To make the process of opening up the air box super easy use a little oscillating saw with any trim blade on it. It literally cuts the air box like a hot knife through butter. It takes less than a minute to precisely cut along the entire line. If you don’t have one, they are $15 or so at Harbor Freight. I have a cordless DeWalt and it was oh so much easier and takes less time than it would to trace along the line with a marker.
hello I have a 2005 Crf450x with a 500cc big jug head, and yosh exhaust. I did all your recommended mods (cut the pink wire, air box mod, smog kit) and now im at the carb 1240 ft. above sea level. Should I run a 160 or 162 main jet , a 45 or 48 pilot jet and you said use two 0.5mm shims which would make it 1mm total. Is that correct. I purchased a all balls carb rebuild kit and a nicecnc air fuel screw. Appreciate your help
Why does front of the air box need to be removed too? Wouldn’t just the top be enough? Great video by the way. Thanks
