I know the feeling Rebeca.... I'm single but when I was in a relationship I felt like I was alone. My ex didn't want to lead or do anything , so I put him out, lol. He wanted me to lead and do everything as if I was his mother or maid or the man in the relationship. I was already doing everything on my own and he thought that he could just move in and have an easy life at my expense by not working or providing. I'm single and celibate until God brings me a new love.

Well... I came back to delete my previous two marathon comments and just say thank you. I came to your page specifically so that I could hear some encouraging advice about being a good and Godly wife, and my sinful, bitter flesh was just fighting against it, and I wrote these long self-pitying comments about how hard it is to do the job God has called me to do because of how sinful my husband is. Then the Lord worked on me the last few hours and I see how self-righteous I am being. And how blessed I am in so many ways in my husband, and how I have such huge flaws myself but he hasn't said, "Ok that's it Im not doing my job anymore because of your flaws". And I'm repenting, and asking the Lord to give me more grace to do better by Him and by my husband. Sincerely, thank you for being a Christ-honoring encouragement to us ladies who really do WANT to do the Godly thing, and who need to be pointed and encouraging towards Christ, even when... no, ESPECIALLY when, it is hard. Good morning! !! I totally agree with you on how a biblical wife should be with her husband . I love to cook, have house clean and clothes washed and ironed, for my husband, and anything else i feel that helps his life more easier. I am glad I found your channel because I feel support on the choice I make as a wife. Most my friends are married but they think I am crazy for doing for my husband, they tell me it is 2018 not 1800's. I enjoy listening to you and knowing that severing my husband is more than okay. Haha It's SO refreshing to have Biblical counsel and perspectives when the whole world- including many in the church- are running away from Biblical marriage and distinction between masculinity and femininity. I love this channel and Alana's heart for godly marriages and wives!
I believe most women do not like this because it is not fair. A man goes to work, comes home, and does nothing and expects his wife to do everything. My mom always said a woman's work is never done. When does the wife get to sit down and rest? Why is it fair for the husband to do nothing all weekend and go out with his friends and the wife is stuck at home with the kids, still cooking and doing laundry and cleaning? When I read comments like yours I am thankful I married a man who does not view me as a maid. He helps out with the cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, watches the kids so I can go out with my friends.

Great video Alana. It is a delight to seeve our Husbands. Its a great calling for us to fulfill the helpmate role. They need us! I like to serve him by making food and meals for him, ironing clothes, and keeping the house clean. Mu Husband works about 85 hours each week right now, and isn't able to be home as much. On the evenings he is home I want him to relax and for home to be a refuge. I don't want to give him a long list of things to do, so I take care of the housework for the majority right now.
Great video Alana! This is super simple but I always try to have a big glass of ice water on the table when my husband gets home from work. He really appreciates it and knows he is loved. Makes my heart sing ❤️

When I think of what my *own* mentality should be toward serving my husband, I think of Philippians 2, but especially verses 3-4. 'Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.' (And later it mentions not grumbling and complaining, which I also remind myself of often!) One way I delight in serving my husband is having the home tidy and my active involvement in dinner basically done when he comes home. That way, my husband, children, and I can just focus on welcoming papa home and enjoying one another's company! (Mary style... vs Martha style, haha)
A few months ago I read the chapter about male and female roles in Wayne Grudem’s book, Systematic Theology. I don’t believe most of the arguments I once did. What changed my mind was that what and who is said to be subject to anyone is never reversed and is always subject to someone with greater authority. Something I’ve never understood is what are husbands allowed to do that wives aren’t. What is being subject to a husband in everything? How much of the husbands role is like Jesus being head of the church? Why can both genders preach but only males can lead church? Originally churches were in homes and it mentions women in the New Testament who had services in their homes. People say they weren’t leading just because they had church in their homes.
Men are to love, cherish and wash their wives in the word. Ephesians 5 They lead and protect and provide. Women are not to shepherd a flock because of the order of creation. 1 Timothy 2:12 Women can teach other women in the appropriate setting and freely exhort and encourage both men and women. Women can host services in their homes, but not be the teacher over men. I’d search the scriptures and allow them to be your ultimate authority vs. cultures “good” arguments against it. God bless!

I don’t see any part restricting women from washing husbands in the word. I also see no restriction on women to protect and provide. The wife in proverbs 31 is praised for doing that. Some women in the New Testament were commended for providing food and clothes for church members. Don’t female missionaries and women who teach sermons preach? Were the New Testament women mentioned to have taught the message of Jesus’s salvation not preaching? I think it only says they can’t lead a church. I don’t see how that forbids them from preaching to men.

I think the way you feel about husband's being "the king of the castle" and similar phrases can also have a lot to do with your up bringing. My father was extremely abusive towards my mother and my siblings and me and used many of these phrases and exerted his abuse under the guise of Christianity. I say under the guise because in all other aspects of his life he did not follow Christ's message and used it only when beneficial to himself. I want to be a good wife and have been watching your videos as my boyfriend and I move towards that covenant of marriage. I have to admit I struggle when I hear some of these phrases because they are tied strongly to these memories. It is hard for me to hear the message and understand in the way it was intended without feeling the undertones of how it was used to control and manipulate during my childhood.

I don't really like the idea of husband is the king of the home. Sounds like a wife is supposed to serve her husband like a maid. I wouldn't want my husband to call me queen of the home either, I don't expect to be treated like a queen. My father expected my mother to do everything for him. He doesn't even know how to wash clothes or run the dishwasher. I was very strategic in marrying a man who knows how to take care of himself so I don't feel like I have to.
