First mod always for me is window tint lol
These niggas aint from the hood they dont need it😂
ak144ful not from the hood myself but uhhh. Yea tints are fucking nice. Can’t do blow and fuck in the back seat when you got a glass box Tints are a necessity
Gennady your mom didn’t tell you not to judge a book by a cover lol .. I’m Tongan if you from Oakland California you’d know you ain’t have to be black to be from the hood lmao .. knock it off with the stereotypes cuh
Gennady come to Oakland and find out if it’s a play ground lol 😂
Gennady #allhumdulilah
I love the “if you don’t like turbo noise, you are WRONG” lmao so true
I bought a MkV (my first car!) about three months ago, and your videos have been really indispensable in getting myself to terms with all the quirks that come with VW ownership. Keep up the good work!
I've had a 16 Golf R manual for 18 months. My first mod was an APR Stage 1, two weeks after taking delivery. For about $800 including installation (by the dealer's tuner shop), the difference was day and night! Adding over 60 HP and 100 FT LBS torque was a supremely cost-effective mod. Recently I had the same shop add a FMIC and CAI (both APR) mainly so I could keep my gains through the Florida summer heat. There was a noticeable bump in power and, no doubt, my turbo and engine will thank me over the long summer. I tentatively plan to go Stage 2 (with downpipe) within a year or so but will have to upgrade the clutch which will add considerable cost to the Stage 2. Right now the car's running great and I'm not in a huge hurry so I may wait until my clutch is slipping bad enough to warrant the outlay.
The best mod i installed DIY was the playing card connected via wooden clothes line clip to the wheels for maximum awesome sound.
Some tuning companies offer steep discounts on their stage 2 tune if you've already purchased their stage 1 tune. In fact, for some, you only pay the difference between the two, so you're not losing any money by going stage 1 first.
My point of view for tuning car:
1) Get better brakes
2) Get quality tires
3) Have new suspension
4) Engine upgrades
5) Exhaust upgrades
6) Put bigger turbo and intercoolers
I also own Audi A4 B7 2.0tfsi
Cristopher Mercedes I started with a catless downpipe, and then a brake swap from a vw toureg, next is tune
Cristopher Mercedes also have a b7 2.0 tfsi
Brakes only make you go slower, who needs em
Lmaooooo@@willisrobbins8164
@@willisrobbins8164 i use other cars to break, i think quality breaks are overrated
Smart VW ECU--damn, Volkswagen back to college. 😎
Mods cost and will always cost--as long as it makes you happy.
Add some pictures into your videos with the things you are talking about. It will make it more interesting
I mean do you really need to see a jpeg of an intake and downpipe
First mods on my TT Quattro were brass shifter bushings. Couple the bushings with the dogbone insert makes for a really crisp shifter. After that I got a 42dd turboback and a cts front mount. Then a 4bar fpr and a stage 2 tune from motoza performance. Pulls so strong now and is a really fun time. Now I'm going hybrid frankenturbo and I'm really excited as to how it will pull.
Actually if you purchase a Stage 1 and get the Stage 2 from the same company they'll just charge you the difference. Maybe $30.
DaytonCarCare apr Is free if you have downpipe
Yup my b7 audi first mod was coilovers lol that ride height drove me crazy i lowered it same week i bought it. Then engine internal things cam follower chain and tenioner. Finally 3 months later got a test pipe and downpipe and deleted rear resonator to go with new rims. Next is intake and apr stage 2!
first week I owned my mk7 1.8 I installed a cts downpipe and made an intake for it and I love it! In a few months it will be the stage 2 uni-tune going in. I have the dog bone insert but haven't installed it yet.
I got an 02' 1.8t jetta.. love my car...! first mod I did was 3" turbo back, then silicone tip and front mount, forge splitter valve, then silicone throttle body to intercooler pipe... next will be coilovers when the weather gets warmer, dog bone insert and then stage 2 tune... not going big right now, just looking to get around 230-250 out of it...
Modding my 06 a3 2.0 bout to use your videos as reference thought no one was or had done and posted videos super stoked
Oil catch can is a good mod for these also to keep your engine clean and upgrade to a HPFP after your tune.
really nice videos...I am driving a MKV Jetta and my first two mods I did are the K&N Typhoon Intake and the Turbo-Back from Draft Design Model 42DD. The Car sounds and performs incredible....
