Can you post a link to the BOV you installed? Turbosmart has a couple electronic units and i want to make sure I don't get one that requires a Tune. Thx.
Honestly it’s mainly for the sound. The build quality is really good though so if your looking to really push the car this is a nice BOV to insure reliability
I was interested in the 4-cylinder turbo Mustang but when I found out that it doesn't sound like the cars on Fast and the Furious and I mean it does not have a loud turbo spool and Loud blow off valve then I was not interested. The whole point of buying a car with a turbo is to have that loud spool and that blow off sound. So people will say WTF! Otherwise just get a 5.0 and call it a day
Greta video! Will this work on the 2022 mustang ecoboost cars? I’m looking to get one soon but I saw this is for 2015-2022 and I was wondering it if will still work on the 2022’s?
love your videos man ! i have an '18 Eco myself , so ive been slowly modding lol ordered myself an turbosmart BOV so im anxious for that "new sound" lol
The atmospheric vent adapter is $75 and sounds the exact same btw folks. If all you want is the blow off sound, this is the way in my opinion. If you’re not seeing more boost than stock, there’s really not much need to change bypass valves.
@@axelolivera2880 yes, it will cause loss of power, misfires, improper fuel/air mixture causing the ECU to dump more fuel. Can cause issues with the lifespan of the turbo.
@@Jiggacakeas he says in the video, this has the exact same situation where the boost leak happens at cruise. The ECU is doing that on purpose. There isn’t any reason why it would be bad for it to go to atmosphere vs into the intake. EBs have a MAP sensor, not a MAF, so it will not and can not affect the air/fuel ratio. It doesn’t affect the “turbo” life, the turbo doesn’t know the difference between dumping it in the intake and dumping it to the engine bay.
Mines an automatic. May be different with the manual. Seems like it has more to do with load on the engine and different RPMs. ECU is just regulating excess boost pressure.
@@daily_driven that’s what I was thinking. Have you kept yours on? I watched some more recent vids of yours and I can’t hear it anymore. Did you decide to go back to stock with it or is the new exhaust kinda drowning it out? I’m on the fence on getting one. They seem cool but then seem like they would get old fast. Lol.
I’m sure if it’s not installed correctly it could but other than that I don’t think so. It’s controlled electronically so you shouldn’t have a problem 🙂👍
Yeah you get a similar sound however a spacer let’s all of the air to escape where as the BOV is a dual port and recirculates about half the air back into the intake system and half to atmosphere. This is suppose to allow the car to better account for the air just as it would stock. This should give a better response going back into boost. But either way you still get a great sound! Thanks for watching
I installed a turbo smart duel port BoV and I’ve messed with this so many times to fix it from fluttering. I want the Psshhhh sound and not the fluttering noise. Anyways to fix it?
Sounds like it might be set to tight, like holding boost too long causing turbo flutter. However I have the em version kinda plug and play. So not the most knowledgeable on the mechanical Bovs.
Hey! Yes this is completely safe to run without a tune. The EM version is a plug and play unit and is still controlled by the Ecu in the car so it will function as normal. Just better build qty than stock and added pshhhh noises lol 🙂
This shouldn’t void warranty. Ford would have to prove that this component was the cause of an issue if you ever have to take the car in for warranty repairs. Thanks for watching!
If your reading this bro I hope you see differently now. There’s billions of people in this world who wish they could have a Ecoboost and they’ll never get one. Be grateful .
Not everyone can afford 40-50k on a car. Ecoboost is extremely good price to performance. I just got a '24 Ecoboost and I love it. Next time I buy one though ill message you to spot me the extra 10-12k to upgrade to the v8 ;)
My 3.5 2017 Ecoboost F-150 with 115,000 miles spins 35" tires jumping into traffic if I'm even a tad over enthusiastic. I'm not drag racing, and yes. I'm talking about a truck, but I can tow more than the Coyote.

Does it increase performance ? And what kind of gas do you use for your mustang ecoboost?
Honestly it’s mainly for the sound. The build quality is really good though so if your looking to really push the car this is a nice BOV to insure reliability
Does this need a tune after install?
No.
Was looking at these a little but I could not find if it was rated for more psi then stock, and is this the Dual Port or Plumb back?

None of the cars in Fast and the Furious had that sound from the factory, either….
Dawg i was looking at the road and I was like this looks familiar and then i saw my friend’s high school 😭😭😭
Oh really!? Ha nice!
I have the 2021 s550 where can I buy that and what is it called?

New model next year...
Normally I enjoy the bov sound but lately I’ve been digging the turbo spooling up, any recommendations

more info on atmospheric vent adapter please?
that adapter also will cause boost leak at cruising speeds and they have a reputation for sticking open
@@Jiggacake I bought one and I think I'm experiencing that problem, is that leak bad for the engine??

Is your Mustang a manual or automatic??? I wonder if the hiss at 80 on cruise could be because of what gear it might be in????

Manuals bypass boost to an extent while cruising at highway speeds too. I have a ‘17 6mt.
Do you still have on the BOV? How has it been?
Yup still have it! Going good so far!
Will it work for a 2024 mustang ecoboost?
no
is it possible for this bov to cause any issues? I just got a brand new ecoboost and am scared lol
I’m sure if it’s not installed correctly it could but other than that I don’t think so. It’s controlled electronically so you shouldn’t have a problem 🙂👍
With the hissing noise. Will it still make it on the freeway if you don’t use cruise control
Yeah it will at certain speeds and depending on the load on the engine. I notice it most around 80mph. But you can kinda drive around it
Why waste 250 bucks when you can buy a 25-60 buck cap for the exact same sound

Are these easy to uninstall and put the stock one back on if you need to?
Super easy install! Only 3 screws and a plug to worry about. Kinda tight working area but overall not bad 👍
What pc you have ?
Hey! I have a custom desktop PC I built a few years back. If I remember it’s a i5 6600k processor and 64gb ram with a 1080 graphics card.
Where did you purchase your front grille?
I actually got it from someone on Facebook marketplace. Guy with a GT upgraded his grille. Got it cheap. Thanks for watching!
I installed the turbo smart shortie and it turned my turn engine light and my car would shutoff... why?
Hmm did you install the “Em” version or the mechanical valve?
@@daily_driven mechanical valve.
Link?
can this be used for v6 mustang?
Unfortunately no. Unless you install a turbo kit on the v6. Likely would need a different BOV for that kit. Thanks for watching!
@@daily_driven So the compact dual kit?
Turbosmart TS-0203-1081 - Turbosmart Kompact Dual Port Blow-Off Valves. Says it fits mustang 2016 v6
I wouldn’t think it would since there wouldn’t be a need for it on a v6 NA engine. Maybe it’s a typo lol

TurboDumb is more like it. These cars come with great music audio systems; you’d have to be a moron to want engine noise that messes with that.
