Don't care how much it angers the fandom, I am all in for the theory mentioned @7:40 . Am fascinated by Glenn's character and want a First Soldier reunion for part 3 after they confirmed Matt and Lucia are still active and seeing how they led the assault on Shinra Tower, they and Glenn must be high up members of Avalanche. And judging by Rufus's fear and character change after meeting Glenn, I would love to go full fanfiction and the implications of them being half brothers.
They scene in The Glambrescent was one of my favorite in this section. The unexpected charm of it had me in stitches. I'm eager to hear your take on Glenn and his relation to Cloud. (The hair, man, come on. Not to mention the other clues.) I've seen various people speak against this, but this connection seems deliberate, obvious, and imo a smart choice. Glenn was a prototype SOLDIER... Who had an impact on young Sephiroth. This would make Sephiroth's personal interest in Cloud more layered and meaningful to them both. Edit: typo
There are many, many hints that Glenn is Cloud's father and I personally enjoy the discourse around it. However, a major red flag for me is that Cloud doesn't react to hearing Glenn's name when Yuffie says it at the Corel Reactor. Pairing that with the Halloween Event in Ever Crisis when Glenn says he's never been to Nibelheim tips me towards the opinion that they're not related.
Simply put it makes no sense for Glenn to be Cloud's father given what we've been told in Ever Crisis. He never mentions any family except for his grandma (Cloud is around 6 when those events happen) and he's never been to Nibelheim. You could argue he has memory loss maybe but that's never brought up in the story once. He also "met" Cloud during the half anniversary event and neither of them had any reaction, you'd think Cloud would remember his father.
I appreciate you guy's input. This is such an interesting possibility to me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Cloud's father disappeared when he was a baby. So they wouldn't recognize each other on sight. Playing devil's advocate, if Glenn were trying to protect Claudia and Cloud from Shinra, he'd lie about ever being to Nibelhieim, and probably have given Claudia a pseudonym. There are other reasons he might lie as well. Then again, it's possible they aren't connected at all. I look forward to learning more about this. 🙏
@@GetWiley It's not impossible that Glenn used a pseudonym while in Nibelheim, but that's the one that seems a step too far for me (odd as that may be).
@@m.j.gallagher6756 I appreciate your point of view on this, Mo. 🙏 While it could make for an interesting plot twist, I can't make any definitive arguments for its plausibility. (To his credit, I think a degree of ambiguity is very much the point of some of Nojima's literary choices.) The FF7 compilation certainly has its share of misdirects. I'm eager to see to future videos where you may go into greater detail on this topic. Cheers, bud. Edit: phrasing
I'm not gonna lie. I am waiting for each and every episode of the Rebirth Revealed episodes. I can't wait until we get to Ch8
I YELLED when Glenn showed up. I absolutely did not think they'd connect EC to the Remake trilogy so directly
I love this series. It deserves way more views.
This series of videos is criminally underrated
Lots of great tidbits. Thank you.