Catch Can is a must on the FSI!
Quick and simple, Get the Stage 2 by Revo.
a down-pipe, intake, and lower torque mount for your transmission. (if you wanna go crazy get the BSH engine mounts, car will run like a dump truck for 3 months before the mounts set in tho) :D
You will Thank me later.
Orrr you can just get a intake and stage 1 tune by Revo.
Who knows, later on if you feel like it, you can get the stage 2 tune upgrade for just $300.
My build; 2015 Golf Wagon, IS20 APR Tune, APR enclosed Intake, APR Stainless-Steel Dogbone, bilstein suspension, Nuespeed RSE05 Wheels, Firehawk INDY 500 tires 235/45/17's. LED tail lights coded to Urban Joke. Fun little car to drive. Next upgrade will be intercooler. Looking at charge pipes to.
Thanks for the video!!! Super straight forward, helped me finalize my plans!!
For my mk5 GTI i went stage1 and R8 coils + ngk iridium ix plugs. I want to put an S3 intercooler (or bigger) and a downpipe 200 cell with catback. I had a BMC sport filter but since I live in the countryside it doesn't catch dirt so I went back to paper filter and I'm going to keep paper filter while modding. Could look after a TTS intake with K04. Swap with the CDL from mk6 R/TTS/S3. Now that's a dream, most realistic, economical, reliable thing is ecu, a larger intake (you know the carbon look ones), stock filter and downpipe. I went for stickier tyres because I live in the countryside and the GTI is already low enough.
I'm stage 2 now but looking at doing the BOV and Exhaust on my 08 GTI
In most cases of tuners, like apr which I have for example, when you go from stage 1 to stage 2 you just pay the price difference. So it wouldn’t hurt going stage 1
tks for all the tips. just got my first gti 2007 love it so far.
My mk4 jetta I just removed the muffler and upgraded the diverter valve and stage 1 tune until next summer, makes a lot of turbo noise and is pretty quick.
Getting ready to modify my Audi TT225. Started off with new metal fin water pump and Gates timing belt and tensioner. Now heading over to new exedy clutch and flywheel. Then new CAI, then diverter forge 007 and then downpipe... deleting the resonator. After all that’s done then I’m
Doing my stage 2
The way a car should be modded
#1 super crazy offset rims
#2 buy some suspension to get stupid low to take out reflectors of the freeways
#3 useless canards
#4 Hid kit
#5 stupid crazy annoying muffler
#6 rev at anything with wheels
#7 repeat step #6 repeatedly
#8 hard park anywhere
#9 combine step#6 and#8 for maximum enjoyment
All this was just a joke btw :)
You mean dirt nasty low?
You forgot buy car charger for vape batteries
1 and 2have to change place🔄
I died 😂👏
I wish i was funny like you🥴
I fully agree with everything said in this video, stage one is a waste and so are high name tunes like Uni, which i had first then went eurodyne mistero later.
this is my order of mods on any car ive owned
1. coilovers
2. tires
3. exhaust
4. tune
5. intake / i.c. piping
6. breaks
7. vagcom,
make your car how you want it to be, at least from my point of view over the past 2 years with youtube getting big in the scene and everyone wanting to be cool with cars the scene has taken a shit in toronto. do shit for your own personal enjoyment not everyone in your "club" or meet. 2step, burnouts and drifting have theyre place at the end of a meet rules are meant for sports lol.
Bryan Rex how much does all of that cost?
Wouldn't you do the I take before getting the engine tuned or are these not in order
Diamxnd Rex how do you get vagcom on a mk4 GTI
@@Spccain It's a software on a laptop, You plug it in to your car and you can basically do anything, Only for VWs and Audis tho
I mean my stage 1 cobb Golf R got some pretty good gains so im not mad about it
first MOD that I got was the complete Borla exhaust kit and it was worth every penny . I never have my windows up just so I can hear all the crackles and pops
Hey @IgnitionTube what about an b5 passat 1.6cc...does it worth to tune it...I d like to gain some horsepower...like from 100 hp to 180hp..what mods do you recommended..in budget and without destroying the engine...which has already 180.000km
I've got a Mk6 118tsi, I know it's quite different from a GTI with the placement of turbo and such, but in your opinion would charge pipes and air intake improve the power it puts out?
