    You don't have to remove the handle off of the shift lever to move the trim around it. Simply remove the fastener at the base, shift into drive or manual mode, lift the base of the trim plate, then move it back to release the front, then turn it left 45 degrees or so, and lift off. Shift back into park.

    • @Paulinaandjosh
      @Paulinaandjosh  8 месяцев назад +2

      The back up camera video will show up on the screen of the head unit. If you want it to show up on both you can try using a RCA cable splitter. Split the video coming from the camera to go to the head unit and the mirror. Without seeing how it’s wired I can’t say for sure if that will work though.

    Looking at 2013 Tundra. Backup camera shows up in the rear view mirror. Assume that the camera would still connect with this Viabecs Apple Car Play and the camera would then show up in the new DASH display?

    • @Paulinaandjosh
      @Paulinaandjosh  6 месяцев назад

      The camera video will show up on the mirror OR the Android unit. It just depends on which one you plug the video cable in. You can try using a video cable splitter to see if you can get both displays to work. I haven’t tried this but if you do let me know how it goes. Also you should check out my channel I have a video for a different Android unit you might like.

    • @Paulinaandjosh
      @Paulinaandjosh  6 месяцев назад

      You would use Apple or Android depending on what type of phone you have. The head unit connects to your phone and pulls the information from your phone, Apple or Android and displays it on the head unit.
      You would disconnect the yellow video cable that is running to the mirror and connect it to the video input on the head unit.

      That is correct, the 4 original mounting bolts are not used. I was able to get the top two connectors to “click” in but it took some finagling to get it in just right. So far it hasn’t popped out and feels fairly secure but I do wish that it used at least two of the original mounting bolts for peace of mind.

      It isn’t required for this stereo. Did you try programming the controls like I did in the video?

      If you have multiple yellow AUX cables try each one. It may be plugged into the wrong one. On my channel I have a video for installing a back up camera.

    Hey josh i just bought one of these cheaper amazon android units... 10.1" roinvou is the brand.. $200 so didnt spend a ton on it. While attmepting to connect to zlink it keeps asking my phone to download a supposed zlink app and of course chrome warns me that the link is suspicious. I thought zlink was built into the android auto app? Just wondering if you had any of those problems...

      On the unit I purchased Zlink was already on the stereo. I did not have to download anything on my phone only connect to Bluetooth.

    You don't need to remove any of the center console by the way.

      I haven’t found a way to mirror. I don’t think you can but I would confirm with the manufacturer.

    Hello, congratulations on your video, a small question: do you use the microphone already in the vehicle or do you use the microphone provided with the unit? Thanks

      Hi! Thank you for watching!
      It comes with a microphone. I installed it underneath the steering wheel. It’s not noticeable and works well.

      @@Paulinaandjosh Thank you for the answer. Another question: I own a 2010 Toyota Tundra, the steering wheel controls do not work. I installed the Canbus, I chose the model and year of my vehicle but it doesn't work. I'm a little discouraged.

      The CarPlay system is built into the unit. It is not a secondary device.

      So far so good! My only complaint is the sound quality. It has lots of options to adjustment the sound to your liking but it doesn’t sound as good as the stock stereo imo.
