Riding out a Snowstorm in a Truck Camper in Alaska

- Waiting for a blizzard to pass in a cozy homemade truck camper. The truck house is a great place to stay cozy no matter what kind of snowstorm, extreme cold extreme wind hits. The wood stove makes this tiny cabin on wheels feel like home no matter where I'm at or how crazy things get.

There's something so calming about riding out bad weather all huddled down in a small shelter
Call that bad weather try 8 feet of snow lake affect snow lake Ontario, 2022. Edit this is the most likes I’ve ever gotten
Fort Erie Ontario and Buffalo NY, but just 40 km's away nothing but a dusting...
Yeah it's warm and cozy in there!
Depends where that thing is parked. Can’t imagine you can keep much wood in it, and 4x4 only gets you so far in deep snow

That looks like the most cozy setting imaginable.
Have you gotten laid in there yet? Babe magnet.
Cozy yes for a day or two 😆😆😆😆

Yep, my luck a polar bear would bust the door in 😮

What about oxygen deprivation you have an open flame inside is that using up your oxygen supply? If it is the bear will find a bright red entrée ready for is dining pleasure! 🥩🖕🏽💩💩💩👻🗯
Nothing beats the silence of snow fall
Yes, that’s what I miss the most…
When I was working as a Police Officer I loved when it snowed while I was on midnights ( as long as it wasn't busy ) you could really enjoy the beauty & silence .
Ocean water rolling onto the beach trumps that imo, and there's no clean up with the ocean water.
@@eugenelopez5288 it’s gorgeous man
I love when it snows really heavy at night and no one is outside. It's so peaceful.
It's also great when it's late night and all the neighbors are out shoveling snow and we take turns with snowblowers doing driveways and parking spots.❤❤❤
That is AMAZING! Looks super well built, every edge is rounded - beautiful!
It just looks so cozy for 2 people who get along

No matter your financial situation, if you really want this, you can have it, at some point in your life.
You know you can.
Wow, crazy weather. Cool truck house 🏠
It amazing how little it takes to keep a small place warm. I lived 10 years in a 22ft motorhome and all it took was 2 kerosene lamps to light and heat it.
I'm literally shivering in a pop up camper right now and I always liked it a little chilly to sleep but this is hard.
Im wearing a hat, cabin sock (not as warm as wool but close), warm pants, and a hoodie with an electric blanket and 2 other blankets on top and Im still cold. My son is handling it better than me he has wool socks though. We also have a cat.
@@TheOfficialTarynTotsi found that when I didnt have a lot to eat, I was always cold. At one point when starving, even 90 deree weather eas cold.
Make sure to eat lots if you can! Calories bring lots of warmth, although they won't solve everything alone, I hope it does help if you can. Just make sure to have lots of fuel to burn!
@TheOfficialTarynTots hopefully your situation is by choice, (camping) and not by necessity, (the economy) . - Surry Virginia
@@IyoMiyo Thanks. Idk heing hungry made it worse. I will try to eat when I possible.
@@vincentrusso4332 It's not intentional. We had some storms here in Michigan and lightning knocked out the power to the house. When it came back on only part of the house worked and we called the electrician. Not too long after he left my son figured out we had an electrical fire in the attic and got us all out in time. We had to leave the house that night and bc there was no power we had flooding that ruined almost everything I owed. It was both my parents (in their 80s and Mama dementia) along with one of my brothers who was Mama's caretaker along with my son and myelf who were renting that house for 14 yrs. The owner decided boot us out without giving us back our deposit and even is demanding rent for the time we were even allowed to be in the house while we were trying to save what stuff we could and put it into storage till we found another house to rent. The cost of what they want for deposit/rent is so high right now we cant come up with the money. So my brother and parents squeezed into my oldest brother's tiny house but not enough room for my son and myself. Im physically disabled and it is so hard just to make the trek inside to go pee. I do have an emergency potty chair near the camper but I would rather hold it in till I bust than to be see by the neighbors going pee outside. Its been hard to try to keep up with the cost for propane for the camper and we are scared we wont wake up one morning since the Co2 alarm went off last week. If only we could come up with enough money to for deposit and first and last we could scrape by but we cant come up with the money. We are even struggling for food. My Daddy is a vet who is 89 yrs old and desperately wants to go back to work but cant until he gets his hips surgery. A friend set up a gofundme for our fanily but the people we have always been friends with and helped aren't helping. I would understand if my friends couldn't afford to help at all but some of them are doing quite well but won't even return a text. (I think they're worried we would ask for help so they have been avoiding us).
I could understand not wanting to help us if we were stingy people but we were struggling with our used appliance store that my Daddy opened in 61 after he got out of the army because we would help people who couldn't afford to buy appliances and we were the only ones I knew of that still delivered to Detroit when covid was going on. We all also helped with different charities throughout the years. I didn't have much money after I got sick so I volunteered my time until I wasn't physically able to anymore. I naively thought that when people saw we were in need of help that people would. Daddy said most people wont and that was why he always did more. I guess you can say Im kinda disappointed. I dont care if I have to freeze out here but my parents don't deserve to have to be struggling for food and my son deserves to be in a warm place with our cat. I hate to admit it but I have been thinking of just sending my son to his friends house for a night and I put the cat inside while I keep the heat on as warm as I want it without vent it in here. That way they would be able to come up with the money to get on their feet. It would be the only way I could help save my family. Im disabled and useless and I can't bare to see them all suffering.
Sorry I wrote so much. I guess I just needed to vent.
I hate when a video is too short for the content. We need to know more about your cute little home on wheels. That is very nice.