I just want to add oil catch can for reliability, after you get one the amount of build up you find is surprising.
Heard the lines can freeze in colder areas
What lines would you put in the engine bay of a car that would freeze doing cold weather are you really that unknowledgeable if so then your statement has much merit please accept my apology.
@@emotionalintelligence776 i dont know if its what he was thinking about but i have a 2006 vw tdi beetle, and i've had the fuel filter/water separator crack when it got really cold when i first got it. apparently the previous owner had never drained it. not really a major problem, just had to swap in a new one for like 30$
I did APR Stage 1, found out about Stage 2 after the fact😭; live and learn! Kholfaser Cold Air Intake, seems, coupled with the tune, to make a big difference in power. Didn't know that Intake makes it sound better; wondered why my car sounded more powerful, even turbo whine is more pronounced! Might do springs, but just VW sport springs, maybe.....
Mine is stock, but I'm going to buy a short shifter, lower springs, vw racing air intake, and down pipe and have it chipped (ecu) thanks for your videos man 👍
NOTE IF YOU OWN A TDI: Do NOT get a downpipe (DPF delete) before getting a tune! The car will still try to do regen cycles and the EGT's will be so hot you'll melt your bumper and other not good stuff.
Corbin Haynes so tune first?
That's what I'd recommend. Optimally do it at the same time but tune first should be alright
Corbin Haynes
Apr requires you downpipe before stage ll
Well I mean it should be fine and I'm not an expert on this but again all I can say is optimal scenario is doing them both at the same time
You don't need a tune if only mounting a test pipe. You'll have to get a o2 adapter for the lower sensor if you don't want to trigger a CEL. Though if you want it done properly any mod to your engine you should prepare for dyno tunes for max performance. Many people do a flash static tune to their car that was mapped from another similar car, it may work but not the proper way to do it.
I have a turbo Volvo s60, I've heard that the ecu would have to be reprogrammed to accept a bigger turbo, otherwise it won't a difference.
the main reason is the on ramp to the highway is super short.
Quick question.... I just bought a 99 vw jetta vr6 glx and I'm wondering what to start with as far as performance is in question?
I first did a muffler and resonator delete, then I got a unitronic intake from some guy on Craigslist, then I got H&R Sport springs, but I need to change my clutch so I've been parting together the RSR clutch and the last thing I need is the pressure plate. Then I can do coil packs and new spark plugs, a downpipe, and I'm gunna go straight to stage 2 :)
Plasmamuffins rsr clutch is a good choice. very close to stock feel and noise. mines still good after 10,000 miles.
all these advices because if you have standart shifter in your what about the automic gear box for vw 2.0 tfsi ?
Reason for the thick to thin charge pipe is because having a change like that pulls in more air than just having a straight through pipe
I don't think he ever heard of Bernoulli 🙇 always a bit hard to filter what works and what might be "bro science"
Suspension before wheels. Agreed. All day.
What do you think a short shift kit is worth on mk6 2.0T? Obviously the 6spd.
Definitely about stock height and aftermarket wheels… Some of us live in Colorado where we can’t afford to push snow all winter long
New to the VW scene! What's great to start with? Was thinking tune but also thinking coilovers first.
Riding a 2004 VW Passat 1.8T
I have a 2005 Jetta GLI 1.8t. The first thing I did was add an intake. However I reverted right back to the stock airbox because I did not like the way it sounded. When it dumped the air it sounded phenomenal but when it was spooling it almost sounded like a coolant overflow on a hot radiator. Is there anyway to fix this? I wasn’t sure if it had to do with the honeycomb in the mass airflow sensor or maybe the turbo inlet pipe?
I have a 2013 tdi passat with a restricted particulate filter. If I replaced that filter with a new down pipe would I run into computer problems?
