Witch tune port do u recommend I get ?I have a 2016 ecoboost with borla exhaust
How do you do the custom tunes with the Cobbs?
Probably a 5.2l voodoo crate engine and tremec 6 speed.
@@tatsuhirosatou5513 The right answer.
Unlike many I think the ecoboost is great and perfect for tuning. If you just get good tires, an intercooler, a Cobb accessport, a blowoff valve, a waste gate actuator, and a pro tune (PD Tuning) you can make some great power (400wheel torque and about 330 whp) for under $1,500. It’s what I’m doing for my ecoboost. Can’t forget the few parts that need replacing (low-side fuel pressure sensor, and evap purge valve.)
Does this affect the lifespan of your mustang or no?
@@heatrg1090 Definitely does. All of those mods increase the chances of ecoboom
@@ADeeManz damn
@@Liam-ub5gj that’s with any car. Any increase no matter how small also increases chance for failure. But what’s the fun in not doing it just because you might mess the car up?
JUST GET A GT :)
I always tell people to get
Bigger Intercooler
3” downpipe
Wastegate actuator
Remote oil catch can
Cobb access port + custom tune
I went with the ROUSH Level 2 Performance pack (exhaust, CAI, and tune) for 65 additional hp. My car loves the 375 hp in twisty roads., upgraded to 20inch wheels, all black out light kit, black emblems, neoprene seat covers, Pioneer nav unit, touchscreen HVAC controls, catch can and a few more
How much was that overall?
These were all tasty mods the staggered stance looks good , exaust note was nice , prop.rod delete for struts , lowering springs , tune , now all I need is a ecoboost I don't have one .
same, keep grinding
😂 you can get one brotha I have a million bills and a Ecoboost and a 2021 Ecoboost and manage it all you can do it brotha grind.
1. Exhaust
2. Suspension + tires + wheels
3. Cooling system (cool air intake, radiator, etc...)
4. Tune
5. Exterior carbon fiber goodies (hood, wing, side skirts)
Just my personal top 5 mods. I count the suspension and wheels all in one category just cause it’s all technically together
Cai does jack shit for these cars lol there’s really only 4 mods you should even consider for performance before u need to build the block. These cars are dog shit to mod lol
Why do people like carbon fiber so much I’ve never understood cus it doesn’t look all that good imo
@@Xwx_Snow_xwXI know I’m late don’t know if you’re still looking for an answer but including the looks part that a lot of people light it’s also typically a lot lighter in weight, weight reduction never hurts
If you have a ecoboost High Proformance you already have a few of these things. Magneride and exhaust oh and a bigger Turbo
I got the Ford Performance by Borla touring cat-back installed on my new EB today. The system sounds way better in person. Great choice.
Do you still like it ?
@@REALJayDOTWill I've had the Borla Atak catback on my 2018 for 2 years now, it sounds great and still love it. Added the mishimoto downpipe and its just far to loud for a residential neighbourhood not to mention absolute heatscore when your rippin.
Is it better than the MBRP Race series?
1. Catch can (driver), 2. Tires, 3. Strut tower brace, 4. Tune, 5. Mbrp street exhaust
I feel like it isn’t talked about enough. My car was tuned on the Unleashed tune and my engine blew. No fault of AM. Just a warning to those who purchase the tune. The stock block is just not prepared for huge hp gains. It isn’t guaranteed to happen but it IS a possibility.
What mods did you have on?
Something was wrong in fuel, or defective part had to be the issue. A stock block can take double the rated horsepower or more..... These 2.3 blocks took 800+ hp.in the early 90's i am sure they are even stronger now.
I was on an unleashed 91 tune for 5 thousand miles after putting it on my 2019 ecoboost auto, no problems at all. I did recently switch to PDTuning recently because I was concerned.
BigSeanyR Turbosmart BOV, tomei expreme exhaust, and if you wanna call it a mod, swapped out spark plugs. All shop installed parts.
drtb69 I have heard mixed responses on this idea that the stock block can support that kind of hp. Adam over at tuneplus vouches for the rebuilt engine holding up to 500hp+. Even MAperformance had an eco project car and they had to stop modding because it was only a matter of time for an engine failure.
For my wife's Ecoboost which is used as more of a weekend "grand tourer" (aka jump in on a sunday and do an all day drive somewhere) and an occasional daily driver , I didn't do anything with the suspension or rims, did the Magnaflow Competion exhaust, Ford perfomance tune and open airbox, Ford Performace strut tower brace (did seem to tighten the car up although I fully realize it would benefit more with non stock suspension but I liked the way it looks) and because the prop rod annoyed me I put in hood struts. A big one not mentioned here but I felt was important was a catch can.
that color is sick
Keep in mind, those tunes may kill your factory warranty (esp. if you blow a turbo). And yes, dealers can scan your car and find that you had it done even if you "undo it" after your drivetrain craps out on you.
