i really wanted to like him. The General is really cool IMO. But as a unit his kit is internally anti-synergistic (slow summon that has to wait an entire other turn if CC'd) and he's lacking in synergy with other units. His team is busy pulling him out of the abyss that is his kit, while other DPS have teams that elevate them to new heights. He's the one unit I wish I'd skipped.
As a Jing Yuan stan, I do have to say that he has improved a metric TON from his base form. I think robin and sparkle are the 2 biggest jumps in power for jing yuan followed by the FuA artifact set. Before Robin I was out here barely getting 5 cycles in MoC, now I do it in 2 cycles against kafka with 40% lightning resist. If I had E1 robin I think I could probably do a 1 cycle which in my opinion does make him relevant today with massive investment similar to Seele. He's like a big ol panda, you give him enough care he grows beautifully. Only thing he truly sucks in is Apoc, you just need robin and sparkle otherwise LL goes from 600k all the way down to like 200k, so RM is not an option unless your going sustainless.

Jing Yuan has been called underwhelming since he came out, but honestly I never really noticed. As someone who hates grinding for the perfect relics with a passion and usually quits when a character is functional (has the right main stats on the right set, conditional buffs are active) JY has been a boon to my account since the early days. He does quite a bit of damage even at mid to low investment, functions fine in both AoE and ST situations, deals a lot of toughness damage and is very, very consistent in comparison to the other DPS units I have -- Seele needs to get kills which is hard to guarantee if you don't have a good crit build, QQ has the RNG mechanic, DHIL without Sparkle needs a lot of sp management, etc, etc... At the start I paired him with Seele for a decent all-purpose dual dps team, then ran him with Ruan Mei, Blade and Bailu for a long time as my standard comfort pick, eventually switching out Bailu for Luocha and RM for Robin when I got them. Sure, it's not the absolute best FUA team, but it clears content, has no complicated speed tuning involved and I don't have to worry about anyone dying. (In contrast to the Seele semi-mono quantum team I built because people said it was good... and then absolutely HATED using.) So it honestly boggles my mind a little bit every time people call units like JY and Blade bad, lol. Maybe by the metric of 'damage ceiling at high levels of investment', but like. Eh??
How to fix LL: 1. Attack regardless user's condition. 2. Attack when stack reaches 10. 3. Every enemy presents in the field gets hit based on stacks level, not getting divided.
Personally I’ve always been off the option that after a couple reruns older characters should be revamped to protect them from power creep and to drum up more popularity for them. That or very simply start releasing more 4 star characters that way we can have more middle of the pack characters and the 5 stars to be more godly powerful, like jing yuan is supposed to be like an eminator of the hunt he should be strength wise on par with feixiao and acheron (technically also herta which we will be getting soon but right now we just have her puppet so makes sense it’s weaker) but bro does not hold a candle to them
i think aventurine is a better sustainer for jing yuan. his shield's offer 50% cc resistance, its a better option than a single instance of cc immunity of fuxuan and that cc resistance can be added when the relics have effect res on them which i think a lot of players have them on their sets😂
with jing yuan's current position, i think he needs an actual rework to be good. potential changes: - make lightning lord instantly activate if it hits 10 stacks - increase lightning lord's base speed OR give it action advance whenever it gains stacks / allies do follow-ups - remove the CC/lost turn interaction -- it absolutely destroys jy's relevance and i've been in boss fights (like cocolia) where by pure circumstance of turn order he gets frozen for 3-4 turns consecutively and contributes nothing (even through LL) to the entire fight - (probably something coming down the pipe dev wise) let some buffs hit LL rather than it just keying off JY's buffs. That way its weird turn order doesn't hurt as much when you're doing your buff rotations like yanqing, it would take a real overhaul to make him competitive with other 5 star damage dealers
In a bit over a year Jing Yuan was the only character I lost the 50/50 - ironically to Himeko. And I'd say this was probably the best outcome for me, since I never really felt that he would fill a role that would actually require him to be used. I feel like pretty much all early limited 5 stars have gotten somewhat obsolete, since they feel like they only fit into one specific team comp, whereas other general concepts like actual FuA or break have multiple comps that enable their playstyle equally. Newer hypercarry units like Firefly, Boothill and Acheron wouldn't even be nearly as good if they didn't ignore weakness types in one way or another, so you can often just throw them into your team if you have a flex slot left.
I wouldnt say he's struggling though since he has always been a meta tier character (maybe not Tier 0 but still in the meta). I still use him and he has always been very fun to use!
Tldr : Jing Yuan needs a rework; not just because he has been powercrept, but because he is fundamentally 'broken' as a (summoner) character. Jing Yuan, unlike newer summoners like topaz or lingsha, cannot aa ll OR even attack with ll when cc-ed. This makes jy unable to even use hs ll to his full potential most of the time, especially since jy is a ramp up character, which goes against the idea of speed in all if hsr's endgame. Why cant he become meta again with 'buffs'? Jy is just not good enough. It is NOT reliable for him to get ll to 10 stacks, and he cant synergise with other fua. In the end, despite however hard you try to get 10 ll stacks, you will eventually be cc-ed, so Jing yuan basically is unable to become good due to his playstyle, So.... *Cries in jy main*
I'm really genuinely hoping that once the summon meta comes in and we get more artifacts that work with it, Jing Yuan will skyrocket in value. He never really had his time to shine and i want a return on my investment. ALSO I know it probably won't happen but i really hope 5 star Tingyun buffs him even better than sparkle did.
I personally think that Jing Yuan will only get better, at least for the foreseeable future. And I honestly think it's a little short-sighted to not see more impactful buffs and support characters, that will benefit him, coming in the future. He's not a character that I have and he's not even a big favourite of mine, so I don't think this is my bias talking. But since the new summon set is only realistically beneficial for him at the moment, and the rumours of the upcoming 'summon meta', his resurgence seems likely. Logically, if there is going to be a support character for summons, one that action advances the summoned unit seems super likely, since that is explicitly something that characters like Robin and Bronya can't do. If this happens, this should fix his biggest weakness as a character. Obviously, he's a 1.0 character, so I don't expect he'll ever be top meta, but I think a big buff in the form of a summon support is highly likely. And while he would still have the problem of being CC'ed, this is something that most characters struggle with and can be mitigated by most meta sustains.
Honestly i think one day they say are just going to buff him like they did zhongli. Cause this is going to be a reoccuring character whenever we have the xianzhou, hes kind of an emanator, and most importantly, hes related to china, therefore cn loves this guy.
I don`t really know about the fandom, yet from what I know less than 50% of the playerbase has JY, while over 70% of the players have Acheron, therefore she should be more popular than him. I believe he might have been referring to popularity from this stand point. From my point of view as well, when it comes to limited 5 star units, character ownership speaks more in terms of popularity than a poll, because the ownership shows the point of view of the entire community, while a poll shows only the opinions of those who voted.
All he needs it a harmony support that advances summons. His no sustain team would probably become one of the strongest teams in the game. And his team with a sustain would become very competitive, not as great as the big three but I can see him matching ratio and yunli

