I recently ordered this part from CJ Pony Parts, I am a loyal customer and am looking forward to putting another quality part on my 2019 Ecoboost Mustang PP. Thanks for another great install video!
Love mine ! It’s way louder than factory. BOV & JLT cold air intake on my Eco sounds great no tune or any new mods ... yet 😈. I’m satisfied with my BOV
First off - love Bill’s videos however, this install is not nearly as easy as he makes it look. A few points : 1.) Absolutely need go ensure you have this new unit aligned properly with the hose harness sitting towards 7 o’clock. There is a VERY small flat spot along the outer edge that needs to be in this orientation- or you will not get the housing holes lined up properly. 2.) VERY tight quarters. For those of us with bigger hands, you will need a variety of # 5 Allen key options (straight, angles ratchet w extension, etc). 3.) Do yourself a favor and use some grease to seat the larger O-Ring and keep it in place. Without that, the moment you tilt the BOV at 90 deg to install - that O-Ring will fall and good luck finding it in the engine compartment below. 4.) also suggest placing a pan / towel under the BOV site, as the OEM hardware is very small, and just like the O-Ring comment - drop one… good luck. Now, all that said - the unit is indeed a major upgrade from a build quality standpoint, and sounds nice after my first post install ride. I am hearing some turbo whoosh inside the car while letting off the gas during gear changes. Enjoy.
@CJ pony parts what’s the difference between this version and the version where you have to add a new tube on the other side of the engine? And which do you recommend best
Just installed this, the BOV works and sounds like it should, car idles normally as it did before install, don’t see any hoses not connected properly and the BOV is snug on the pipe, but I’m getting horrible gas mileage after taking it for a short drive. I’m at a loss of what it could be.
Great video. I ordered this online and should get it within two weeks. I ordered this along with a Bama tuner. I currently have an aftermarket cold air intake and aftermarket exhaust installed. Would this assist the turbo as well? I’m thinking about engine longevity and I know pumping more boost probably isn’t going to help that.
am i experiencing the placebo? After installation, 2018 10speed shifts smoother up/down w/o hesitation or the 'lurch clunk'. i confess enjoying the vanity whoosh of the $50 VTA BOV but car did not run smoothly afterwards and worried me enough to return to stock for months. Personally, this plug n play is more appealing than vacuum models. the whoosh is SiGNiFiCANTLY quieter compared to any $50 BOV. But i am vain and missed that sound. (insert relationship metaphor to compare experiences). idk but i believe TURBOSMART designed a better functioning part over stock BPA and delivers enough whoosh to satisfy vanity and maintain mechanical peace of mind.
A proper BOV will provide more than just that satisfying whoosh sound. They will hold boost better and release it quickly and efficiently when needed. There is a lot of engineering in the Turbosmart parts which is why they work so well.
You were not feeling a placebo effect, the stock valve either is fully open or fully closed, if this valve was designed to control the opening and closing better than the stock valve than what you are feeling is the new valve is more effective at controlling the boost, it releases only what is needed when needed instead of just going full open and then full closed again. You are feeling real results and while this valve will not make new horsepower or torque what it does do is allow the boost to be more effective which improves the drivability.
I am commenting on the will it void the warranty questions. The answer is yes and no, first the blow off valve part will not be covered under the Ford warranty because it is not a Ford part, so if the blow off valve was to malfunction Ford would not be liable for warranting the aftermarket part. If you have an oil leak from the valve cover Ford will have to warranty that, if your water pump leaks Ford would have to warranty that. If you blow up the engine Ford would have to prove the cause of the engine failure was due to the blow off valve to deny warranty so if Ford can't prove the blow off valve caused the failure than they have to honor the warranty. Then you have the dealer issues, some dealers are mod friendly and will not challenge you over a mod unless the mod was the cause of the failure. Other dealers just seeing a mod on the car they will try to tell you your entire warranty is void because they want to charge you customer pay for the job. Dealers do not make as much on a job under warranty so many will falsely say any mod voids the entire warranty. I hope this helps.
I'll be running it with a 91 tune. Day one..... everyone is staring at me ahahha. Connected the bluedrive OBD2 to read the codes and nothing. Car is running fine so far. *WOOSH!!*
I have a roush intake, borla atak catback and installed a cvf intercooler so now the car has compressor surge, you think if I install this it’ll fix my problem or should I get something that just vents and doesn’t recirculate?
how come mine dont give a blowoff sound unless im driving down the road and gas it, it want do it if im just idling and rev it up .....you think i might have a leak ?
I installed mine a few days ago but for some reason at very low boost like cruising on the highway it will randomly blow off and make a hissing sound is there a way to fix this?
I just installed this BOV to my 2019 mustang ecoboost today, and I did not get that same sound.. is there something I might have done wrong? No pop ups.
There are two versions of these blow off valves, There are Plumb-Back(less expensive) BOV option (which i believe you may have) and that controls boost the same way but it won’t give it the killer sound. You would need the Dual Port (more expensive) BOV option if you want to achieve that sound
@@cjponyparts i don’t think the dual port is able to get adjusted. But the issue was we broke off the turbo pressure sensor, we replaced that and the BOV is working just fine thanks
I have not had any issues with my warranty. It may vary depending on your specific dealer. Some say they have to prove that the mod you have done caused whatever issue you have it in for. Honestly when you start to change things on your car do what makes you happy. Its just a car and have fun with it. You spent the money for it and have to drive it everyday. Cj Pony team and it’s vendors take so much time in designing and testing these products we buy and put on our cars, that is silly to worry about warranty. The car was going to have whatever demons it is going to have with our without these products. To answer your other question, the sound is louder and more crisp. Definitely better than the adapters. Over 5 months and I still love it. Thank you again to Bill and the cj team
lee speed same here, I double checked and it looks properly sealed. I have no idea why, I mean I hear it from time to time and most of the time the sound happens seconds after I change my gears. Who knows..
Um uhhhh missing a very important part, how to connect the harness fottes for the actual BOV. The BOV comes with a bunch of parts and attachments…which u never addressed. 1 wrench my ass LOL