Can i add and exhaust with factory warranty??
@@TheByrdman706 Their is a law (forget the name of it) that doesn't allow manufacturers to void your warranty if you do a mod IF it does not effect the part needing repair. For example, if you tune your car, and your power locks crap out on you, the dealer would have to honor the warranty as that mod. has nothing to do with your power locks. Upgrading your exhaust system is a grey area, my best advice is contact your local dealer (by email if possible) and ask them if putting a new exhaust system would effect your powertrain warranty.
As someone who has a 2020 SUV paid off. I'm ready to get a fun weekend car as a secondary car. Really thinking about getting this bad boy.
Very excited to get my Ecoboost this fall. Will be in Twister Orange, of course 😎
Awesome bro. Just don't think of removing the catalytic converter. Not good sound. A friend of mine did it and regret it.
Congrats on the new EcoBoost! Hopefully we can help you out with some mods soon! -Zach
Why not a 5.0?
SMD some people like the look and just don’t need the 8. Plus insurance, and gas savings. Nothing wrong with EcoBoost with 310hp, 350tq. That’s an upgrade over the 3.7 V6 they used to have
Samuel James seriously 310 horsepower is plenty. People don’t realize how much power this thing has compared to a 90s Mustang. This thing would’ve been a super car back then lol.
All you need is , intercooler , drop in filter , spark plugs , PD tune or tune plus.
My 2018 MT82 ecoboost has the following light mods: Cobb stage 1+ (CAI and Cobb Accessport with OTS stage 1 tune), custom cat back exhaust, strut tower brace, and hood struts. Oh, and a white cue ball shifter, of course 😂
All of my parts have been purchased from American Muscle. My first 5 were as follows - 1. Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs 2. MBRP Race Cat Back Exhaust 3. Ford Performance Calibration 4. Ford Performance hood struts 5. Airaid Cold Air Intake. Finished the car off with a set of Rovos wheels, Mickey Thompson tires and a PowerStop brake kit and my Ecoboost is awesome!
Is it legal to change the exhaust in Texas?
@@FightNightClip yes it is...👍
I have put in so far
1. a roush cold air intake dry filter
2nd a turbo smart BOV
3rd nitto nt555 g2 tires
4th tomei titanium single out put exhaust cat back
And a bunch of small interior and exterior mods such as tail lights side marker lights front turn signals all smoked lens except the tail lights those are clear looks way better in clear in my opinion but so much more is done but so much more I want to do lol
Got a 2017 ecoboost last year in Oct. 900 miles. First change was fuel sensor. Second was engine cross brace. Third was a catch can. Fourth will be Ford cold air intake and tune. I like my 19 inch rims and stance, so no change there. Beyond that, ?????.
Sounds like next is an exhaust and maybe some nice tires! -Zach

This is also one of my dailys over 5k mileage I am thinking of getting some great suspension and replacing my stock brakes any suggestions or recommendations?
The best Ecoboost tuner is PurpleDrank hands down without a question. They offer LIFETIME tunes, Methanol tunes, pop tunes, & turbo upgrade tunes. I was making 420whp/420wtq with my 2017 ecoboost on the NX2 running Methanol. Recently swapped to MAPerformane's big turbo kit and shooting for just a little more power. PurpleDrank prefers Cobb Access Port but I believe SCT is also now supported by them. Ryan from PurpleDrank is also known as the EcoBoost Whisperer 🤘🏼🤙🏽.
Sounds healthy man- enjoy! -Justin
@@americanmuscle thank you Justin 🙏🏽
when I picked my stang I bought progressive springs and new rims and tires then a cat back.. lessons learned ,progressive springs are horrible for performance, cat backs drone like crazy at 60-70MPH and ended up junking them both for a full exhaust and linear springs - much happier . Hood struts are a must, catch can too and for an ECO def needs tunes but I own a GT so I added a SC
i got a stock mustang ecoboost what should i get i have the catback with ypipe race version what should i get next any suggestions?
@@sethsanchez9616 I have no info on EcoBoosts...I would check with the Ecoboost peeps
Start with a professional chip tuning I mean that kind that doesnt bypass the safe mechanism that controls the heat in the engine/transmission/differential. You may not have full power of 340 hp available all the time ( hence the ecoboost ) but on the other hand, your reliability is compromised to almost zero. Most modern engine such as this 2.3 litre can take huge amount of power, what they cannot withstand for longer periods of time is heat damage. I'd still recommend lowering the oil change interval with manufacturers recommended brand ( 5.4 litres ) and an oil filter for your inner peace but try not to overthink it.
Well that’s a some good advice thanks I don’t understand much but I’m learning
Where can you get one?
Love those carbon fibre steel tips lol
Aren't they sharp?? Thanks for watching! -Zach
Is it legal to change the exhaust in Texas?