i believe that with the introduction of sunday based on current leaks, that jing yuan may get buffed, as sunday (currently) can advance forward summons
@@rts2006s leaks
bro if sunday can advance forawd summons , jing yuan gonna have his "I am always 2 steps ahead moment"
If lightning lord had AA like numby and not just from ult he'd be pretty good
If LL had 100% action advance at 10 stacks it would be really good and he would still be pretty balanced at lower strength level. It can be difficult to get 10 stacks but when maximized JIng Yuan can easily surpass 10 stacks and they just get wasted. The lack of action advance means he does not scale well.
@@AzureDrag0n1 Wait for Sunday who is a summons support.
That wasn't confirmed... at all.@@andrinaleong4079
Imagine Sunday advancing LL with 5 stacks lmao
@@SolarionEXif it's an advance from ult you can just wait till jy has 10 stacks. Plus if the leaks are correct that he can save unit's overcapped energy jing yuan will be able to chain together ults pretty fast
The fact that because he's an older stacking unit means he doesn't overcap, Blade also suffers from this, makes him feel even more clunky. It's kind of awkward when you have your ult but you're waiting for LL to act for you to use it. I do hope that one day they're willing to go back and tweak his kit so it's not so restrictive.
The two biggest things I feel like would make jingyuan less miserable to play is
lighting lord can go If jingyuan is clowd controlled
Lighting lord INSTANTLY goes if he reaches 10stacks
Like in 3.0 they could bare minimum give those changes to his kit

because hes erudition, but he SUCKS at actually being erudition because of how lightning lord works. if LL was more frequent he'd be way better.
its weird. erudition is the class used for clearing enemy waves or boss summons but for jing yuan's case, you dont want lightning lord smiting groups of ipc employees as it'll be a while before you get it to do anything again.

