@@PackingLess Sure did! It's the exact same colour I had my eye on as well. Curious as to why they decided to make the strap different only on the Midnight though.
Thank you for this video it was really helpful! I watched it a few times then the 6L and yet I still ended up sending it back for the 9L nightsky - it seemed like the perfect size for a camera similar size to yours, but I wouldn't have been able to get it in and out of a packed bag quickly without dislodging things.
Yeah I think the 9L is probably best to most things. I've recently been enjoying the 4L lite sling from bellroy but its capacity is not enough for a camera really
@@PackingLess I have a black venture and just sent back a nightsky due to the difficulty in adjusting the strap. The nightsky uses a much thicker webbing which makes it much more difficult to slide the adjusters. In contrast, the black (and colors) use a thinner version of webbing which is more comfortable and most importantly, thinner. This allow the adjuster to slide much more freely when you need to lengthen/shorten the strap.
Thanks for such a comprehensive comparison. It helped me really see the differences between the two sizes. Sadly I still can’t decide which way to go. ;) #manybagproblems
So here's the thing - I'm off on a holiday and looking to purchase an EDC to hold various small items including a Fujifilm X100V, small water bottle, and glasses. I purchased the Bellroy Venture Sling 6L and think it looks great but is a bit smaller than I imagined tbh considering the 6L size mark. For example, the Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L camera bag - yes 3L - (superbly made also) has almost the EXACT same dimensions, looks able to store pretty much exactly the same amount of items and is extremely well crafted with comparable weather resistance etc - BUT quite a bit cheaper. Why is the Bellroy so much more expensive and named 6L, when the Peak Design of the same size is 3L ??????? Is there something odd going on???
Hi! I have the 3L Peak Design and I'm also considering getting the Bellboy 6L or 9L. So, I want more space because I find the Peak Design too bulky for its eternal storage. So, what you're saying is the PD 3L and the Bellroy 6L have similar internal space?
Besides my Fuji X-T30 with a small lens, I also need to fit in additional personal stuff, which just won't fit on the PD3L. A small water bottle is also a big plus!
Which would you opt for as your everyday carry sling? The 6L or 9L. On the fence…I’m planning to carry around the obvious: Keys, Wallet, Phone, Portable charger, Gum, Chapstick, Hand sanitizer, Mask, and AirPods. Not sure if using the 9L to carry just that stuff is overkill or if it’ll be worth it on days when I travel and bring a larger item like a water bottle, kindle, Nintendo switch, umbrella, or rain jacket, dslr camera etc. Thoughts on if I should get the 9 or 6L would be great :)
The good thing about this design is that it 'flattens' or compresses when you pack less in it, so it does feel more manageable with less in it (both of them have this compressive feature due to the strap design). I personally prefer the 9L because it carries more items and is more versatile. The 6L barely fits a full size pen in the pen slot because its not as tall. The 9L also has enough room for all those extra things you mentioned, whereas the 6L really couldn't carry much more if you did want to pack more.
Yeah I know what you mean, you might consider the 'Lite sling' too which is also 6L but a more lightweight material and slightly cheaper although also slightly less internal organization
@@PackingLess tried the Lite, disliked the fabric and the design. Quickly got lumpy. I've also got better light slings (Dsptch sling for one). Just need to sell my Bellroy 7l and grab the venture 6l
Great video! I'm only starting to look at slings and would love to see a comparison between the Venture Sling 6L and the Sling Lite 7L, on the paper the lite seems similar but lighter, more packable and cheaper 🤔
I'd love to compared those bags, I have already returned the 6L though. From what Ive seen about the Lite 7L though is that the material is really no where near as substantial as the Venture series. And theres less pockets and less organization and due to the lack of padding it gets bulky and packed feeling very quickly.
@@PackingLess reading this back, I recently realised that the Ecopak version of the Venture sling is 220g and with it being a "sail cloth" material it seems it's a sort of hybrid between the regular venture sling with the same organisation and the more lightweight, compressible sling lite (although it's also more expensive). I've pulled the trigger and bought one :)
The most reasonable EDC ever. I don't understand the big knives, flashlights, paracord bracelets. Do you live in the woods? Are you going to war? Wet wipes and pill holders all the way.
Haha yeah its actually illegal to carry a knife here, although I never would anyway. Wet wipes are one of the most useful travel items I carry though. Everyone always wants me to give them one when they see me use them
Great comparison, you have almost similar things I have as well. I was looking for a proper comparison with camera tuck in, I access that quite often out shooting with Fuji XT4. I think 6L works well however stressing the bag quite a lot (actually also happened to my previous bag), so this time I'm going with the 9L sling! Oh yeah, vapur bottle is cool, ordered that too! haha. Great videos you have in your channel.
Thank you, yes the vapur is great and packs up so small, people always ask what it is when I get it out too lol. Overall the 9L is the best for general purpose and camera, recently Ive been using the Lite sling from Bellroy to squeeze my sony a7c in with a small lens. No room for anything else though
Wonderful! I'm still a tad torn. The largest thing I see myself carrying would be an A5 notebook in a leather cover. Would an A5 hardcover notebook fit in the 6L? With a leather cover it comes to 9.25 inches by 6.5 inches. I am leaning toward the 9L because I imagine also wanting to carry a coffee thermos.
