    For anyone wondering why he is a little bit shocked in the video at the end-
    It is a particularly difficult part for the singer, because it quickly jumps large distances on the scale, and is done by a computer on the real song. Only the best singers in the world can nail this without auto-tune.
    It's basically the equivalent of watching a guitar player nailing the guitar solo in Freebird. It's amazing to see in real life.

    • @benodaboy
      @benodaboy Год назад +18

      calling it computer generated isa bit unfair. its a talk box, basically someone plays a synthisiser, and as theyre playing the notes live, the sound is played out of a special speaker box with a tube. that tube goes back up into the players mouth and they mouth the words, using their palate to create a vicelike tone, while playing the notes on the synth. - but yeah she's impressive

    • @justingilbone6386
      @justingilbone6386 Год назад +12

      @@benodaboy You're describing what Peter Frampton used to do with his guitar.
      They did not use a tube in the mouth for this daft punk song. That's 70's technology.
      And the notes are not coming out of the person. they are coming out of the keyboard- therefore- computer generated.

    • @jdjk7
      @jdjk7 4 года назад +7

      @@birdsong2552 I would say you're probably right about fuzz into filter, but in my experience it doesn't sound quite like that. My best guess is that it's fuzz into filter with the filter running into another fuzz or distortion, because you still hear some hairiness within the filter sweeps. Filters generally clean up a lot of the hairiness of a dirt box.
      Or it's just some kind of digital weirdness.

    I had it down for over a decade between end of high school (peak of band skills) and and needing a song that took my concentration away from my first couple of jobs (that wasn't metal shouting/screaming that would tear up my voice).

    Also Jack's face on keys is everything. This needs to be a silhouette print on a shirt. 10/10 would purchase!

    This is by far the most creative cover I've seen yet. Though the funk jazz cover I spotted was also pretty good this one is much more true to the source but still unique.

    Anybody else jealous of the dude on keys? After a successful internet start up just hang out with your gorgeous talented wife and your homies in the band dropping Daft Punk tracks all day.

      @@thebosshu no... he really doesn't. He's a smirking neoliberal fraudster who's in the middle of getting 8-or-more-figures of comeuppance, for violating terms of service that, at the time of your posting, his company tried to rewrite to retroactively protect themselves for breaking their own rules, and he also tries to gaslight people into thinking 34¢ is 5% of $1.29. I can't wait until he's focusing on his music again.

      @@SurfintheHighway no, just benefiting from a system by which major labels pick-and-choose which artists to screw over by pretending their covers aren't transformative.
      They're screwing over the NEXT Daft Punk, or Lewis Black, or Christopher Hitchens, and that's worse.
