Cody your idea with Ricky holding the knife and being the killer would have been an awesome ending!!! I enjoyed this film because i knew it was going to be terrible,horrible but kind of fun especially since we got a couple of the original cast members back!!! You need to create your own horror films because i think you got some really great ideas

Ok, the Tina/Glen/Freddy thing was f***ing brilliant, and you almost, ALMOST got me with the Freddy apology, but I knew in my heart as a long time subscriber that you wouldn't go that far
Don't know why Angela killing those who bully Alan when he's a bully himself but the kills in this movie is very gruesome.
Alan wasn’t nearly as bad as the other campers. He probably only bullied them because it was a learned behavior.
He obviously has mental illness
@@TehPesky - I think he has learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism. Bullying someone like that is probably why so many people hated this movie.
Even as someone who prefers the second film, a part of me wishes Sleepaway Camp was a standalone film instead of a franchise.
Yeah it almost feels like a different franchise if it weren’t for Angela. The tone of the first felt like Friday the 13th. A hidden POV killer while the second is pure gold black comedy with them showing us Angela doing the killing, and teaching everyone “lessons”.
You apologizing to Tina absolutely made my day. 😂🤣 Love it! I personally never found Tina to be as annoying as people say she is. But compared to Alan, Tina is a dream come true. That insufferable, god awful nightmare of a character named Alan. Never even got the satisfaction of seeing him meet his brutal end.

As I am watching this, Cody, the smile on my face got bigger and bigger as you were leading up to Alan, I could see the frustration, and I had to pause at the 13 min marker to finally give a big laugh out as soon as you mention him and how "HE'S THE LEAD FUCKIN CHARACTER" XD Great job!!!!

I’ve never actually seen this movie I didn’t even know it existed until dead meat did a kill count on this franchise. I saw the kills in this movie and they looked cool like a bed of nails being smashed on a person and someone got skinned alive. At least those are the ones I remember and I do hope if this movie gets a requel or a reboot they bring up the budget and being Felissa Rose back as Angela. Stopppp I’m dead he really apologized to Tina and Glen😂.

Return to Sleepaway Camp (2008) is an atrocity of a film & I'm giving it a 1/10. Also, the character of Alan is easily among the Top 2 Worst Characters that I've ever seen in the Horror Genre, just behind Tina Williams from Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989).

Alan was a neglected teenager who never hurt or murdered anyone.
*You* might be on God’s list of worst people for that.
This was set to be released in 2003, as a 20-year anniversary of the original, but only came out in 2008.
You can tell. It looks more early 2000s than a late 2000 film.
Wow! You bring a lot of valid points in your review. I also loved the part when you were "apologizing" to all of the other bad characters that you've talked trash on when you realized Alan takes the cake for being the most detestable lead role in any horror movie. Your reviews are very well orchestrated, thought out and put together.
If Alan were such a terrible character, most audiences would have cheered and laughed when people bullied him, but most were disgusted and felt sorry for him.

Hey Cody, another great review! I maybe I'm in the minority here, but I don't care.... But I love this movie! I think of it as a cheaply made comedy! I agree with you 100%, that Alan is the worst character of all-time.. and in a way we do get rewarded by watching him get bullied throughout most of the movie! Usually I do not condone bullying, but.......... if anyone deserves to be its ALAN! He is beyond annoying.. but I love seeing the characters troll him to the extreme! I thought they created some innovative kills... but this entire series is made to look cheap and to have cheezy acting all around, so I personal feel this movie belongs in the franchise... I'd recommend, coming into this movie with low expectations and enjoy seeing Alan get what he deserves throughout most of the movie... It is great to see the legacy cast as well!.. anyway... great job again Cody!

It's nice to see Felissa Rose back as Angela however this movie my least favorite of the franchise.

Great video man, I can't wait for Chucky season 2 and Halloween Ends. I been watching your videos since 2020. Are you going to do a 2001's Thirteen Ghosts review and 1998's The Faculty review? I think both those movies including 1999's House On Haunted Hill are very underrated.

13:52 IMO he's a bully whose victims got sick of it and started bullying him. The film expects you to feel sorry for him but he deserved everything he got and brought it on himself.
Alan’s “victims” never bullied him back because Alan only bullied his bunkmates, which was a learned behavior.
It was the older kids that targeted Alan, and it was because he was different as a result of having learning disabilities.
Alan was always friendly to people that were nice to him, though. He was on the spectrum and didn’t realize how he was coming across.
Keep in mind that Alan was only 14, and he had horrible parenting. His mother was probably a slut who was too busy partying when she should have been a parent.

Totally agree. Worst character in any horror movie I have ever seen! And I'm a hardcore horror fan! I have the first 200 issues of Fangoria. I used to be able to go into a video store and check off more than 95% of the horror section.

To me, part of what makes Sleepaway Camp so enjoyable is how much fun the cast and crew had making it. You can look up an interview from anyone who was in any of these movies and they’ll all speak of the franchise so fondly. No one looks like they’re having fun in this movie, so it’s not as fun to watch.

Important question for this movie and any other franchise that wants to try to reboot without moving backward in time: Are summer camps really much of a thing anymore? Like, outside of maybe upper class populations, or organizations like the scouts? I think the entire concept needs updating and recontextualizing before more titles like this are attempted, because this and others like it not only seem to think they are still super common but also operate the way they did back in the 80s.
This was a very entertaining review. Did you see Jeepers Creepers: Reborn before or after Sleepaway Camp 4?