Where can I purchase a Kimberly stove?
W0uld love to be there in my rv doing same knowing someone was around
Pretty soon we will be able to fill orders with the Kimberly 2.0.

I am not an outdoorsman never ever roughed it anywhere never been without a formal dwelling. I tell you what that stove is impressive. I like to see alternative dwellings in vehicles, unconventional dwellings. Just seen an impressive video of a man unhoused living outside in a comfortable dwelling he made from scrap & lived there 3 years. He had an inverter battery pack, he had propane 2 burner stove. Had food & he works. Now days you have to think outside the box to be able to thrive & survive the harsh realities of life
Well you certainly are a Boring Fellow. I love adventurous men . Now get out there & hunt man. 💃🏾🥱🥱🥱🥱🇵🇷
I can do without snow, glad that at least one other understands that some of us prefer a warmer life.❤

There is plenty of wood in Alaska the problem is keeping a good supply of dry wood lol. But you are right hopefully he has a healthy supply of wood when he takes that thing out because it would def be hard to dry wet wood with that small furnace he has

the fact you managed to make enough space to have this on the back of a truck while having some room inside is awesome ^^
When its snowy and cold outside, but you are snug and warm under the covers, a crackling fire.... there is no better sleep in the entire world then that.
As a boy i lived in northern Michigan... we had two stone fireplaces to heat our house, spent most of my summers helping my dad Chop wood to dry for winter. Crazy how it was only about 30 years ago, but it seems like a whole nother time period all together.
I live in the South now... but i still remember the smell of the woodsmoke in the morning, outside was crisp, clean and covered in an icy sheen, the wood crackling in the fireplace. My dad reading the newspaper drinking his coffee, adjusting his glasses..... I miss that sometimes...
One of my favorite drives, when the weather is decent. It is unbelievable mountain scenery!
In S.Korea in '63 7th Infantry Division, we slept on the ground in sleeping bags on an air mattress in the winter. Just as cozy. Body heat kept us warm through the night. Can't beat those Army sleeping bags. Had to strip off clothes but kept them inside the bag so they'd stay warm too. When Vietnam came along in '65 a whole different world emerged. Nice video.