@@FightNightClip i live here, and have never heard of it being illegal. But i do say to research before

Rovos Rims are named after cities here in South Africa 😂
They are WHEELS not rims and what's so funny about the name?
@@AutoYoung lmao you sound like youre fun at parties. bro relax. Hes just making an observation
@@lawlezzninja9916
Relax? Where was i aggressive? I just asked a question...
@@AutoYoung you come off aggressive stating that they're called WHEELS when they're called both WHEELS and RIMS. Thats why I said you were aggressive.
@@lawlezzninja9916
So giving someone the correct terminology is aggressive? People are that damn sensitive these days. And just because people call a thing something doesn't make it right. The rim is a part of the ENTIRE wheel. Just like the rim of a glass or bowl.
Dyno a HPP EcoBoost and then tune it so we can see the difference from a regular EcoBoost to a Hpp EcoBoost
I have a 2020 EcoBoost HPP. The biggest difference is the HPP has a lot longer power curve due to the slightly bigger turbo.
CAI, Intercooler, Catless DP, Exhaust, Tune
First Five for performance, no doubt! 👍🏼 -Justin
I like how they call the Micky Thompson tire a summer and not to drive in winter anytime soon. Guess I'm lucky, here in Phoenix you can drive the tires 12months a year! lol 😛
Absolutely lucky! They wouldn't be too helpful over here in the northeast during winter. 😅 -Zach
Pardon my noobness but, summer tire is mostly about rain and snow and doesn't have anything to do with ambient temperature?
For example, if it's 15° out but dry are summer tires appropriate?
@@domesticatedape4378 Don't care. All's I know here summer tires are all season tires! Lol
I wish I could get a flat answer from you guys in regards to fitting the Magnaflow Competition GT Active Exhaust to an Ecoboost with Active Exhaust. No one makes a kit that works with stock hardware (Magnaflow has been teasing a Ecoboost AE setup for months now), outside of Magnaflow and it only says it works on a GT. All I care about is "Does it fit?" It being 3" instead of the stock 2.25 or aftermarket 2.5 isn't an issue, I already planned on getting everything for in between custom anyways since no one makes 3" Y and mid pipes.
I love the continuity..lol get some good hood struts, next shot, sitting next to prop bar! I know I know its different clips put together.
I got the performance package and the active exhaust, along with roush cold air intake. Will get the tuner for it in future.
Sounds like a solid plan! Thanks for watching! -Zach
I got the 2020 Mustang GT🇺🇸
PSYCHED FOR YOU
The exhaust I bought advertised a mild tone but after install it is WAAAYYYY too loud so I'll be keeping the 3 inch piping but switching to borla axle back to replace the mufflers
Why does this Mustang have chrome window trim?
God loves you guys!
My 2020 HPP First mods are the GT350R brembo brakes, rims, tires & axles, and lowering springs (unfortunately I can't recall the manufacturer)
Any exhaust recommendations with the active exhaust?
Is there a penalty for exceeding 5 mods 🤭 thanks for the lightning fast shipping and amazing install vids to help me wake up my Ecobeast 😎
Haha- glad we could help Dan! -Justin
How about a Precision turbo 5258 adds up to 520hp and a intercooler Custom Piping and a full downpipe and exhaust there's several companies out there in the after market that can make a ecoboost faster than a stock GT the difference between the Precision Turbo and the stock turbo the stock Turbo S always has pressure on the cylinder head of the engine the Precision turbo does not which relieves stress on the engine
Guys is there a video on how to correctly adjust the Turbo smart BOV? id like to see this for reference
Surprised you guys didn’t suggest updating the cold air intake 🤔
305 wide tires in the back seems a little large for an ecoboost to me. I feel like it would be better to save money and weight with something narrower
Do a video for the V6
100% disagree on the Vacuum Bov. GFB makes a metal conversion valve and you keep the electric hook up which is much faster and reliable then Vacuum
Probably the best looking color for the mustang, was only available in 2015 i guess? ( not seeing it on the 17/18/19/20/21....)
That is a beautiful car.
Can you put mustang caps on the wheels?
Love the stance
Ok these mods are for the older Ecoboost Mustangs. What about the mods for the lastest more powerful Ecoboost Mustangs? Such as the standard Ecoboost and the High Performance one?
They’re all applicable 👍🏼. -Justin
@@americanmuscle Thanks Justin!
Wait, I thought eco boost mustangs came stock with 310 HP?
Me too
I’m looking at getting either a 2019 mustang ecoboost or a 2010-2014 v6 or v8 mustang or a 2015-2017 v6 Camaro What would you recommend? My budget is 20k but would like to stay closer to 10 or 15k. I want something fun that sounds good but gets decent gas mileage and is reliable.
That’s a v6 in the video so on an actual eco boost would all these mods be the same for the ecoboost?
