    After several bad and failed relationships, I’d pretty much written off women and especially marriage entirely. You reminding me that there are more than ugly, selfish feminists out there. You are a veritable gem of a truly feminine woman and your husband does have a strong helpmeet. I literally was moved to tears because of your gentle and loving spirit. I wish millions of millennial women could see this and believe God’s design will fulfill them more than competition in the corporate world. Please make more videos like this for unmarried young women. Us men need more women like you. Thanks for giving me hope.

    Yes! They need us. Mu Husband and I are intentional about hospitality....but he forgets to invite, so I arrange all the social get togethers. He likes his shirts ironed, I do that for him. He is trying to eat better, so I help by making healthier meals. I think Gods design for the wife to be a helpmate is amazing, and how he pairs people together is amazing. Our strengths and weaknesses are often opposite but we refine and sharpen one another.

    My husband is a disabled veteran with combat PTSD. I've learned that he does better when I stay calm about all things that might come up. When kids are running around he sometimes needs a break and be in our bedroom where it's quite. He doesn't want to yell at the kids so he just needs a break. I help him by giving him that without complaining about him needing time away from the chaos of having 5 kids.

      My husband is a Marine. I can totally understand where your coming from. He's triggered by certain sounds so I try to be conscious of certain places where not to go (fireworks for ex.)

      Many people have PTSD. Trauma survivors. I had severe & damaging emotional damage due to childhood abuse and molestation. For decades it affected my love relationships. I had rage. Couldn't get on with my man. After prayer, fasting and forgiving my parents, the Lord completely healed my PTSD. I believe your husband will be delivered as well.

    Our husbands are similar. He wants my help with reminding him to do devotions at night. Birthday, anniversary and holiday reminders. He likes me to work/help him with outdoor projects like trapping, making fishing lures, gardening, raising small animals, furs (like making fur hats) he finds joy in me being interested in what he is doing. Remind him of when bills need to be paid. Then he pays them. This is something small..but he really likes when I make sure we don't run out of stamps for postage. And checks for the class book. Running errands for him. He says he likes me keeping his "castle" clean. Thanks for your mentoring. Hope y'all have a great week. Keep in touch.

    You brought tears to my eyes. Alana there are no words that I have that can properly praise what you do for wives, husbands, and therefore families...I do however can think of 4: gold, silver, precious stones.You have pulled off the veil from my eyes. And now I see. I have been like that foolish wife, maybe even self righteous in my husband’s eyes, tearing him up when he forgets these things instead of building him up and imparting grace, glorifying God’s wisdom in His design.My spirit rejoices at the truth you share, there is much edification and hope in it.

    Oh my word! After watching this video I am really realizing how incredibly blessed I am. I honestly cannot keep up with all of the selfless things my husband does for me. I have several health issues and no one takes care of me like he does. This morning he knew I had a long ride to a new doctor so he got up before me and took my car to fill up the tank...even though I told him I would fill it on the way. He filled my my window washer fluid reservoir because he knows how bad the pollen is right now. He made a smoothie for himself and left me the rest in the refrigerator with a note. He's been on his own since he was 17. He loves to cook and we often cook together side by side. We clean up together. It's our favorite thing to do together. He reorganized our kitchen cabinets to make things easier on me. I didn't ask. He just knew what would be better for me. He loves the grocery store and we always shop together when it's going to be a big order. He would do my laundry if I let him, but I don't. Reading some of the other comments, it's almost like these women are describing children instead of men. We don't look at anything as each others "jobs". We work together and discuss what works. There are things we prefer to do or not do, but we are one. We serve each other because it comes naturally and that is how we show love.

    This video is exactly what I needed today. I've been strugglng lately with my role as wife and mother and my husband and I have been in a difficult place because of it. There has been SO much "why can't he just______" on my part and yesterday I was praying about it and I just felt God telling me that I wasn't doing what he called me to do. I'm quick to jump in, even in agreement but I've found that men like time to formulate what they're thinking. I try to stop and listen, not to jump to conclusions, good or bad. Just fully listening helps a lot! You're so right, after I post this comment I'm gonna think of a bunch of other things too! Thanks for making this video! Feeling blessed. A good way of thinking about the things we do and the things that frustrate us. We often forget this, the devil's plan of course, making it appear a burden or struggle rather than a purpose. Need to remember this in those moments of frustration, that its my part or purpose more than it's my battle with him.

I know you can’t have the world and God, but he is still willing to do devotionals. So I’m hoping I can be an example and help him in that way so he can fully surrender his life completely. I still have plenty of work to do on myself but I continue to pray for him.

I asked my husband how I help him most, and my husband thinks my 'super-help' power is recalling Scripture addresses and being able to quote at least portions of the verse. Haha I was kind of thinking it was how I can find anything he's looking for within seconds. (But I do have an advantage in that I am the one that manages our home, so I know how everything is organized or where it's kept.)

Also waking him up for work or obligations we have, he will sleep right through an alarm. her spiritual strength through her husband. He’s not giving her any spiritual strength in this text and she’s got lots of it. Her hope is in God. She’s probably going to church on Sunday morning before he gets up, getting her strength elsewhere, getting her worldview elsewhere.6. Submission does not mean living or acting in fear.This God-fearing wife is fearless.I love the Scriptures. I’m a complementarian. I believe that men are called to a unique kind of leadership in marriage. I believe that women are called to a unique kind of submission in marriage. And I think it’s a beautiful thing - the way those two roles complement and serve one another. If we probe the depths and keep digging into the Scriptures, even though they’re written in another time, they will shape a marriage today into a beautiful thing.Therefore, in light of everything I have said submission is not, I would define submission in marriage like this: Submission is the defined calling of a wife to honor and affirm her husband’s leadership, and so help to carry it through according to her gifts.

      Janet Cortorreal I don’t mean to speak for Alana but I feel like she talks so much about what the woman does because she is a woman speaking to mostly other women. Most of Alana’s videos are about taking control of what YOU bring to the table, because only you (through Christ) can change your own heart and actions. Personally, the only thing I see coming out of a video of her saying all the wonderful things her husband does would be some of us turning to our own husbands thinking “we’ll why doesn’t mine do that?!” Versus Alana suggesting as a woman to us women some things that we ought to do and convicting our hearts to be the change we wish to see. But that’s just my two cents :)

    • @christy0misty353
      @christy0misty353 6 лет назад +6

      Janet Cortorreal Would you comment the same thing on a video of a man mentoring husbands on how to love their wives?
      Would you say to such a man, "Well what about your wife? You talk about men doing things for their wives... why aren't you talking to the wives and telling them what to do?"?

    • @LJC4495
      @LJC4495 6 лет назад +2

      Christy0Misty by the way I'm not a femmist I just believe in equality. yes Iam a Christian. I think people in the church should stop using words like submit to your husband's with out biblical backup as to exactly what that means. People should read the and follow the Lord on their own and not just listen to the advice of people. I love my husband and Iam his helper and he is mine it's not a one way street. That all Iam saying didn't want to bring about anger from anyone.

    • @christy0misty353
      @christy0misty353 6 лет назад +3

      Janet Cortorreal So a man mentoring other men to love their wives is teaching them to be a doormat? A woman mentoring other women on how to love their husbands is teaching them to be a doormat? Man, that's a bummer of a mentality. :(
