    Very well executed!
Apart from the infrared connection of the controllers, have you encountered other difficulties and problem from either software, hardware or aesthetic point of view?
The external power supply doesn't look comfortable to wear for extended periods of time

As far as difficulties go, I have to make sure that Steam is already running on my computer, otherwise I can't start the games via the headset. It can be annoying to have to take off the vest, take out the laptop, start Steam, put the laptop back in and put the vest on.
As for the power station, the weight isn't as bothersome as finding a good place for it - I can't attach it to the back because it would press on the laptop and reduce the airflow, it's not comfortable to have it in the front, I find the least uncomfortable spot to be somewhere on the side but even that is not ideal if I try to bring my elbows down. In any case, it's not recommended to use virtual reality for prolonged periods of time, so any minor discomfort from the power station does not last long enough to be bothersome.

This project blew my mind! I will be using this guide to rig my VR for some outdoor activities.