I kinda regret getting my eco boost and not getting a GT
I've had my Eco for three years now and I have enjoyed every minute of it. As a previous V8 owner ('69 Roadrunner with 383, '69 Charger with 440, '71 Mustang with 351, and 72 Malibu with 307) I wanted to try something different. So far, zero regrets.
I have a 69 F250 with a 390 and Holly 2bbl I get around 14 mpg on the freeway and around 10/11 citi if I'm lucky ...A 5.0 with stage 1 stage 2 mods with your foot in it all the time would be a equal MPG comparison , I like my oldie but it's a weekend warrior no way it could be my only ride I would go broke .
I could go out for a day 1/2 a day and need gas ⛽ that vintage muscle in the 60"s /70"s small block had around 275 HP the eco has over 300 HP with 20 MPG for a daily fun around spirited driver I would pick the eco ....
The GT is great but does cost more initially, per fill up, and insurance.
I think you should have mentioned if you go by an aftermarket tuner you may void the warranty! Ford has a tuner and if installed by Ford Performance it wont void ;your warranty. This is a very important fact to leave out?
I think an intercooler would have been helpful to have since you included a tune. First mods for my 2015 ecoboost were:
JLT Catch can(driver side)
NGK one step colder spark plugs(to dissipate heat better)
CVF intercooler
Flowmaster outlaw exhaust
CVF downpipe
COBB AP
MAPerformance CAI
Intercooler is a solid recommendation for folks who are more performance oriented. I just wanted to give a well rounded mix that included something for everyone. 👍🏼 -Justin
@@americanmuscle Understandable, thanks to this video I'm actually looking into lowering springs now. The stance on that mustang is far better than stock.
Why people do not respect factory suspension is nuts. Add power not a lower suspension that destroys daily drivability. Upgrade the engine and exhaust not the suspension first. Cars ride like crap with lowered suspension. Dont be a stand boy, be a mo power baby.
I thought Ford advertised about 300 plus horsepower on the stock Ecoboost.
They do! To the crank, that power doesn't make its way to the tires though due to drivetrain loss. -Zach
How much do these wheels weigh vs stock? Visually, they're way too big. Make the brakes look like bottlecaps. This desk-racer says "Unsprung weight can suck it!"
Very helpful
My aftermarket exhaust already hits speed bumps without lowering it an Inch so I've skipped that mod personally
Ate the corsa xtremes cat back back in stock
I have a question?
My Mustang ecoboost 2017 .
If I bought a tuner adding the horse power will that burn out the engine faster over time ? Than keeping it stock.
Is it legal to change the exhaust in Texas?
looks to me that the mustang is a V6 in the video going off emblem on truck and it hurt my OCD lol
You guys don’t carry those rovos anymore?
Is it just me or the tires looks like 19” and not 20”?
Going through the suggested videos for the 2015 - 17 Eco's, I found out that the BORLA downpipe is no longer available on the AM site. It was in the reccy build video that Stephanie had done back in 2016. Is there a downpipe + exhaust setup that will give the same results (113hp + 100tq) with the tune?
sorry but the Mustang eco should have been the 3.5L twin turbo eco from the F150. but i get it, nobody would have bought the 5.0 if ford offered that!
The six generation just started, who knows maybe Ford could surprise us… Maybe not.
Hey man, I just bought a 2016 mustang eco boost. Thinking of what I can done first. What do you think I should do first if I want my car to be louder?
Downpipe, exhaust… but also change the intake system
1st Mod? Get rid of the hood rod. 2nd Mod, pedal enhancer. Its like a cheap supercharger.
Does Pedal boosters ready work?
@@Kamal_AL-Hinai yes, I had it on my 2009 Cobalt LT and currently have it on my 2007 Explorer. It makes the car/truck feel more zippy and more eager to accelerate, its like the sport button on modern cars but with the difference that you can adjust how aggressive you want it.

yes on ceramic tinting. what a diff. having that and living in the desert.
Question. When changing out your down pipe. There's catted and non-catter [forgive the spelling]
Does your choice effect the check engine light statues?
What's the benefits of either or?
From what I’ve gathered, non-catted are illegal in the us, as we are required to have cat converters here. However many European countries don’t require these so I think that’s why there are options for the setup without the cat.

Can you put a focus RS 2.5 5cilinder in a 2.3 mustang?
Maybe but won't pass em
I recently bought a 2020 EcoBoost High Performance Pack. As you know there are a lot of differences between it and a regular EcoBoost Mustang. Doesn't even have the same 2.3 engine. Since it already has a bunch of upgrades from the factory, (HPP), what do you recommend to make it better?
I have the same question Michael ? Most of the videos and articles on EcoBoost mods ignore the HPP, I have a 2021. Mine also has the handling pack so suspension mods are not on my list of things to do at the moment. I would however like a bit more power but safely.