I've put an intake and full straight pipe from the turbo back in my benz :)
I have a 2018 Volkswagen passat R-Line and I'm trying to modd it but dont know wat you buy first or do..
i have a problem. My MK6 GTI has a BORLA cat-back exhaust 2.5 inch. It still has the stock downpipe, so i need a downpipe but i'm not looking to spend over $400 on a downpipe. Also what should i get catted downpipe or not catted downpipe.
I did the same mods at first great start if you want to go faster now ive just kept going great videos keep em coming. Definitely like the lowered look first then wheels if you want i just started to vlog not quite as good as your videos but im just about ready to get some driving clips
Spot on, but track or at least street density mounts are requirement for stage 2 power. Due to significant increase of torque, excessive movement of the soft stock transmission and engine mounts will cause deterioration of other parts. The polyurethane lower transmission mounts do not last long either, a better option would be a solid insert or HPA red puck.
Step 1) Better brakes
Step 2) better tyres
Better tyres it's number one then the brakes, if they are worn out, change them, if not, it's waste of money. Remap is next. I don't really like the idea of high flow air filters, but people use kn and they seem to love it. If your shocks are bad, you can replace it with some coilovers, lower it a little. But if your suspension is still good, I feel like it's not a huge deal. Exaust and turbo if you want more power but you will be limited from a lot of stuff and it becomes expensive and not sure how reliable for a daily.
Edward Malone thank u. Thank u a lot...
Interesting thing about vws and Audi's is that their brake tech was way ahead of their American and Japanese counterparts. A nice set of pads and rotors is likely to be enough for most people
Thank you! I do this every time i get a new car, acutally going for 235's for my jetta and 1 cm spacers to reduce rub.
hi
i have a audi q5 2 liter turbo and im planning to get a first resonator and muffler delete, would it have any bad affects on the turbo and would it increase the performance?
I did the downpipe with my mk5 tsi and check engine light came on🙄
Audi s3 8l 225 First mod was Miltek catback stage 1 tune decat 260 bhp at the wheels 320 nm torque not bad I guess for 2003 car.Should have done downpipe live and learn that is next along with front mount inter cooler.
I have a focus st running stage 2 tune with 3inch downpipe in 3 inch cat back. Intake, lowering springs and rear motor mount
I’d say I’d you have a mk5 or mk6 gti with higher mileage, definitely get engine and trans mounts, dogbone and replace your from lower control arm bushing or upgrade them to S3 bushing. I’m not tune but I felts a big difference in power delivery and response with new mounts and I have 0 wheel hop. Event though the mounts are stiffer, the car feels a lot smoother to drive in most cases.
hey, which intake would you recommend for b8.5 audi a4? K&N, CTS or APR?
With the stage 2 HPFP from unitronic it says I could get a whole 75 + HP, but that’s with 93 octane, say if I was running 87, how much HP you think I could get with that tune
I have a 2005 GTI 1.8t, but it’s automatic, y’all think is worth upgrading it?
Thanks for the idea's!
I just got my 15 Golf TSI 1.4T
I want to start modding/retrofitting it. Have y’all heard of Leyo Motorsports? Or can y’all comment some good brands that fit
what sort of exhaust system doesn t make trouble with the cops and make best performance?i mean the lower noise and good performance ? thanks ..
I just got my vw 2016 Jetta 1.8 Tsi sport i wanna know what intakes are good for it, some exhaust system, and should i get an apr tune?
I have a VW CC 2013 R. I love the car but the turbo lag is the worst. Any recommendations on getting rid of that? Thanks
i can’t find a discharge pipe. mind helping me out?
i got a 2015 passat. just passed the warranty. can i safely get a stage 2 without any more mods? it's a 1.8 tsi
I need help on modifying my vw rabbit do you think the best way is follow the same steps as you since it similar to gti
I believe that apr does free ecu upgrades for the mk7 if you go stage 1 first.
My 06 A4 tfsi throws smoke from the exhaust and it’s white/grey .. I need some help.. it’s my first car. Could be the turbo? I want to modify my car as well
My first mod was a stage one tune. Followed by a never ending pile of parts and go fast bits. ALL HAIL V DUB SLEEPERS!
I drive a Passat 2008 wagon form turbo (not too flashy) any suggestions or anything in this vid that’s not worth the money?