Well this problem just got fixed
@chrips154 you don’t have to tell me twice, I’m a leaks reader as well
Jing yuan was the reason i started playing the game and the first character i got along with his lc ! i really hope that we have a summon meta so he can rise from the ashes and get the deserved respect hes owed
well..... guess who's coming next, as well as whatever 3.0 onwards happens...
summon meta might happen seeing the new planar set they added
Yeah for better or worse, the upcoming summon meta will make or break Jing Yuan’s status.
If summon supports are conspicuously designed in such a way as to disregard Jing Yuan then it’s joever 😔.
But if ANY of them have something about “advancing summons” 👀👀👀…
we got a glimpse of it via the new planar set that boosts crit damage of summoned units
Leaks suggest that to be the case, meaning Topaz is still alongside Kafka in "not being able to be power crept"
Wait for Sunday who is a summons support. Maybe he can advance summons.
L-lord 💀😭so true
But I think a Unit who can make Summons have Extra Turn is better than AA for him
Cuz based on my Experience with him he needs 2 Actions and 1 Ult for 10 stacks to trigger AA
BUT, by the time he took 2 actions LL is right behind him potentially wasting AA
But when it's Summon Extra Action/Turn, it let's LL Attack More without Resetting Stacks
Imagine Chain 10 stack LL
What I have in mind is that A unit who can keep LL at 10 stacks while allowing to do dmg more frequently
Sunday entered the chat
I genuinly think that version 1.2 was the breaking point of star rail meta and charechter desing, its when the devs went out of the rails and started going crazy with their desing, if jing yuan or blade came out in 1.5 or 1.6 they would have been completly diffrent charechters than their current ones
If Jing Yuan came right here in this patch, he would be as crazy and unique
Jing Yuan was my first favorite character in HSR. Now I just have him in the back all built hoping one day he gets the respect he deserves.
I doubt that since hsr likes to release more and more OP dps. Even feixiao probably gonna get powercrept sooner or later. Then a new dps powercreep character that powercrept feixiao
his viability would be much better if lightning lord took action immediately after hitting 10
I think the biggest drawback is that the Lightning Lord skip it's turn if Jing Yuan is hard CC.
Acheron and jingyuan are practically the same
Lightning hypercarrys with heavily backloaded damage
So it's very simple, acheron not only has a stronger base kit but also characters who can fast forward that backloaded part of her damage, while jingyuan only takes the crumbs of other characters like IL's sparkle or a sustainer that only gives 12% crit rate
"Talent: *Summons* Lightning-Lord at the start of the battle"
LL is a summon.
@@SuperShesh2 I think what they are referring to is when the LL takes a turn while Jing Yuan is stunned, LL will not act.
its essentially just a follow up (like herta/himeko) with its own turn order rather than an actual seperate being guys I *know* its officially conaidered a summon but cmon
@@fancymustache3793 it is summon tho, bc LL has its own picture in the action order, same as numby

Concept wise ofc its just jy's extra turn, same as other FUA units
follow-up video for Jing Yuan + Sunday hypercarry when?! :D
Sunday will make Jing Yuan Meta. I have no doubts. And then, I look forward to a possible update video, because this is insane
Sunday took that personally
It's been completely crept by jades lc tho
@@akshayreddy4071 it has not, Jade LC requires you to basic attack, it's not optimal on may characters (including Jing Yuan)

If Hoyo was willing to actually make changes to characters rather than just trying to patch them up with new teammates, relics, and lightcones, Jing Yuan would be S-tier in no time and way more people would pull on his reruns.
let's just say, HSR team doesn't give a sh**. Just introduce powerful characters and call it a day.
And that why I planing to jump off after Amphoreus and the Fate Collab
It just doesn't feel right.
another big problem with jing yuan is he is an old unit, if hoyo is going for summon meta in the future,
you can bet they will also release a unit that is basically a better jing yuan.
It saddens me that because he was released so early, despite being the general of luofu, his dps leaves much more to be desired compared to feixiao😢
His damage isn’t the problem, it’s his LL. Even Himeko who was released before him acts immediate upon reaching max stacks.
I forgot about LL’s speed limit, this speed buff should also be able to bypass this speed limit as well
despite his clunkiness, he’s been my main since his first banner and I didn’t even intend for it to turn out that way haha. i love using him every chance and i don’t struggle clearing content with him. he’s one of my favourite characters, waifu over meta everyday baby
"Waifu"
Sit yo ass in the back of the bus you little zoomer

