Non Sleep Deep Rest Yoga Nidra (NSDR) is a Tool for De-Stress and Relaxation. This non sleep deep rest protocol is a technique recommended by Dr. Andrew Huberman. He talks about the evidence based science that this tool for relaxation & wellness will help de-stress and calm the nervous system. Yoga nidra is an effortless guided meditation which some would even call a sleep meditation that helps you go into the deepest states of rest and calms the mind while putting you into a deep state of relaxation.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that uses a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Dr. Huberman’s research from Stanford shows that this particular NSDR technique calms the nervous system and activate the parasympathetic (relaxation, rest & digest) response.
In this yoga nidra guided meditation to relax you will be guided through a body scan to calm the nervous system, It’s a 13 minute yoga nidra guided relaxation for stress relief. It’s a 10min yoga nidra script lead by Ally Boothroyd of Sarovara Yoga that is perfect for stress management. Lay down, relax, rest and meditate all at the same time!
This 10 minute yoga nidra with natural rain sounds aids in deep relaxation through the effortless guided meditation of nidra (sleep). When listening to the gentle rain sounds, let yourself relax and be guided into a deep state of effortless meditation. This meditation is designed to untangle and reduce stress and anxiety and calm the nerves over time.
This is a yoga nidra style body scan to sooth the nerves. This yog nidra includes a natural white noise sounds to further enhance the state of deep relaxation in the central nervous system. Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation that helps with insomnia, anxiety, stress, adrenal fatigue, ptsd and so much more.

Dear Ally, thank you for this session. I did it today, October 29 at 12.30 pm. I love this short practice. It helps me to regroup and ground in a moment where my mind is busy. The Perfectionist, the Pusher and my Willpower have woken up recently and are trying to take up more space in my daily life to go harder, deeper, faster. I am aware of the way they work. Yoga Nidra training module 1 - Namaste! I did this practice in the middle of the night (when I could not sleep). I stayed awake for the practice but was able to fall asleep right after. Thanks so much!
I haven’t practiced a shorter yoga Nidra in quite a while. Perfect for this morning when time is limited. Always appreciate starting my day from a place of open spaciousness. The breathing practices afforded a sense of flow and light from within. I enjoyed the quiet background as well. Really appreciate your creativity Ally 🙏🏽

I feel completely relaxed and my body feels almost paralyzed in these practices while my mind is completely aware of what if going on. I especially loved the part of breathing through the mind to clear it! The systematic breathing through the body felt like a gentle massage or wave that deeply relaxed me. I feel alert, calm, at peace afterward. This is my 6th going on 7th year practicing Yoga Nidra and it amazes me how with each practice, I feel like I go just a bit deeper and deeper into the yoga nidra state. Thank you.

A lovely short Nidra perfect for me today and everyday. I loved the soothing rain. The volume was perfect. I seemed to just accent your calming voice. The breathing through the chakras from crown to heart and so on, was so powerful for me. I love this!
I’m loving fitting these shorter practices into my daily life, giving me a refresh at different times of day. I did this before cooking for the family. I could also feel my body waking from the nidra when you guided us to move fingers, toes etc which I hadn’t noticed so explicitly before. Namaste.
Namaste! I practiced around 11:15 P.M. on 9/21/2023. This was very deeply relaxing. The polarity breath helped my mind to eventually go silent and become still. I am very grateful for this short practice.
Practicing yoga nidra in my lunch breaks literally changed my life! So often i was eating (more) on autopilot because my body craved more energy - now i do yoga nidra and actually feel more energised💥

17 min ago when started with this practice had a very strong pain in the lower back and the SI joints. After the practice my body and back fascia relaxed so good and the pain is gone 🙏🏼

What a beautiful way to begin my day. I had a moment last night where my mind was racing...I had just done a practice that morning and I recalled it and went through the points of my body...it was exactly what I needed.

I really enjoy the shorter practices when I am having a busier day. It's amazing how quickly I go into deep rest no matter how long or short the practice
I tried this practice on my lunch break and was very surprised how quickly I was able to drop into a deep state of relaxation in such a short amount of time. I loved the sound of raindrops in the background. The sound of water is very healing to me. I also liked the suggestion to breath from the heart to the crown, throat to the crown and third eye to the crown. I also loved the idea of “cleansing the mind” I was able to visualize/sense this happening.
Really felt my propensity to rush in my mind today. Struggling to balance paying focused attention whilst allowing the resting. Very valuable to notice!
Hey Ally! Before work this morning at 11:30, first time beginning the day with your guidance. Then ended this day (9:30pm) with Grounding on Insight timer, logged in but not giving me the ability to leave a comment. Anyway, that one was especially wonderful because I worked on hard garden projects before I settling in. 🧘♀️💕

Ally, this was a beautiful nidra! Loved the idea of imagining trillions of cells breathing in and out together. Was a great way to tap deeper into my physical body and relax the 'monkey mind'.

Michelle Christie - Yoga Nidra YTT. This was my first practise in the course and per your advice I am trying Nidra at a different time of day. I usually practise in the morning or at bedtime but I have sensed for some time that when I finish work or during the middle of the work day would be beneficial. I did this brief practise after work 6.30pm on a Friday after a difficult day and it was very effective. I felt more conscious of the fact that I was observing my response initially but then descended into relaxation. Looking forward to practising in this way in future. 🎉

This was a perfect reset for my morning. I've been using my ear pods and an eye pillow, as well as a blanket, and it helps me really drop in. My body sort of disappears but I'm still fully aware of your voice guiding me. It's the most relaxing practice - thank you!

I noticed I got a bit mixed up with the breathing loop bet the 3rd eye & crown so I hit rewind to listen again to ensure I was doing it correctly. I want to practice this one again. Thank you. :)

Thank you for posting these. I have found them incredibly helpful at calming my body down during a very stressful time in my life. I particularly like the short ones because I can squeeze them into a busy schedule. I've been trying to do a session every day. It puts me in a zen mood before I get into the afternoon crazy.

good morning. Because I'm in the teacher training, I'm trying to go down the list of Yoga N😅idra's to practice for our homework. i've done this one several times and I certainly do love it. I really like the quickness of it for time constraints to just have a little reboot whenever you need one, but I really appreciate the crown chakra and breath through the Mind's eye. My body really loves when I breathe into that area. It truly is bliss for the brain.
I feel great in fact I want to do it again right now. I will leave more insight as I begin to do this practice on consistency. I enjoyed it in so many ways, especially the breathing in through the heart and out through the crown, etc. I also liked both hands, both calves etc. thank you for creating it.
