Thank you VERY MUCH for this! My local dealer wanted to charge me ~ $200 to replace a broken door check and with this detailed video I was able to do it myself in ~20 min at a cost of less than $30 bucks... You are a life saver Sir!
Thank you for the video you just talk the necessary but my question is about the weather strip the one goes against the window. Can you tell me how to replace it? Thanks again.👍
Eric Carrasco I’m glad you found it helpful. I stumbled through the install on my first door because I couldn’t find a good step by step video. That’s why I worked with Acuators Plus to create a comprehensive video. I appreciate the positive feedback. I have several videos for this truck so he sure to subscribe.
@@TightWadDIY Right on just Subd. I recently did a DIY side mirror replacement and watched a simple video and saved big $$. I am going to watch all your vidz bud. THX
Thank you for the video, it's very informative. But I have a problem with my driver side door internal. There is a pull rod inside the door that has a hook, hooking onto the door frame, is broke off the hook, so every time I try to close the door, it is making a very loud noise. How can I replace that rod ? Is it easy to replace? and what is the cost? Or must I bring it to the dealer to have it replaced ? Thanks
I’m really sorry but I don’t know how to replace that part. I would have to take my door panel off to look and I won’t have time to do that any time soon.
@@TightWadDIY In my case it is a 2012 Tundra so the electrical connections were a little different. I was going to replace my speaker because I thought it was blown. I have after market speakers and what I found out was that the rubber weather strip around the speaker had come off and the metal housing of the Speaker was vibrating against the cover, the speaker was fine. I replaced the rubber weather strip and problem solved. Fortunately I was able to return the speakers. I explained just in case someone else might have this issue so they can check that before buying new speakers.
Hey bud I did this same process to fix the door check that had broke. All went well with the fix but now when I lock the truck all the doors lock except for the drivers side. I made sure the connect the cables correctly. Have any idea what might be the issue? Door works and open and closed just fine. Just doesn’t lock and the key won’t turn if I try to lock it manually
I have telescopic tow mirrors on my tundra. I have to pull like a bear to get the passenger one to extend.....the driverside is a no-go. I almost pull the truck over on its side. Do you have any insight on how to free it up? Ive dumped WD-40, and other lubes down insode it afteer taking it off the truck door. Have you ever encountered it?
What year model? Mine is an 07. I just walked out and checked mine since I never really slide them out. The both moved fine with an average tug. Has your truck been in an accident? I could see where a slight twist in the mirror area would cause them to bind since there are two arms that need to be perfectly parallel.
I need to remove mine soon to replace the cover. I’ll make a video. Maybe look for videos showing how to replace the upholstery. They’d also show how to remove the lid.
I’m not positive, but it may be better to just give upward push instead of pulling out because it breaks the pins every time. I took off all four of my panels.
Where the door lock and unlock and window knobs are on the door panel, he never demonstrated how to get that plastic part off of the door panel, in order to disconnect the power cables.

Thank you! My widow and lock control panel had broken free from the door panel/ 3 plastic screw brackets. Epoxi and hot melt glue, done.

Thank you for the education man. My speakers, all on the driver’s side , busted. Including my subwoofer.
Sorry to hear your speakers busted. Let’s be honest, they aren’t that great anyway! Hopefully this helped when accessing them though.
Thank you!

It just pulls out and the new one presses in. I replaced mine a few years ago.
Great video

Help!!, if I closed the door and cannot open from inside or outside....what are my options? 2013 Tundra driver door

Are you sure you lined up the key hole part properly? I did that wrong at first too and it caused problems.

@@TightWadDIY 2011 Tundra crewmax. There is grit inside the arms. No idea how, road shit in the winter I guess.
I have a 2011 Tundra. Do you know how to replace the complete center console lid? All the videos I have seen for this don’t seem to work for my truck.

Can the tan arm rest by the window controllers be removed to get it wrap or painted?
I’m sure it can but I’ve never tried it.
Only had issues if any with the rear door windows coming of the tracks
Dang. I never had issues with that.
Does this apply to the Sequoia as well?
I assume so. They are pretty much the same.
I’m not positive, but it may be better to just give upward push instead of pulling out because it breaks the pins every time.
I took off all four of my panels.
I’ll try that next time.
@@TightWadDIY I’m getting ready to take mine off again this weekend. Getting my 2008 sequoia painted cement grey!
are sequoia panels exactly same?
I am not positive but they should be.
what’s the cup thingy under the window switch called? can i buy it anywhere
que212121guat Sorry. I’m not sure why that part is called. I use mine as a trash can!
How did you remove the power window/door look panel?
Victor Mansley I show the removal at 1:05 Is that the part you are asking about?
Where the door lock and unlock and window knobs are on the door panel, he never demonstrated how to get that plastic part off of the door panel, in order to disconnect the power cables.
Aaron Collins Isn’t that what I showed at 1:05? Let me know if you need anything else.
The rear door handle does not work for opening the door from the inside
A cable probably broke.
Thank you!