Any links for a good charge pipe? I have an FSI GTI too 😁
So I had a 2010 vw rabbit it had the 2.5l 5 cylinder in it and I had it FBO it had about 240hp at the wheel it was one of the best sounding NA engines in my opinion it had a straight pipe with a magnaflow box muffler it was catless but sadly hit a deer and totaled it but i just got a 09 GTI it has the TSI engine I already got so basic stuff coming in for it like the exhaust bc that’s one of the first things I do gotta have good sound when ya rollin but have any idea what to do about the creaking noises I already changed all the subframe bolts and torque to VW spec
What's your thoughts on springs vs coilovers? I have a mk6 2013 gti
The cobb AP let's you go stage 2 from stage 1 with no added cost btw
grate advice starting to mod my 11 plate cc tdi... had the same idias as what youve suggested but im on a budget atm so starting on interior leds trim ect then going lowering springs then wheels then engine mods want a cat back straight through custom made ofcourse then intake ..... sound like a plan ??
I have a 09 Tiguan 2.0t tsi..I want more turbo noise n blowoff valve so do i get the gfb dv+ and a spacer? Then dump-pipe and cold air induction.do i need to get a reflash tune with just those mods? Can u do any vids on the tiguan??
Is the intake on a 2000 VW Passat too close to the turbo and suck in too much heat? I got a 1.8L turbo
My 06 loses traction in pulls all the time, I bought it from a guy with a few smart mods on it, lowering springs, upgraded brakes, I’ll have to check with my vagcom, could already be stage one, also what is a good intake to start with, any ideas?
So you mentioned early on that volkswagen/audi had a smarter ecu, did you mean they were adaptive in a way ? And if so are they like this on first gen TTs ?
would u ever get a tsi over a gti. im getting one because fuel and i think has enough power to be modded arounnd. let me know ur suggestion
I have a 2015 Volkswagen Passat TSI SE what is a good first upgrade for that car
Is it bad to have a pod filter inside the engine bay? Does that decrease th performance of the car.
Should I go with a ceramic or metal cat on the AWE downpipe? Whats the difference? Pros and Cons?
Having a GTI myself and I'm thinking about doing stage 1 just for the extra push ^_^
i have a 08 passat with the 2.0t 6 speed manual trans, from which compay should I get a tune? i just ordered the ECS diverter valve kit , and a ECS Cam fallower .
ev14 72lbs, wally 450, cx fmic, test pipe on awm's & aebs all day.. push 15 safely on a k03 daily
First thing I always do when I get a new vw even tho it’s not considered a mod is black out everything/ anything possible!
hey man listen im starting a project on a mk2 vr6 2.8l. what engine mods should i consider putting in first knowing its an old engine. thanks man new fan here !
i have a gen 1 2.0t tsi and all i have right now is coilovers, intake, and straight pipe. next mods is upgraded dv and stage 2
First car I own. It's a 2012 golf r. Mk4. Skipping stage1 and getting the tune and the intake. Waiting on other stuff
Would these mods work with a 2.0t fsi Passat, 2008? Downpipe, intake, etc. thanks. New to VW world and just want to add a little more speed. Thanks
if you put a catback exhaust and a cold air intake on a stock engine, do you have to get a tune? New to the car game
Don’t get mad... but what is stage 1 and 2 tuning? I’m new to the car scene but I’m trying to learn so much
what would be your honest opinion about putting a turbo in my 08 Volkswagen Rabbit
I like this vid, as I'm just at this stage. But I'm not too, concerned with the Built vs Brought concept as technically I'm buying everything anyway. And whether I build it or someone else does, I still brought it. So, the 5 step intro mod
1. Intake
2. Down pipe
3. Stage 2 tune (expensive)
4. Quick shift (I like this one. The stock long pull is painful at times)
5. Lower, wheels and shocks (mild expensive)
I have a 19 Jetta 1.4t. Do you know much about the 1.4 motor’s by chance. I can’t find anything online and I think it’s because it’s 2019 but I’m looking for more sound plus performance I’ve already deleted the muffler and it gave it a little bit a sound but not what I’m looking for
I'm guessing the fluid dynamics of the charge pipe has to do with creating a vortex going from large to small and then large again. Just guessing.