Personally the 9L doesnt even feel that much bigger than the 6L, so I would always suggest getting that if you ever want to carry a little more. The 6L always felt lacking in size to me whereas the 9L always felt just right.
could the 6L fit the camera and a tablet? im guessing the switch is a bit thicker than a tablet. im trying to fit my a6400 and a kindle paperwhite together. my camera could fit surprisingly in the bellroy lite sling mini rated 4L. couldnt fit it together with the kindle.
It might be possible, as you say, I could fit my Sony a7c with FE 20mm lens in the Lite 4L but adding a tablet might make it less feasible in the 6L I think
Have you tried using a camera insert in the 6L to put in a camera with lens along with an extra prime lens? Curious if you were aware of what inserts might work.
I dont think there would be much room in the 6L for an insert as it would get too bulky I think. Bellroy do now have a camera specific 10L version with padding dividers built in though if you wanted a more camera focused bag

Great video. I’ve got the Bellroy Mini Sling but it’s a little too small for my needs. This 6lt Ventura looks perfect. Regarding the strap, which one do find more comfortable?
Both straps are the same width and so both are the same comfort to me. The black version perhaps feels every so slightly more 'grippy' but in real world usage theres no real noticeable difference
I’ve had the 9L for a while and my biggest gripe is that the strap doesn’t cinch down tight enough to hold tight on my back when I’m on my bike. I’ve got a skinny torso, is the 6L able to tighten down any further?
Hey I no longer have that particular model so I cant test it and say for sure. But I would say the best way to have it tight on your back would be to look into some kind of 'stabiliser' strap, that can attach to the mid point of the strap and the middle of the bag, something like this www.military1st.com.au/h4-acs-sstp-blk-hazard-4-stabilizer-strap-for-slings-and-messengers-black.html
@@PackingLess I see. Really wanted to ask this since I like my pockets free most of the time. I love the venture line-up of slings, just wished there’s a dedicated pocket for phone or tablet, etc.
I have added a small field notes notebook in the back zippered pocket. I checked that large classic moleskin is 5" x 8.25" which would fit with room to spare in the 9L, and I think may squeeze into the 6L
si fuera solo para una cámara pequeña, estaría bien. Pero por lo general me gusta llevar más cosas además de mi cámara, así que la más grande me da más espacio para acomodar más cómodamente.
I wore it across the front quite often, I didnt feel it was too big but it depends how much you pack into it. The more packed it is the more it bulky out and becomes less comfortable across the chest
Just thinking if you are carrying all your valuables (wallet, phone and keys). It would need just a grab, slash with a razor and pull and they would be gone!

Any idea if the 6L will fit a 27oz Kleen Kanteen bottle (276.2 mm H x 72.5 mm W)? Thanks
Bellroy lists it as 295 x 170 x 88mm, and that bottle is about 276.2 mm H x 72.5 mm, I think it would be a tight fit
is the venture the only one out of all sling options to have all the internal pockets?
Do you mean within Bellroys line up? If so, yes I believe thats the case
would an ipad fit in the 9L?
I think it fits an ipad mini
It fits my iPad Pro 11" even with a magic keyboard case, just barely, but it does fit.
Helpful, thanks!
With the venture sling 6l, what is the best pocket to put your phone?
I keep my phone in my pants pocket but I think the front pocket on the sling would be good, or even the inner zippered pocket towards the back
@@PackingLess I see. Really wanted to ask this since I like my pockets free most of the time. I love the venture line-up of slings, just wished there’s a dedicated pocket for phone or tablet, etc.
Great comparison. I have the 9L. Quality EDC bag
Thanks, yes the 9L still remains me favourite
Can an iPad Pro11-inch fit in the Venture Sling 6L?
I dont think so, I saw people saying it was only barely able to fit the ipad pro 11 in the 9L and this 6L is shorter and so theres no way it would fit
Does nobody use a paper notebook any more! The only thing I want to know is if any slings fit a classic Moleskine!
I have added a small field notes notebook in the back zippered pocket. I checked that large classic moleskin is 5" x 8.25" which would fit with room to spare in the 9L, and I think may squeeze into the 6L
In your experience did you find that the 9L was too big for a chest pack?
I wore it across the front quite often, I didnt feel it was too big but it depends how much you pack into it. The more packed it is the more it bulky out and becomes less comfortable across the chest
@@PackingLess thankyou i ended up buying both haha
@@korbela3329 Good choice :D
@@korbela3329Which do you prefer as a chest pack? To wear with a back pack.
Hi there, thanks for the great review! I'm curious, which of these cases would be the best fit for my MX Keys Mini keyboard? Smalleris better for me.
You'd need the 9L because the 6L is 29.5cm wide and the keyboard is 29.6cm
Are the straps slash proof?
I dont think they advertise them as being slashproof
Just thinking if you are carrying all your valuables (wallet, phone and keys). It would need just a grab, slash with a razor and pull and they would be gone!
Honestly was expecting the cat food to be a cost-saving technique for food when travelling.
I suppose in an emergency situation... lol
Will iPad pro 11" fit on 6L?
No, because its not as tall as the 9L and I saw people say it only barely fits in the 9L
Отличный обзор!)
благодарю вас
I hesitade..; so i think take the the Bellroy Sling Lite :D
Good choice
These look nice, but beyond my current budget.
LOL @ the Nintendo Switch. Roman Reigns is coming to satisfy your wife.
