This album got me through a very tough 2004. There were days that all I had was listening to that album. I was just getting back to a job after my Service in the Navy. I’m grateful to this album’s versatility

To me Radiohead's greatness is linked to their uncompromising artistry, they never settle for success of which of course they had plenty. They are each and every one of them so unbelievably gifted, each single song is a musical adventure and I don't care which album, what style, they always know how to grab me and so all their albums are one great playlist that I have and never tire of and even discover new details each time and this album is maybe a minor one, but a minor Radiohead is still leaps and bounds ahead of its contemporaries in my book.
There's quite a few songs of them that I often think it might have been the Beatles if they stayed together (like the fantastic Daily Mail song), not all of them, but some, funny, maybe nonsense.
Anyway they are surely one of the greatest bands of all time.

It is such a treat to have someone of your caliber take the time to explore Radiohead, my favorite band. It was Pink Floyd, then Stevie Ray Vaughan, then Robert Johnson, then Radiohead came and blew my brains all over the floor with "Ok Computer" in college, and though their mega album I don't thin you have done, Kid A, was too much for me to comprehend when it came out I diverted for a few years, when In Rainbows (you did the live Basement version which is the best version) came out I was reminded how incredible they are and I returned with a vigor and have never looked back, many of their songs and albums take many listens to begin to really take hold of you - that always sounds like an easy excuse for convoluted overstuffed bands, but in this case when you have 3 Apex musical minds - Thom Yorke is IMO an unparalleled songwriter, singer, guitar/piano lead man for Gen X - Johnny Greenwood now has 2 Academy Award nominations for orchestral soundtrack music - he plays a killer Tele lead guitar but also never hurts to have one of Modern Classical music's most esteemed composer to arrange Thom's ideas into direction and compose these layers which sink into your mind and begin to emerge slowly over listens - and their producer since their 2nd album of 9 (he was engineer on that one - John Leckie - Dark Side of the Moon - had Production credit, but by OK Computer Nigel Godrich took over and is the unofficial 6th member working magic as a producer and is again one of the most sought out guys in the industry the last 3 decades but Radiohead is home base - given those minds of such musical next-level capability, they choose these songs which are so challenging to pick up on the first listen - some times it has taken me 5 years later I return and it has clicked - life is short enough without such endeavor for most other than true fanatical fans - but they were transitioning between Amnesiac and Kid A - very experimental and never been anything else made like those works - to "In Rainbows" - ironically their most accessible album debatably (maybe "The Bends" is similarly approachable right away and nearly as impactful if not more for many). Thanks again for taking these guys on, and adding your thoughtful and earnest comments and being very straight forward about what works what you like etc. It is a real treasure/treat to find you doing a Radiohead album or any songs - thanks for this - turned my bad day good. "The Smile" side project is hitting right now and is fantastic.

This is Radioheads post 9/11 anti-war/anti-George Bush/anti-Tony Blair album. (Hail to the Thief is a referance to George Bush stealing the election)
A lot of these songs are hitting home with what is happening in Ukraine right now.
    Probably their most political album.

That's the beauty of Radiohead. Almost everyone has a different opinion of what is their best and worst albums. I feel that this is one of their best albums, alongside In Rainbows, OK Computer and A Moon Shaped Pool. It's funny how if you ask ten people what the best Radiohead album is, there is a high chance that no more than 3 of those people will agree on a single album. The fact that they continue to create masterpieces over the course of 3 decades that are on the same level as each other, which is already a high standard to begin with, is outstanding. Truly one of the greatest bands of all time.

Excellent choice to react to. Great album! And yeah, Hail to the THIEF makes a big difference.... All their albums have surprises on them. Such interesting sounds and ideas. Your observation that Radiohead songs really take you on a trip is pretty astute. I think the band is on a trip from album to album and takes us along with them. They are always stretching themselves to try to keep things interesting, and they are fantastic live! IMO OK Computer and The Bends are genius-level albums.

Why I love Radiohead and feel they are the most important band of the last 50 years….?
They are experimental while staying both relevant and palatable to so so many people. They push the boundaries of music and sound like Pink Floyd did before Radiohead. Radiohead goes further than Pink Floyd because they are not afraid to reinvent themselves from one album to the next, yet always being Radiohead.

One of the most famous hits of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled gorgeous, phenomenal performance by Diana Ankudinova ( 18 y.o.)
Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley / DARK VERSION cover)
Please react to Diana Ankudinova !
Meet the singer with the most unique voice (dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones), reactors call her the goosebump queen. "Together with her tessitura, it identifies her potential voice type as dramatic contralto, the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice." (Wikipedia about Diana)
Full vocal range - 4 octaves.
The number of reactions to Diana exceeded the number of 12 thousand reactions. In my playlist section there are 3 playlists (5k+5k+2k reactions each).