Thank you for the tutorial. I will definitely try it. Double like for your watch Save the Ocean Seiko!
I usually take off the Seiko when actually working but forgot today lol
Just installed this as well as an airraid CAI. Tuned with the SCT BDX tuner. Thank you for the videos.

Will you hear it when it shifts? That little high pitched "pew" sound.
It depends how you shift. If you are no lift shifting no, if you lift when you shift yes you will hear it.

I have a 10 spd mustang to, and my question it’s if you hear the sound of the bov wen the transmission are shifting because it’s quick,

Si se escucha fuerte???
The sound is strong?
Is there a way to adjust this BOV?
Help I bought this bov and ever since installing im getting 4 -5 mpg worse. What could be the issue?

Figured that out?
i have a dtc code p0234 cand this fix it ?
Dont want the psss i need it to surge is it the Kompact EM Plumb Back Valve (Diverter Valve) VR2??
Do i need to add a Tune to make the valve work? I have a 2019 Ecoboost Premium Mustang with Performance Tune installed at the dealer..
Following up on this. Did you ever get a tune or need a tune?

Installing mine today.
Easy install. I the dual port note knowing the recirc was an option. However it’s not annoying and I’ve come to like it allot when rowing the gears.
Can someone please help me find a blow off valve for a 2019 Lincoln MKC 2.3 ecoboost
I though you only needed the Allen key ? What size socket do you use as well as the length of the extension
You do, if you're experienced enough you don't need to remove the hose and can do it without a ratchet
You think this could work on a X5 F15 2018?
Will this kind of BOV void the warranty?
Depends on your dealership.
Is a TUNE required if you install this product?
No a tune is not required.
@@cjponyparts Thank you. It gets confusing because some people in this tread say you “DO” need a Tune.

Tune
Will this work on a GT?
Are these easy to uninstall and put the stock one back on if you need to?
Absolutely
Will this void the warranty on a new 2019?
No
Got a mustang with an overboost condition after install. Any tips?
Same!!!
Code p0234
Have u fixed it ?

Mine flutters and doesn’t sound like that I can barely hear it, why is that

what exactly does this do besides the turbo noise i already get from my JLT intake r these really worth the 250$?!?!
Google is your friend
Will this throw any lights on the dashboard?
No it will not, the car will drive just like stock and the blow off noise will be more subdued with the hood down.
@@cjponyparts You already had my sale when I saw the video posted 😂 thanks for the response. I'll be getting one in the coming months
No lights on dash. Vehicle is more responsive and sounds amazing.
@@ryanembich7125 great, thanks!
I received an overboost condition code P0234. After installing this part
you may have the valve set too tight. Turn the valve loose until the cars idle drops and then go 1/4 turn tight.
@@cjponyparts i don’t think the dual port is able to get adjusted. But the issue was we broke off the turbo pressure sensor, we replaced that and the BOV is working just fine thanks
How can i order this bov?
Can this be installed on a car with basic bolt ons, or is it for heavily modified cars?
Yea, this was the first mod I made to my car.
Is this legal?
Will this void warranty?
I mean you can just put oem back in 🤷🏻♂️
Any HP gains with this unit?🚙
You will not see any peak gains but may see some under the curve due to better control.
@@cjponyparts i saw problems happen after i put it on my car
Hello! Is that for the Ecoboost? I installed a bypass valve adapter on my Ecoboost is it similar? It makes the blow off sound. Thanks!
Ezduztube I’d imagine that’d it’s for the EcoBoost being it’s the only turbocharged Mustang.
I see. Will the blow off sound be louder? Or would the Turbo get a bit louder? Thanks!
Ezduztube the whoosh is more pronounced and is better than the adapter you can buy for $40. The bov works way better than the adapter.
