I did the airbox mod and Tokyo Mods smog & breather hose kit like you and it makes a huge improvement. Thanks for sharing the video.PS: The JD kit too.
The stock exhaust has a terrible baffle and slows you down as soon as you let off the gas. I bought a stock crf250r exhaust ($50) and I can feel a major power difference. I have the race jets, opened up airbox, smog elimination kit and pink wire mod. This video helped thanks I took the idea to use a skiffle and make it hot for the airbox. Cheers.
Hi Derek, I think you are referring to the two rivets that are holding that top piece on to the airbox. I simply took a drill with a drill bit and drilled into them. In about two seconds they were drilled out (wrapped around the drill bit). They are aluminum so they drill out really easily. Mark
can someone explain the smog removal kit at 3:40 with all the hoses and what not. just bought a 2009 250x here in NJ. and i have no idea what it's for or how it works. i only noticed it because the hose that (i believe) goes to the air box touched the exhaust and burned through the hose.... does this smog kit hinder the performance of the bike? is it a pro/con? need help understanding the purpose please! thank you!
What main jet did you use also what needle position and all also haha.... Thank you Thinking doing this tomorrow. I have the jet kit and R exhaust but I have the 165 jet in
This is only for the California model. All other crf250x are slightly different in stock jetting don't buy a jd jet kit unless you have the California model it's a major waste of money
False, in order to get pretty substantial gains in power, the JD Jetting kit is a MUST when used in conjunction with some CCC mods. Even without any other mods, you can definitely get your bike running happier by just using the JD Jetting kit.