King yuan aka. Mr potential follow up video perhaps?
I would probably say CC is detrimental to him since it will cause the thunder lord to skip it’s turn, but CC kinda counters every dps unless you build 100% effect res
The main problem for jingyuan is that The thunder lord is way too slow and uncontrollable, it hits like a truck, but it can only move at a fixed speed at maximum 10 stacks, you cannot use sparkle, bronya on the lightning lord and it doesn’t have any self turn advancement like numby (also numby can attack even when topaz is cc’ed, one more point for the pig)
Unc needs a rework. His stacks need to be faster either it scales with the amount of enemies on field or the team can give him stacks (like feixiao) and every time lightning lord has 10 stacks it advances itself forward to not waste future stacks and lose a potential cycle for being too slow.
Stack building is fast if you have fast bronya/sparkle+tungyu/huohuo. It's just LL is to damn slow
yes, the problem is the LL not the How Slow JY is, with Sparkle using DDD + Eagle Set you can respectly get 10 stack so quick even more faster with Tingyun too. but the LL is so lame that i better run Serval with ER rope in PF and still attain those 40k score every time Lightning Weakness Recomend. yes its need crack stat but im using 2 set 2 set anyways and its still funny that 1.0 Serval with ER still able too eepup like Herta or Himeko in PF.
Herta: Emanator of Erudition
Phantylia: Emanator of Destruction
Acheron: Emanator of Nihility
Feixiao: Emanator of Hunt
Jing Yuan: Emanator of Buffs (But did it work? ehh....)

6:39 you definitely had fun having topaz sitting on the lion
The only buff he really needs is like an edit to his passive saying something to the effect of "Gain one stack when X thing happens" and "Lightning lord takes action immediately upon reaching 10 stacks"
Like just make Lightning lord an instant attack when fully stacked and he would go up in usage a lot
2:48 That's my general 💀
My favorite part about using Jing Yuan is that everyone is so fast in Divergent Universe (Difficulty V+++) that Lightning Lord just kinda sits at the very bottom of the action order permanently, and I never miss to think "man I wish excess ult or skills that don't add stacks could speed up Lightning Lord instead". Still gonna continue to use him, or else I'm not a real fan
Imagine being a fan of a pile of shit. 😐
The problem is that no matter how much damage he'll get froom these buffs it doesn't change how often he'll output damage which is why his savior will be a bronya for summons
you can love a character and still admit when they're wrong. i love jing yuan but i can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) and i can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he has never done anything wrong in his life) and call him out on his actions (which are always right)
I totally agree. ❤️

Yesterday I cleared the apocalyptic shadow with Jing Yuan, and was happy of how much he improved since release, and today I wake up to this video lol
it terms of aging people thought he was hu tao, but in reality he was ayaka.
what happened to ayaka? i left after the aranara quest line

