Thank you from Australia. Didn't know how to tackle this job but you showed me how. Saved me going to a panel beater as we call them here.

A butter knife with some tape around it works as a makeshift pry tool.

Unfortunately, our friend got rid of her Toyota Corolla so we no longer have access to the vehicle. We will definitely film future Corolla fixes if we have the opportunity. Thanks so much for watching.

I am having trouble getting the electrical panel back together. Any thoughts? I know this is a old video but I have a old car.

Never mind I figured it out. Had to slide the two pieces back until it clicked then was able to push it in. Thanks for making this video because I am sure it saved me some decent money.

I appreciate this information a lot. But man, did I cringe at the suggestion of using a steel screw driver to pry on paint and plastic. Purpose-made plastic tools for removing interior panels are cheap (Harbor Freight, Amazon), effective and harmless.

    • @ScottsGarage

That’s so funny you say that. We actually just picked up a set from Harbor freight so we don’t have to use a screwdriver anymore. I cringe using them. Thanks for watching.

    DO NOT TRY!
    I broke 3 clips
Its difficult to disconnect the wires and impossible to reconnect!

I'm so sorry to hear that you experienced so many problems. You definitely need to use a bit of caution when removing the door panel, but we've been able to do it multiple time without damage. Good to warn folks though of what could happen if they try this themselves.

@@scuccimane6757 The plug is made of two pieces of plastic and the smaller one in the back needs to be pulled back away from the main plastic plug until you hear it click into place. It should then be easy to push the whole thing back into the switch module.
