    Proud owner of a silver 2016 EcoBoost Premium here. Bought the car from an Acura dealer for $20k w/ 29k miles back in April 2021 and I absolutely LOVE it. I just came back from a week-long 2,000 mile road trip and I didn't have a single issue with it. I've taken it as far north as Maine, as far south as North Carolina, and as far west as Michigan. Just crossed over 62k miles on the odo coming back home. I did also purchase the Ford PremiumCare extended service plan for 6yrs/72k miles (little over $2k) because I knew I'd be driving this for a while.
    The only issues I've had with it thus far:
    - Cosmetics: the hood has had a small oxidization defect on the front lip since I bought it, and the rims had some scars also (totally fine because I've added some by accident too)
    - It did crap out on me once right outside my office, ended up being vacuum relay sensor or something odd (warranty fix)
    - Another weird sensor issue that didn't affect the drivability (again, warranty)
    - The heated/vented seats gave out due to a common issue with a wiring pin frying (yet again, warranty)
    - I did recently replace the crappy factory 2-piece lugnuts for the wheels because they finally swelled and were difficult to get off
    It's had little electrical hiccups here and there like most cars, but in terms of the mechanics, it's been shockingly and pleasantly reliable. It's a super comfortable car to drive, very quick, very nimble, has a shockingly large trunk for all my stuff when I go away (I buy/sell/trade antiques and license plates when I go on road trips)... truly can't say enough great things about it! I have zero intentions of selling this car until my life situation changes.

      I have a low pitch race exhaust on my 2020 premeir with cold air intake and a downpipe with blowoff valve with a tune and people can't believe it's a 4 cylinder. There are a lot of mods, yes, but that low pitch catted exhaust with downpipe made all the difference with the cold air intake.

    People whine all that and this about this car rather than being thankful for it not going all electric

    I’ve been driving my 2018 eco boost since it came out, I love everything about it except how unsafe it feels when the roads are slick (when it’s about to rain or when it just finished raining) The front of the car is extremely long and the back is so light it just dances. It’s extremely scary and never accelerate on a turn unless you want to hydroplane.

      Never been stranded in 6 years and I’ve put 72,000 miles on it (no mods)

      Does the traction control system not work well on these vehicles? I'm in a dilemma between a 2.3 and a 5.0 but I thought they weren't as difficult to drive as long as you're cautious and not flooring it on turns

      @rowceo 20 дней назад +1

      @@VILLAINAIRE I wouldn’t be able to say for sure as I am no expert but I believe it also has to do with the weight distribution of the vehicle but the traction control does not feel as great as in other cars. But yes as long as you don’t drive crazy it is a great handling car.

      @@VILLAINAIRE the only 5.0 I’ve driven is an older model so I wouldn’t be able to compare it to the newer 5.0’s

    What I dislike about the current ecoboost is that it doesnt even come with shifters. May as well be an average car

    I disagree with the 1st, I'm building out a 2024 eco and with the active valve it actually sounds pretty good for a little 4 banger. Gonna throw a bypass valve adapter on there to get that turbo sound and I think it'll sound amazing.
