So I’m usually not a big fan of stuff that gets a lot of radio play, but every now and then a song like THIS one comes along and I just CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF IT. In case you haven’t heard the original: ruclips.net/video/pBkHHoOIIn8/видео.html
So as I clearly live in a vacuum I'd never heard the song until now, so thank you for the introduction to it! The original is certainly fab, but obviously the Pomp version kicks more sixty sixes than anything else ever could. Especially the amaze vocal arrangement/performance. And the mid-chorus1 bass fill. 😍😍
I love you guys, will you be making any more layered things? I miss the old pomplamoose where the cuts and layers really made it feel totally different. Just a different energy.
@@shandm Whoa, I just had deja vu. I remember this happening (e.g., a major popular artist commenting on a youtube video that is a cover of their song) and then someone asking if it's really *them.*
The thing I really like about his playing is the sense of smoothness. It's still crazy fast and often really interesting runs, but it stays in the groove as he does these unexpected and awesome things.
Yes, indeed... Nick Campbell is now on my list of great bass players. The ease he exhibits is extraordinary. The tone is awesome, too. I started noticing his contribution on "Bulletproof" and his playing just keeps getting more interesting.
I've been following them for a number of years..I'm an old B-3 guy..73..been around and seen it all..why, Van Halen and Petty used to open for me..no joke..Leonid and Friends..Pomplamoose...two of my real favorites..great players...soulful..precise..neat...clean and lots of attention to detail..all my requirements met in these two great acts...
@@brettrabideau4632 oddly I was thinking about "Dance To the Music" during the drive near the end. Nick. Bass walking . Goodness. My face was just like Jack's. >_
Well shit man, thanks for pointing that out. I always get so transfixed on Nick Campbells' bass playing, I didn't notice. But listening again, man that was an epic outro of drums, rolling around the kit like epic thunder. Awesome!
It never fails, every time this song starts playing somewhere I think it's some new cover of Please Mr. Postman, then I have to readjust when I realize it's Feel it Still. I go on that roller coaster pretty much every time I hear the chorus.
Again, what a band! Great vox! Nick is my hero, though. He plays a figure around the 1:25 mark that I can't even imagine playing. Oy! I would seriously love to see that run notated. Even watching, I don't believe that anyone could replicate it! Wow...
I love everything about everything about everything about every body in this group, especially the way 'she' sometimes looks you straight in the eyes like she's talkin' to YOU.....and don't you dare even dare breathe!
Somehow this song bumps your music to another level for me. You are my favorite group. Love the format of a one-take live performance. I feel the energy and emotion, and it moves me. Thanks for the hard work and commitment, it shows.
Absolutely impeccable bass line! Not that I'd have any clue how one would pecc a bass line; even relatively. I+++'d elaborate, but I urgently have to go and hit "replay" right now. Those extraneous plusses are from sweating droplets of excitement onto my touchscreen keyboard. I'm leaving it. REPLAY NOW!
this is a fantastic cover! in case you want to play this yourself, and you're wondering about the nice intro/outro before the main progression (Cm Ebm Fm Cm) starts, it goes like this: G7/B Cm | Fm/Ab Cm/G | Fm/Ab Cdim/A | Bb G7/B |
How have I NOT stumbled on you guys before now? Silver lining to every cloud... I've now got 172 brilliant tracks to catch up on! LOVE your groove.... pure, unadulterated musicianship.
I'm proud of you for having French for a foreign language, however it takes away from your real singing talent! Just my opine?? maybe I'm alone with my take?
I have never heard of you wonderful souls until a day ago when I was browsing around on RUclips. I first saw you both on this one video featuring KO from Pentatonix. That’s what caught my eye. My goodness, I’m so very happy that I did! What an amazing and awesomely talented couple! I’m addicted to your music, I have already listened to 30 songs back to back and I have subscribed to your channel 🥰😍 Much love to you Jack and Nataly!! All the Best to you both! ❤️💋❤️💋
Don't get me wrong, I really love every aspect of Pomplamoose, but damn the bass guy is really bringing life to each song every time, a real proper lad!

This was my favourite song of 2017 (still right near the top of my favourites list) so, as good as you guys are, I was sceptical. You rocked it of course. Awesome.
I feel like I’ve been missing out on life for only recently having discovered y’all. Pomlamoose, you boogie so hard it defies belief. And that voice? Straight knockout.
you guys are fucking insane. i love how jack always has a stank face, and nataly doesnt even look like shes trying but she sounds amazing?? mega props to the bassist and guitarist, and of course the two backup singers!! you all rock, and give me hope for what music is to come
I think I've seen nearly all your videos. Keep 'em comin'! We need a track of your awesome grooves... then afterward, a separate video of just Jack's face - so loaded with attitude. He's so intense, I love it!

Grooves so hard. Bass player is playing out of his mind.
dude is seriously legendary lol.
That bass line at 1:25
If you like bass go check out Vulfpeck. Joe Dart is out of this world.
Both Sam Wilkes and Nick Campbell are on his level. Amazing bassists.
The thing I really like about his playing is the sense of smoothness. It's still crazy fast and often really interesting runs, but it stays in the groove as he does these unexpected and awesome things.
I love every bit of this, but have to call out Nick Campbell for some of the best bass playing ever.
Yes, indeed... Nick Campbell is now on my list of great bass players. The ease he exhibits is extraordinary. The tone is awesome, too. I started noticing his contribution on "Bulletproof" and his playing just keeps getting more interesting.
Oh, yeah. I had to go back for another listen to Bulletproof. That was some James Jamerson level playing.
Yeah, I’m a fan now. Wow!
Nick Campbell, I don’t know if you’ll ever read this, but I just want you to know that your playing fulfills me. I love the way you groove!

More like something out of a Pink Floyd record, no?

Very nice dissonances at 2:32. Gets the harmonics another step further! Great!
This is the hookiest hookie part in the whole hookie song, and I'm hooked.
I wasn't ready for that part

Jack and his nasty music face. A highlight! Plus the song... intricate, jazzy, jiggy and bejeweled with Nataly on mic. Love it.
The world would be a much better place if we were all as happy as Jack Conte is when he plays keys.

This studio series you guys have going on is my new favorite thing... just amazingly good!
from his face the keyboardist is really "FEELING IT STILL"
he is, truly, Peak Human.
for the record, hes married the singer, and this is his side gig, his main job is the CEO of Pateron.
I just love how every time i see one of these videos, the guy playin the keybord is always vibing SO hard

Such an intro for the song...This sustained voices with the chord progression in the background is pure magic!!
i love how everyone's just bopping. incredible vibes
My eyes always end up on Sarah.. she’s got the voice and the moves.. never stop Sarah…
The pockets were so deep that they opened up a groove wormhole back into the 70s

I believe it's Planet Funkatopia.
In the Groovia system.
From a bass base in Antarctica...
Planet Bassface Groovatron
He hails from Funkytown, a small town on the outskirts of Stankersville, the capital city of the planet B a s s.

It hardly chooses a style, but that's what's really good about it.