I don't know if this will fix JY, probably nothing short of being able to immediately action advance Lightning Lord on demand will, but it'll make him feel better to play.
this video didnt aged well after Sunday kit
Just one thing, Robin was also an upgrade for JY and people play her with him over Sparkle
Sunday rumored kit will help Lightning Lord be great AGAIN...I hope
ngl I was thoroughly distracted by the fact that a video about my favorite character has the sound track to one of my favorite Fire Emblem games running in the background. I started playing the game for Jing Yuan, and was so happy I could pick him up on his rerun as that's about when I started playing the game and have happily mained him since. Those aside, the comment section has already thoroughly stated my issues when playing him.
i think jing yuan is doing fine. he's my fave character so i use him all the time. his best team with robin can usually 3-4 cycle moc but it's not as comfortable to play as other teams (and on top of being comfortable those other teams 0 and 1 cycle with ease) and jing yuan's robin team requires more thought than some of the braindead meta teams. he's good but they've made 2.0 characters miles ahead in convenience and screenshot numbers so i get why if you're not dedicated to his anime improvement arc you would drop him for other characters.
hehe nawt me though i will pull every marginal jing yuan improvement till the end of time
His buff should be on his LL, either make him immune to debuff at certain stack or just simply immediate release LL after 10 stacks
Anyway, this L-General really needs:
1. Advanced Forward [50%/100%] for L-lord when it gets [8/10] stacks.
2. To change L-lord's attack from a Blast Attack into a Single Atk or even make it completely AOE.
U forgot topaz, 8:56 she was a massive buff for him and massively increased his preformance
No, she didn't. His damage is still limited to a 160 speed Lightning Lord. Stop capping
2:48 Peak Lightning Lord gameplay
I remember not pulling on Jing Yuan's banner out of pure spite because people were telling me he's more superior than Himeko. Fast forward a year later and Himeko has aged the most gracefully and Jing Yuan stagnated.
I was busy during that time. Glad I didn't pull him or maybe sw😂
His LC is more better than him though .
omg same! I was holding onto my belief in Himeko like Noelle. How can I say no to a SATELLITE CANNON?
I don't remember anyone specifically saying _Jing Yuan was_ better than Himeko; rather, it was said every other 5* dps was better than Himeko. Today Himeko is superior to JY in Pure Fiction, but I'm glad I pulled JY in 1.0. I still play him and while he's not the 'best' in any game mode, he's 'good enough' in _every_ endgame contents - MoC12, PF, AS. I use him everywhere as long as there's lightening weak enemies.
I pulled him because STANDO POWAAAAAH!!!
10:29 That made me laugh so hard looool
They should either made lenny strike on 10 or remove the cap and allow lenny to attack regardless of jy cc state.
Lightning lord is just too slow too keep up.
Even when you fill up the stacks the lightning summon doesn't instantly act.
The way his summon works makes him left out as a competitive character.
I really want a summon meta, but even then my Jing Yuan will still be mid
The only thing that wasn't held back was Jing Yuan’s ultimate animation.
If only we can action advance summons... Also I think his multipliers are really on the lower end as well
At the end of the day the initial kit needs to be somewhat front loaded to stay ahead of the curve.
Action Advance for Lenny allowing him to use 2 times in zero cycle is the name of the game he needs
Alejandro Saab, destined to be the most mid electro dps character across all 3 games in the Hoyoverse.
Imma keep it real, you make some of the worst genshin videos on youtube. All you do is regurgitate the comment section from HSR's subreddit.
6:34: I agree, and they should replace the trace that gives him 15 energy to this: ( Jingyuans basic atk adds 1 stack to LL )
its okay surely they'll release a Harmony character that buffs summons
Sunday perhaps

Eh??
How to fix LL:
That or very simply start releasing more 4 star characters that way we can have more middle of the pack characters and the 5 stars to be more godly powerful, like jing yuan is supposed to be like an eminator of the hunt he should be strength wise on par with feixiao and acheron (technically also herta which we will be getting soon but right now we just have her puppet so makes sense it’s weaker) but bro does not hold a candle to them
i think aventurine is a better sustainer for jing yuan. his shield's offer 50% cc resistance, its a better option than a single instance of cc immunity of fuxuan and that cc resistance can be added when the relics have effect res on them which i think a lot of players have them on their sets😂
with jing yuan's current position, i think he needs an actual rework to be good. potential changes:
- make lightning lord instantly activate if it hits 10 stacks
- increase lightning lord's base speed OR give it action advance whenever it gains stacks / allies do follow-ups
- remove the CC/lost turn interaction -- it absolutely destroys jy's relevance and i've been in boss fights (like cocolia) where by pure circumstance of turn order he gets frozen for 3-4 turns consecutively and contributes nothing (even through LL) to the entire fight
- (probably something coming down the pipe dev wise) let some buffs hit LL rather than it just keying off JY's buffs. That way its weird turn order doesn't hurt as much when you're doing your buff rotations
like yanqing, it would take a real overhaul to make him competitive with other 5 star damage dealers
The moment you realize Fu Xuan and Ruan Mei buffed the entire roster and all the enemies are twice as strong, keeping Jing at the same level of trash.
There is only room for one good Jing is HSR.
In the end, despite however hard you try to get 10 ll stacks, you will eventually be cc-ed, so Jing yuan basically is unable to become good due to his playstyle,
So....
"Jing Yuan is less popular than Acheron in the fandom"
The man was literally voted THE most popular character in the fandom I'm dead
pls this guy knows nothing
I don`t really know about the fandom, yet from what I know less than 50% of the playerbase has JY, while over 70% of the players have Acheron, therefore she should be more popular than him. I believe he might have been referring to popularity from this stand point. From my point of view as well, when it comes to limited 5 star units, character ownership speaks more in terms of popularity than a poll, because the ownership shows the point of view of the entire community, while a poll shows only the opinions of those who voted.
Jing yuan is popular? how?what?when?where?
@@4thLilaC official character poll hoyo held in CN
All he needs it a harmony support that advances summons. His no sustain team would probably become one of the strongest teams in the game. And his team with a sustain would become very competitive, not as great as the big three but I can see him matching ratio and yunli
Finally! A Jing yuan vars video
